11) Why do you dress?
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

I'll start.

For me, Crossdressing started when I became curious as to what a pair of my mother's red flats would look and feel like on my feet. Turns out, they felt great, and I soon moved on to skirts, pantyhose, dresses, bras, panties, etc.

I just told my mom a few weeks ago, and then told my brother and dad. My mom said that she had known for a long time now. They've been totally accepting, and my mom even said that I would have full access to her closet once we moved out of my aunt and uncles house.

My favorite article of clothing/outfit would have to be a velvet/ velour skirt and long sleeved shirt, from when I went to school totally dressed as a girl, makeup and all, for a spirit week event. Bless the person who thought of opposite sex day.

I can't dress freely for the moment. I recently moved into an aunt and uncle's house for a few months with my family, and they don't know about my crossdressing. I have a feeling that they would kick us out of the house if they knew, too.

My mom has known and encouraged me for a long time now, even before I told her. I didn't know that she knew, but probably should have taken a hint when she explained to me as to how to apply makeup, lip plumper, and tips on removing mascara with baby oil.

I started by myself. It was a nice thing to be able to do, and very exciting when there was nobody in the house. When my mom would wonder where most of her new tube of lipstick had gone, nobody would know.

With the exception of Opposite sex day once in high school three years ago, I've never been out. I wouldn't know what the reaction would be.

I STRONGLY hinted about my dressing toward a friend in high school once. we were having a conversation about halloween plans, and she had suggested that we switch roles, with her being the guy, and me being her ****ty "Girlfriend". She told me that she was going to buy me an entire outfit, shoes and all (She was wealthy enough to do so), and that her mom was going to teach me to walk like a woman. I got overexcited, and asked her if we could go to a beauty salon and get our hair and nails done. She kind of lost my number after that.

I dress because it feels nice. The feeling of nylons over shaved legs, the swish of a skirt over those legs, the feel of a bra, the constricting feeling of panties, the alien feel of lipstick on my lips, and the empowering click of heels on wood floors, just feels great.

I'd get a red blouse, black silk or velvet skirt, a pair of sheer pantyhose, and a pair of 3-1/2 inch red pumps. The mani/pedi would be done with red polish, and the hair and makeup would be left up to the stylist. With all of this, I could probably pass REALLY well, and would go out for a day as Tara.:gorgeous:

What about you?

1) After coming clean to my wife about my love for wearing panties, she said I should dress up as a girl for Halloween and I've been in pink fog ever since... but I did wear my sisters clothes alot when I was young too.. then suppose it all got repressed til coming out again.

2) Yes. Besides my wife and my youngest daughter I told my gay male cousin, my best friend and his wife, a gay male friend, a close male friend and a female friend.
3) All were accepting and I'm really shocked at the support and acceptance however, my cousin seemed more confused than anything.

4) Leotards and one piece swimsuits.. nylon/spandex and anything tight and shiny

5) Yes

6) My wife does sometimes

7) By my self

8) Yes, four times so far

9) No reactions

10) I'm not sure yet, but assume somebody will once I finally tell them, if I do.

11) Because I love being female.. I love looking pretty, I love the clothes, the hair, the makeup, the shoes, how it all makes me feel like this is the real me I was supposed to be.. it just feels so much better than how I felt before coming out and realizing this part of me was repressed.. had I discovered my true self when I was young, chances are that today I would of been posting as a fully transitioned post op.

12) I'll wear anything so long as it's feminine, pretty and looks good on me and I can go out in public wearing it.. I'd just be happy to have the pro makeup artist make me more beautiful and able to pass :) Then I'd go out and be ME :)

1) Due to spacial constraints my mother kept her dresses in my bedroom closet when I was a child. Being able to reach in and touch them when I pleased, crawl up inside them and feel them around me helped form my joy for such things.

2) Just my wife.

3) She was surprised (I told her within the first month or so of dating) but not too shocked.

4) Panties and panty hose as they were the main items I had access to. I truly longed for a dress and some heels, though.

5) I am able to dress when my wife is not home and she will afford me time if I so desire. Not able to dress when she is here.

6) No.

7) By myself.

8) Underdressed, yes. Fully dressed, no.

9) n/a

10) Given the above, not really.

11) I enjoy the feel and look of the more feminine materials - satin, nylon, lace, silk, rayon - and truly do love the feminine form and figure.

