So I got this new wig from Voltage. Purchased it online at tranniegear.com. It doesn't really look like the picture on the website. I'm afraid to use hairspray to get it how I want it. Has anyone else ever purchased a Voltage wig?

Amanda i was thinkin' -return policy?(if you're unhappy with the merchandise?) and do not! use just any hairspray or other product on a man made-mono-fiber wig!!! There are good ones out there but? .... that's my only advice but others like Dana J on the Beauty Forum would know lots more, I'm sure - xx"K"

If you do decide to keep it and style it yourself, only use water based hairsprays and gels. The other kind will definitly ruin it.

Unfortunately many wig retailers have a policy of not accepting returns, but ya can always try.

Amanda, Do NOT use regular hair spray on a synthetic wig. It will destroy the wig. For styling a synthetic wig, there is a special styling spray that can be purchased at any wig salon.

I don't know how different it looks from the photo, but FYI, wigs in the product shots are routinely styled to look good on that particular model and look much nicer than what arrives.

Renne Reyes has some good words of caution (http://www.reneereyes.com/Webdocs/make-30wigs-0index.htm) about this as well as many other useful buying info and tips on how to care for your wig.

FYI, the wig is fairly inexpensive and it's tough to find a good looking wig in that price range. Expect to pay about twice that for a quality wig. Wilshire Wigs (http://www.wilshirewigs.com/) is huge wig-house in LA that's a good source and t-friendly.

Hi Gang , going back to wigs, i spent upto £200 on one from hothair it was nice but a bit expensive. The stall at bluewater is a no no, terrible wigs and service. The best ive found also sell on ebay.
Contrast Studio i believe its called.
its a gg called sue from the bristol area. Ive bought from her and the range is £30-60. Fantastic Wigs. Also bought from a small wig shop and was happy there too thats in Welling in Kent.
