I live in a mid-size city in Tennessee (USA). I miss the progressiveness of Atlanta where I lived the last two decades or so. My current home is very, very conservative. There are no CD/TG organizations or support groups here. Apparently, there was at one time. My point is that I appreciate this forum and the moderators so much. In a matter of only a few weeks, I've met some extraordinary people here, in a virtual sense, who I would love to meet in person some day. Having electronic contact with kindred spirits is extremely significant. When I'm experiencing something difficult relating to crossdressing, it's comforting to know that there's probably someone else here going through the same thing. That's powerful. This community is the closest thing to a family I've ever experienced.

I am sure there are many here who would echo this sentiment ...
I, too, am grateful for this community ... it is nice to get to peek into the rest of 'our' world.

My whole life I never met or had any dealings with others like me.
Then earlier this year I found this site.
The help and most of all, the encouragement has been amazing.
Mandy, I think most of us feel like you do about this site.
Have fun, SUZY

Reading your posts about East TN bring back memories of Knoxville and the Smoky Mountains. You bring up such nice memories. One day when I get back that way I hope we can meet.

Amanda - Thanks for starting this thread.
Suzy - Me too. I've never met or known of any other CD'ers so I'm very happy to have found this forum. I'm doing a lot of reading and so many of the posts talk about things where I'm saying "That's Me!"

It is so important to have a resource like this available to us. How else do we get to meet each other? We are either in the closet or we see each other and shouldn't approach each other because then we are outed.
Everyone here is so wonderful and I have some great friendships with those that I have been able to meet in person also.

I agree, I am fairly new here also. It is so good to get the advise and hints from all the friendly people on this site. I just love it.
My thanks for pulling all of us together. Thank You-Thank You-Thank You!

This site has been a great source of joy for me, and I believe for many others in the CD/TS/TG community. :)

"That's Me!!" At forty-five, I have been closeted my whole life. finding this community has given me hope, inspiration, companionship and courage. I will survive. I am not the only one. I am not as abnormal as I have felt my whole life. The people on this site mean so much to me and I don't no any of you personally but I know all of you emotionally. I know I am such a gurl...I am actually tearing up...Thank you all for being a part of this community.

I'm glad to be here too. These internet sites for like minded folks are wonderful. They expand our horizons, allow us to make friends, and show us that we are not alone. And then they help us get out the door and meet others just like ourselves. What an amazing thing.

Many, including me, echo your thoughts Amanda. The feeling of support, understanding and belonging to a community (even if only online) is very strong after feeling alone for so long, and feeling alone is certainly common with us. We are all only a mouse click away :)

It's a great community to be a part of, knowing you're not alone. Haven't had the chance to meet others, but sure would like to. I think I know of a couple of cs's near here, but I'm not out and I don't think they are either. Just have to see how life moves ahead, the support is appreciated.

Hi, amanda. I too live here in Tn, about 50 miles south of Nashville, and I am in the same boat as you are. I live in a small podunk redneck town, where they would just shoot at us girls, since we "ain't right" I have found much friendship on this forum, and without it, I probably would regerss so far, that I could never find myself again. I moved here 4 years ago from the Tampa Bay area to escape all of the bad things happening down there. I do miss it, but I also enjoy the peace and solitude of my small farm. If you would like to chat more, please feel free to PM me anytime!

And for the record, your not alone, there isn't any groups around here either. I think the closest one is Nashville. If ya need anything just ask, PM anytime I love to chat! Kaitlin