12) I would certainly enjoy a wedding gown and all the trimmings. As my wife would not want to see me in such things I would simply have a few photos taken and enjoy the day.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

A curiosity as to womens clothes, what they where and what they felt like to wear.

2) Have you told anyone?

Yes my wife and best friend. I suspect some of my wife's friends know too but she speaks in her language to them and not English so there is no way to be sure of this.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

MY wife accepts but does not approve and has set limits on what I can do and when. My friend was accepting with no issues I know of.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

Anything satin was and still is a firm favourite. I now have a thing for heeled boots (ankle and calf) as well as nice loose fitting tops and long cardigans.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

No. My wife as set strict limits due to her views and us having a daughter. I do get chances to dress at home but only when my daughter is asleep and my wife is working late.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

No. It was and is purely my own choice.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

I was alone and still am in that respect.

8) Have you ever ventured out?

Yes, see my post in this forum regards to this.

But I do not try and pass as female. I go out in public looking like a man in womens clothes. No wig or make up. So this makes it a lot harder. I have short spikey hair which I do not try and hide, and sometimes I go out in female clothes with unshaven with stubble on my face.

9) What was the general reaction?

Most people stare and look at you oddly but ignore you. As long as you are not a threat to them they have no reason to interact with you. Some people are noticeably uncomfortable with it and I understand. Again it is made harder for them by my not trying to pass as female.

It is harder to dress in bigger crowds or with children around for me. Again because I am not trying to look female and you can tell in a glance I am as male as the guy in the suit next to me, it does make things harder both me but this is my choice and I accept this.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

My wife, but she understands it is part of me and accepts she cannot change it.

11) Why do you dress?

Why shouldn't men wear female clothes?

I do not see why men should have such a limited amount of clothes and styles that we do. We should have the same freedom of expression clothes wise that women do. They make a statement as to who they are with clothes yet men cannot. I dress in public to try and fight this lack of equality.

I also dress for comfort reasons. Both in terms of comfort for wearing the clothes as they are a lot nicer in terms of movement and fabric. Also for mental comfort as they make me relax and feel normal.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

I would not accept it. This is my thing, I would prefer not to have someone help me with it. Also my tates change as I discover myself so there is not "perfect" clothes I would want. With my occasional public dressing I am seeing my tastes change towards stuff I can wear in public without drawing masses of attention to myself.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
I think it was a blue sparkly leotard my sister had when I was young. I can remember trying it on when I was about 5 or 6. That and a Belle costume from Beauty and the Beast that my sister had.

2) Have you told anyone?
No, I have never openly told anyone about my dressing. My sister found me in some of her clothing a few times through middle school but I have never talked to her about it.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
Those times that my sister did find me wearing her clothes she would get really mad at me and start screaming at me. Granted she did have some anger issues when she was young. I have never gotten around that and to talking to her since all the open hostility.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Hmmm, it would probably have to be a black padded teen bra that my sister had years and years ago. It was black with pink straps and a pink rose with a green stem on the left side.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
I can dress, but I don't know that I would call it freely. As I'm still living at home I am restricted to dressing when nobody else is home or late at night when they are all asleep.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
Sadly no.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
It was all me.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Can't say that I have gone out in public. I have gone hiking in a girls bathing suit before.

9) What was the general reaction?
Nobody saw me.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
N/A

11) Why do you dress?
I love the feel of girls clothing... I don't really know all the ins and outs of why I dress. I just know I started doing it when I was really young and have done it ever since. Loved every minute of being dressed all along the way.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I would take a wig and I think I would go through with the professional make up, mani and pedi simply for the experience. I have no desire to do that normally.
As for clothing, I think I would take one of those ankle length, layered cotton skirts. Some cork heeled strap sandals, a nice fitted tee shirt or tank top/cami. A nice necklace and bracelet. Of course a nice pair of bikini/hipster panties and a bra would be in order. Probably wouldn't want forms for that particular outfit, but a free pair of forms would be great!
I think I would probably go walking through a field by a stream. Then take of the shoes and jump around on the rocks in and around the stream. Then end the adventure in a hammock with a good fantasy book.
(that sounds like a really good day now that I picture it)

ok..here I go
1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

2) Have you told anyone?
[I]My entire immediate family knows that I dress, along with my wife

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
The initial reaction of my family was one of "you need to stop this" and then they just left it alone...actually, one of my sisters and I used to wear heels in the house and play catch, watch tv, study, and just walk around when no one else was home. My wife's first reaction came with tears, then questions, and then a whole lot of understanding

