...but not the kind where you have to buy ten crappy discs just to get two that you really like. :)

Anyways, for any of you who have been members in clubs like this, how did you find your first meeting? Did you go in drab? Did you learn a lot from the club members? Is there any etiquette rules and / or suggestions that you can offer? I'm not really sure how to behave. Naturally? Try to be more femme?

I've met the president and one of the members already, and they seemed pretty cool.

I know it'll be cool once I go there. I guess I just have pre-meeting jitters.

Thanks

I found the first meeting I went to by a posting here in the Upcoming Events. You can search them out, find them by postings, or even see mention in signatures like with AKAMichelle and Erika.

For our group, you can certainly come in drab. Some do it the first time to get past some of the jitters. Last night, we had a regular member who had missed the last couple of meetings show up in drab. He has a busy summer and missed coming, but just didn't have time to dress.

I would say that the meetings are no different than this group. The etiquette is simliar and things are best if you just act like yourself. Like here, you will find a range of what people do and how they behave. But most of them are support groups, so being yourself leads to you getting the best support.

If you go, I hope you find what you feel you need. Groups aren't for everyone, but I love going to the one that I attend regularly.

the group i am with at this time has monthly socials and dinner, and a monthly drab lunch, plus some shopping trips and a new thing for getting out and about, plus the special trips around.
the only one not for dressing up is the drab lunch, but yes the first time to a dinner i was dressed. but then i was involved in another group some years back. always dress for the night :-)
