I just got back from my first Gay pride weekend, wow, what an eye opener it has been.
I live in a small community in northern California, along the coast. I knew we had a small gay community here, so I didn't expect gay pride to be a very big deal, I used to watch San Francisco's parade on TV, but never got there, and I knew a little quite town up here in the woods, would not have anything to compare to that. But with a drag baseball game last night, featuring the Sisters of perpetual indulgents, against a lot of local officials, or those running for office, also in drag. It was a fun gathering of our gay community, I saw a few Trans folks there, and thought how cool. Being with the wife, and in the closet. I was under dressed, but nothing showing. But it felt good to see others that where bold and dressed. But the eye opener was the pride parade this afternoon, I think the Trans community out numbered the gay community, I've lived here for years now, and never had an idea there where so many of us here. We used to have one gay bar, but it closed a long time ago, so I have no idea where they hang out, but there here! I was going to put up a couple of images, but can't figure this thing out, maybe after I've rested my head will work better.