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
For me, I guess it was the typical black short skirt with nude pantyhose...the shoes were my stepmothers...I wish that I could just find those shoes today - still think about them from time to time, especially when posts like this occur

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Up till recently, for the last few years I could dress whenever I wanted, but with the kids getting older, and my wife not wanting them to find out, it gets harder and harder to dress on a daily basis. I do, however, wear shoes every night, and a little Maria time is always enjoyed

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
Only my wife, but not as 100% as others...just a bit from time to time

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
I started all by myself

8) Have you ever ventured out?
When I was younger and not married, I would go out at night, dressed, by myself and walk around the city for a little bit. The excitement of walking, listening to my heels was great. I also used to go out around my neighborhood for just a quick walk for 20 minutes or so....I recently met with a sister from here for a chat, but that seemed to have gone the "wayside"

9) What was the general reaction?
I never had a negative reaction to my going out yet

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Only some of the family members, but they didn't talk to me much about it

11) Why do you dress?
I dress because it is part of me...Maria is a part of me, and she helps to make my persona, and actually, though many do not realize it, Maria helps me to make decisions in my life, and she affects how I feel...basically my feminine side

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I would love a knee length cocktail dress, a pair of Prive Louboutin shoes, and the silkiest nude color stockings that you can buy for me. I would love to attend a party with all of my fellow sisters, and just get to know everyone there.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

The woman I am one day made it clear, that if I talked the talk and walked the walk I should get dressed and make it look right.

2) Have you told anyone?

I have told my spouse, several of my friends, and my daughter.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

My spouse and friends were not surprised and generally they said I can see that. My daughter told me after the revelation "enough said" indicating that I was her dad, period.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

I wore my mothers undergarments and slips as far back as 8 years old. During the years, guiltily garments of my spouse but never fully dressed. I never had a favorite article but rather this somewhat nebulous image of being a woman, which included colors, textures and softness.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

I am dressed 15/24 during the week and 24/24 on weekends (who would want to be naked:D). I cross dress as a man during work hours.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

I now believe that my mother subtly encouraged me without knowing. She liked me in clothes somewhat flamboyant and colorful throughout my childhood and adolescence. My spouse is very encouraging. She is my greatest source of inspiration and knowledge.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

My spouse helped

8) Have you ever ventured out?

Although not in my home community, I go out all the time on weekends.

9) What was the general reaction?

People notice but more because I am freakishly tall at 6'4", with heels I am 6'8". They look at me and then they look again, I smile, they smile back and all is good.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

No

11) Why do you dress?

Can't go naked and I am a woman

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

Hair, Make-up, and nails by Fred my stylist. I don't need forms except some enhancers. A gorgeous cocktail sheath, black, pearls, sheer nude pantyhose, 4 inch suede pumps. Theatre, dinner, on the town with my spouse; awesome

Started young, wearing mothers heels at age 4, dressing at age 10, going out at age 15....

2) Have you told anyone?
Yes, wife knew prior to marraige.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
She was ok pre-marraige, then found out how addicted I was and suspected I wanted a man. Been downhill ever since.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
A red skin tight body sweater of my sisters.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
I could but choose not to due to children.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
No, with the exception of a pychatrist at the age of 17-18

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
By myself.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes, felt a compulsion to be seen.

9) What was the general reaction?
Laughter, ridicule during teen years. Attracted men in late teens, early twenties.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Yes, everyone.

11) Why do you dress?
It felt good, loved the process, loved the attention.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
Something sexy for sure.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
I'm going for the fairly bland answer of... I saw some female clothes lying around when I was kid, picked them up, put them on, enjoyed it and the cycle begun.
2) Have you told anyone?
I haven't directly told anyone in particular but I have hinted strongly in that direction to a number of people and I doubt they would be suprised if I were to tell them.
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
As I say above, I haven't directly told anyone yet but I imagine I would recieve a reaction of lack of suprise intermingled with acceptance and a hint of indifference.
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?Dresses, skirts, shoes, make up. Essentially anything I was able to lay my hands on.
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
I am able to dress as freely as I please.
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
I have had female friends 'convincing' (as if it took any) me to dress up etc. for nights out.
7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
By myself.
8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yep
9) What was the general reaction?
Generally positive and I was even propositioned which was nice I guess.
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Not that anyone actually knows of it to my knowledge but if they did and they disapproved of it I would be unlikely to be spending a great deal of time with them from that point onwards.
11) Why do you dress?
Simply because I enjoy it and don't really see myself as limited to one style of dressing.
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
Dunno really. Stylish, simple and lets face it, short, black dress, stylish and simple underwear and hoisery, stylish and simple hair, stylish and simple make-up (if you hadn'y guessed by now, I'm a fan of the stylish and simple look). I don't really know how I would use the outfit, *shrugs shoulders* go out in it I guess (probably somewhere stylish and simple tbf).

Without doing all the questions, here are a few answers:
I started at the ripe old age of 63 or so , when I saw a sweet young thing prancing along effortlessly in 4" black patent leather high heels. I wanted to see how it would feel to walk in them so I bought a pair online. Hmm, difficult. And too high for me. But then I figured I should shave my legs to "go with " them while I struggled trying them out. Then I needed a skirt........ and so on. Ten years later I am much happier and quite comfortable in 3" heels. Been out in public just a few times with mixed results. Last time out was last year when I made several trips to the drug store, grocery store, etc. Got some "ma'ams" and also got a couple of hard looks. Enuff to make me uncomfortable repeating it since then. Two of my neighbors know - The Colonel next door is OK with it, but says he does not want to see me in femme mode. A lady down the street was quite approving and even complimented me. Wife & I live apart for other reasons - I told her and she now chooses to ignore the subject - fine with me.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
Even though I'm married, I have boyfriends on occasion which my wife knows about. Once, on my way to a boyfriend's place I bought some panties on a lark for the sexual thrill. Imagine my thrill when I discovered there was this whole part of me that I hadn't known about.
2) Have you told anyone?
Yes. I told my wife (how could I not?) and a few girlfriends.
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
My wife was stunned at first, and has slowly, in fits and starts, come to accept it. My one close girlfriend was really excited, and now she's also my shopping/dressing partner.
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
At first I strictly underdressed, and my faves were boyshorts, thigh-highs, and garter belts.
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Yes, I dress relatively freely. My wife prefers me to do it when she's not home, and I'm a stay-at-home dad and work from home, so there's plenty of opportunity to let Molly out to play.
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
See above under "close girlfriend."
7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
All by myself.
8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes. Just once to my shrink appointment then to a coffee house after. I'll definitely do it again.
9) What was the general reaction?
My shrink and my wife were supportive and comforting. A pretty girl smiled at me when I got coffee, so I guess that's supportive :)
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Not really, although my wife has a complicated relationship with my dressing.
11) Why do you dress?
Like I stated earlier, it started off as a sexual thing. As I dressed more, it became less about sex and more about, well, being me. I've got a serious depression/anxiety problem, and the only times I feel truly good about myself are when I'm making/creating (writing, building, repairing something) or when I'm all dolled up as Molly. My shrink and I are working on what exactly that means :)
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
Here's what I would pick:
Black up-do wig with a scarf tied in it
Tailored ladies' western shirt with pearl snaps
Dark indigo denim pedal pushers/clam diggers with broad cuffs
A pair of really cute red or black patent maryjane heels and some cute ruffly socks to go with
A full wax/mani-pedi
Nice forms and a sexy vintage bra.
I'd then take rockabilly Molly to the Dirty Show here in Detroit, which is a fabulous erotic art and performance show.

Yes, they have been very accepting.

At first I loved to wear pantyhose. Nowdays, it's skirts.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
I don't really know how exactly it happened. I just remember the feeling of my mom's pantyhose on my legs and the rest is history!

2) Have you told anyone?
Never outright at least. My wife knows I like to wear pantyhose, but she's already made it crystal clear that she doesn't want it to go any farther.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
I would say no to a point. My wife dressed me up for Halloween 10 years ago, and again insisted that it doesn't go any farther.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Pantyhose, my mom always wore Legg's Sheer Energy, it's still one of my favorites. I also like anything in blue!

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
No I can't, unless my wife is working overnight and our daughter is away at a family members house for the night.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
No one.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
Again I had no one except for the Halloween bit where my wife dolled me up.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Twice, first was the Halloween party and the second happened a few weeks ago when I took a short drive en femme.

9) What was the general reaction?
I got plenty of compliments from my female co-workers at the time....simply blissful!

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Wife and I'm sure my parents if they knew!

11) Why do you dress?
It's fun! It makes me happy and It brings out a totally different side of me that I truly like.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit
Most definately! I would like some kind of 40's - 50's period dress blue/silver/black in color, nude pantyhose, "T" strap heels (2-4 inches), a nice brunette wig, and whatever else needed to bring Shelly out to life! I would want to go out maybe to a club or a support group meeting....where ever Shelly would be welcomed!

What started you on the path to crossdressing? (survey)

A little survey for all of us.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
An early memory was wanting lipstick because my sisters were getting it put on. Then, I remember always trying to sneak into a pair of my aunt's boots when I was six or seven. And grabbing onto her legs when she would visit because her pantyhose felt good when I'd touch her legs (Again, I was really young).

2) Have you told anyone?
No, but I did hint about it a lot to a female friend. She always wanted to put me in clown-face, but I was too nervous to "push it." Oh, well...

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
N/A

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
My aunt's brown zippered boots with a 2" heel...

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
I can't dress. If fact, it's been two years since I have, and urge to dress is unbelievable.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
No, the aforementioned friend's "clown face" offer was the closest I ever came.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
All By Myself. Just like the song.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
No.
9) What was the general reaction?
N/A

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
N/A, but there's be plenty who WOULD disapprove...

11) Why do you dress?
So many reasons. I'll admit that a good deal of it is sexual. There's also the feel of the clothes and the gradual transformation into Dawna that I love. I like the "taboo" aspect somewhat. Those are but the basics. I won't bore you with the others...

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?[/B]

I'd like this wig (or better yet, hairstyle): http://www.wilshirewigs.com/BEGUILE-by-Raquel-Welch-pr-2744.html, 3/4" to 1" manicured nails with matching toes. Night-time makeup (sexy but not TOO flashy) and long earrings. A nice silky blouse with a knee-length skirt (or similar in dress form), silky sheer hose, and 4" heels. Sorry about the link, I just didn't know how else to describe the hairstyle...

And I think I'd like to experience being on a non-sexual date with a man, just to see what it would be like...

1. I would say an overwhelming need to be as different as I could be to my much hated, non identical twin brother, but this may just be me trying to justify myself.
2. Yes, My late wife knew, my now adult children know, most of the neighbours know, a good number of my friends know, and now my GF knows (see thread The Sun has got its hat on)
3. Most have been accepting if not exactly supportive, but overall the reaction has been very good.
4. Any skirt or dress, usually my sister's, but never never ever my Mother's, that I could get hold of.
5. Yes
6. Not that I can remember
7. Essentially DIY
8. Yes
9. Nobody seems to take much notice
10. Yes, just the one neighbour.
11. Because I want to, and I can.
12. Sounds good, my choice would depend on what events were coming up, so that it could be something entirely appropriate.

A little survey for all of us.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

Dreaming about my wedding (aged 7) where I was the bride

2) Have you told anyone?

Lots of people now, starting with a GG at work who had more-or-less guessed

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

She encouraged me, a little later I told my 88 year old dad - he was marvellous, apologised for not seeing the torment that I had made such a good job of hiding then assured me that whatever else, I will always be his child

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

This is nearly half a century ago, so I'm not sure I can remember that far back. I think I tried on my (ex)sister's hot pants, but they didn't really suit me then she (and hence I) graduated to midi skirts which were better

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

I am full-time now, so yes I dress fairly freely

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

Only the GG last Xmas, no-one for the previous 46 years

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

All by myself. After I accepted myself last year, if I saw something that I thought I could wear, I bought it and changed into it for the journey home late at night.

8) Have you ever ventured out?

Yes, I went out dressed shortly after I decided that I could no longer fight this. I was hoping that it would shame me out of my need, but reinforced it instead.

9) What was the general reaction?

A couple of people asked to have their photo taken with me, and a GG complimented me on having the courage to be who I really am (her words).

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

Not in the last 2 years. Quite a while before that I had been involved with a religious group who believe that anything other than binary gender heterosexuality is the result of sinful choice. They disapproved. I also suppressed it for nearly 10 years because I thought political colleagues would disapprove - they turned out to be amongst the most supportive.

11) Why do you dress?

Because I am a woman trapped in a man's body

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

It would have to be something appropriate for my age and that I could wear for work in the office. I would probably go for reds and creams as they seem to suit me.

My hair is still a bit short, so I'd stick with the ruby red hair done in a bob or tousled, probably silver chandelier earrings, a cream-coloured choker, frilly darker red blouse, lacey red bra, cream belt on a scarlet knee-length skirt, dark black tights, wet look red calf-length boots, silver bracelets and sparkly red fingernails.

4) i used to love my sisters plaid pleated schoolgirl outfit. i had one of my high school cheerleaders outfits that i used to parade around in when home alone

5) i only dress when alone anymore but then i go out.

6) my wife did once a long time ago when we were dating but that was long before i told her i cd'd on my own

7) with my sisters when very young but then later and now only by my self

8) 6-8 times

9) i was laughed at by teenage boys twice, once in sears and once at another local department store. i recieved a double take from a teenage girl at the McD's drive through, she mad me laugh(in my guy laugh). Wal-Mart was uneventfull both times but i didnt go to a register(i chicken out sometimes).

10) my wife now

11) it relieves stress to be someone all new. it feels good to be pretty.

12) it would definitely be a stylish business suit, i have always wanted to walk down the sidewalk in a city during a busy lunchtime crowd dressed as the average business woman.

A black dress my sister tried to throw out and I rescued. It fit me perfect! :D

11) Why do you dress?
If I had been completely honest about my true self when I was younger, and not trying to make others happy by being who they wanted me to be, I am 100% sure that today I would be living my life as a fully transitioned post op.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
If I really had to choose, the shoes, but I'd be content with anything they would give me.

2) Have you told anyone? Don't have to tell, everyone can see.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction? Everything from people yelling "faggot" out of car windows to outspoken compliments. Most people pay no more attention than if I were wearing blue jeans.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)? A maroon taffeta gown in the attic.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress? Out and proud, sometimes loud, and know what to do if I draw a crowd.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing? Several lesbian women in the congregation of the Unity church I went to in my last town. Many people at Rainbow Gatherings. Strangers on the street in Asheville, North Carolina. I could go on.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How? All by my lonesome in the beginning.

8) Have you ever ventured out? How about driving from Sedalia, Missouri to San Jose, California?

9) What was the general reaction? Indifference

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing? Aforementioned people in cars driving by, one woman in another Unity church that I went to before I became an Episcopalian.

11) Why do you dress? The colors, the textures, the breezes wafting up my legs.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit? I'd turn down the makeup and the hairdressing and the fake boobs, but I would take a floral print dress by Laura Ashley. I'd wear it to church.

1. Playing dress up with my sisters.

2. Yep! A few female friends and my g/f know. No family though.

3. All accepting....figured they would be, otherwise I wouldn't have told them. Some love, others are passive.

4. That's tough.....probably my knee high converse boots.

5. Relatively freely. Can't for work.

6. Not really. It's a freedom!

7. Solo

8. Yep. Go out once in a while.

9. Got a few looks, but what are ya gonna do. Mostly compliments I think

10. Not where I was at. They can go shove it if they did :)

11. Challenge and its fun. A challenge to not be who you're "supposed" to be, a challenge to pass, and so much fun in the process!

12. I want this: http://www.cyberclubwear.co.uk/dance-outfit-black-pink-shimmy-p-2063.html I think the use explains itself in the picture!

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing? No idea ~ I was so young.
2) Have you told anyone? Yes. maybe a dozen ggs
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction? No-one ran away screaming. No-one avoided me as a result of knowing
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)? Probably a slip. My sister's tutu. :)
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress? No. Wife doesn't like it, kids don't know.
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing? Like most others, sadly, no.
7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How? I'm a self-made woman. Before venturing out, I had a makeup lady come by to do my makeup, help pick an outfit, and accompany me. I did this maybe 6 times.
8) Have you ever ventured out? See #7. I first went out five years ago; since then, it's been too rare ~ fewer than 20 times, including a "flying pretty" day.
9) What was the general reaction? None. One woman at a restaurant laughed. One woman in the mall stared until I smiled and waved.
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing? I'm sure. No-one has said anything. I bet Carl Paladino disapproves.
11) Why do you dress? Sure. Like I know.
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit? An EXPENSIVE dress. All I own are under $30.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

Women's shoes. They look so elegant and graceful in a pair of high heels. (Most of them do anyways.)

2) Have you told anyone?

My Mother, Aunt, and two of my female cousins. Others may suspect.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

My Mother and Aunt are in a way. My Mother helped me get ready a few Hallowens ago and she seemed to enjoy teaching me about makeup. My Aunt has never seen me dressed. Out of the two female cousins only one of them has seen me dressed and she loved it; she even confided that she wished that she had been born male. The other cousin was, for a while. We do not talk much any longer.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

A pair of my Mother's high heeled wood soled sandals. Definitely 70's hot, but not so much now.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

I can dress freely in my room (live with parents) and for right now that is enough.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

No, not really.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

Started on my own just trying out a pair of my Mother's shoes to see what they felt like, and I progressed from there. At first it was sort of sexual in nature but now it just feels right for me.

8) Have you ever ventured out?

A public Halloween party when I was 26 or 27.

9) What was the general reaction?

Absolutely none, that is until people began to learn who I was. Then there was a lot of rather confused stares that lasted for about an hour. After that it was all good.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

Not knowingly. Some of my extended family and friends have made their views on 'alternative' lifestyles known.

11) Why do you dress?

As I said above, it began with some sexual aspects but since has developed into a way to feel better and more 'me'.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

Tie. A nice simple and feminine dress or skirt outfit that I could wear out for a shopping trip and a nice casual lunch, or, a dress/outfit suited for a day visiting art galleries and the like. Sorry, I am not much of a 'clubbing' girl.

I converted jeans into skirts, and then I bought some denim skirts.

2) Have you told anyone?
That is no secret - I have my skirts, dresses, and heels in plain sight in the closet and wear those clothes regularly.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
It varies by the person. Some can look at me wearing a dress and not blink an eye. Others go ballistic when they see me wearing just a denim skirt with men't clothes otherwise.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Denim skirts

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Yes for the most part I can dress freely.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
No.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
I did it myself.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes. I do so quite frequently.

9) What was the general reaction?
Varies by the person. For the most part people don't seem to pay that much attention.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
A few people go unreasonably ballistic when I am wearing just a denim skirt with a man's shirt and a man's pair of shoes, let alone a full-bore dress.

11) Why do you dress?
I like a bit of variety - men's clothing is quite boring as a whole.
- I get tired of the "birdbreast" look of the formal coat and tie outfit.
- Men's shoes are quite boring. There is almost no variety of heel heights in men's shoes.
- Men's sandals tend to be dead flat. I find that my 4 inch stiletto sandals are a bit more comfortable than my men's dead flat Earth Shoe sandals I bought in the 1970's
Skirts and dresses [I never wear women's pants or shorts] there is no wedge of cloth to jam against the "boys" downstairs.
A dress also does not bind at the waist.
I guess I'm a bit different from most of the members of this forum in that at no time do I think of myself as a woman. I think of myself as a man 100 percent of the time. I would describe myself as a "freestyler" instead of a crossdresser.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I would take everything except the forms - I think forms are fake. I also don't need them. I might take a black form fitting dress and black sheer pantyhose along with 3.5 inch red stiletto pumps. I could stand to have a corset (nothing too tight) to take care of my not-too-big gut. As far as my hair is concerned, style the hair in the usual way I have done, but dye the hair blond. I would have dark red polish on my fingernails, dark red lipstick, and my standard black polish on my toenails.

After all that is done, I still would talk in my masculine voice [perhaps softened and more breathy] and walk in my usual stride as much as I could do with those shoes.

I would go to a concert after getting the outfit.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing? In my case, I think its genetic or developmental...something that's been with me since I was born.2)
Have you told anyone? Yes, my wife, sister and a small number of female friends.
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction? Very supportive in every case. Mostly curious about Why. Of course, I can only partially answer the why.
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)? pantyhose & panties
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress? I dress freely at home most of the time (except recently - have a daughter back in the house)
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing? My wife

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How? All by myself - I learned a lot by watching my wife, looking through catalogues and later the internet.
8) Have you ever ventured out? Barely - I've gone for evening walks en femme a couple of times and worn women's tops, light make up and open toe sandals w/3" heels to department stores, restaurants bars, movies and the grocery store. I really present more as an effeminate male than as a female when in public

9) What was the general reaction? One lady at a restaurant complimented me on my sandals and asked where I got them.
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing? Oh, my ex began to only after we were separated...before that she went along with things.
11) Why do you dress? Got $64,000 - that's the big question. The short answer is that it makes me feel feminine, and I like to at least pretend that I'm a girl.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit. Hmmmm, it would depend on how it turned out - if I was remotely able to blend in, I might consider wearing this out in public. If not, it would just be another day and maybe a special night with my wife :)

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing? Curiousity...like you I wondered how I'd look in my mother's high heels, but they wouldn't fit until I put on her stockings, zowie!
2) Have you told anyone? I've made many friends as Cissy, but I keep my male and female lives completely separate
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction? N/A
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)? Skirts and stockings
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress? About 1/3 of my time I can be a she 24/7
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing? No
7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How? Self-taught
8) Have you ever ventured out? All the time
9) What was the general reaction? Pass as just another woman
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing? Like I said, those who would disapprove do not know
11) Why do you dress? At first it was a turn-on, now the whole experience of living life as a female is a total rush
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit? A tailored suit with a skirt and blazer, all my clothes are mix 'n match and it would be nice to have a totally tailored look, oh and a new wig like the one I have only a bit longer

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
I believe there were a few things. When I was born my mother wanted a girl and dressed me in girl clothes and curled my hair. My dad put a stop to it before I turned 2. At a family gathering when I was 5 I overheard the hens in the family remarking about "what lovely eyelashes he has. He should have been a girl". When I was about 11 I was alone in the house and saw my mothers pantyhose drying on the shower rod. I was hooked the first time I tried them on.

2) Have you told anyone?
My wife, My stylist, and my favorite SA

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
Yes they were

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Pantyhose and then girdles. Oddly not so much now.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Yes
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
I think my mother did unknowingly. She was always trying to "dress me up" for Halloween.
I also had a girlfriend that always wanted to dress me as a girl and take me out.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
by myself

8) Have you ever ventured out?
I'm out all the time. Most weeks Monday thru Wednesday then the fog lifts. Working on that!

9) What was the general reaction?
Mostly acceptance or maybe no one cares.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Not that i am aware of, and if there is they can go &%$# themselves!!

11) Why do you dress?
Because Michelle is too fat to walk around naked

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I don't have a fantasy outfit. CD'ing ceased being a fetish for me years ago. The clothes don't matter as much as getting out there and interacting with the world as the woman i am. As long as I blend and my clothes are age appropriate and my feet don't hurt I am a happy girl!!!

The first time there was some laugher, but generaly no real reaction.

11) Why do you dress?

1) I first wore one of my mothers nylon slips when I was about 7 or 8 loved the feel of it, but not the reaction as I was in bed with mum and dad at the time.
2)My ex partner of 10years
3)The clue was in the ex
4)My mother had a brown nylon full slip with gold lace trim, it might not look good in print, but it was gorgeous, I have been looking for one like it ever since.
5)Now I can, see 3)
6)No catagorically
7)I did it my way
8)If talking the dog for a walk at 2am on a Sunday morning, dressed en femme but conservatively, is considered going out, then yes
9)The dog was,nt bothered AT all
10)see 2,3,&5
11)So I can talk to you lot
12)Now that is a good question, I have always loved the beautiful gowns the ballroom dancers wear, the options with such an outfit is somewhat limited however, so I think I would have to learn to dance

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

That's hard to say. There were two incidents in my early years that may have planted the seed in my mind, although I don't think either one could be pointed to as The Cause of it All. One was when my mom had me wear a pair of my sister's panties because all my underwear was in the laundry. I was somewhere between 5 and 8, I think. The second was when my sister talked me into dressing up for Halloween when I was ten. A friend of mine's mother was trying to talk him into doing it, so she called down to the house and wanted me to do it too so that he would go along with it. My older sister picked up the idea and worked on me until she got me to say yes. I didn't start voluntarily crossdressing until I was about 13 though.

2) Have you told anyone?

Yes, a few people know.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

Reactions range from supportive to accepting. Nothing negative, but I've only told people I thought would react well.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

The most accessible was underwear and panties. I had to go with what was available. (See the thread on borrowing.)

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

Semi-freely. That is, my wife helps me find opportunities, but for now I'm not fully out with the kids. They've seen me dress in "costumes" for parties, but I don't want to walk around the house dressed in front of them.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

Yes.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

By myself for years and years.

8) Have you ever ventured out?

Yes, but only as someone wearing a costume. I've never dressed in normal femme wear and gone to someplace like the mall.

9) What was the general reaction?

In the three times I've gone out as described above, the reaction was either nil or favorable.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

No, but there would be some family members who would disapprove if they knew.

11) Why do you dress?

I like it.

Hey, hey, hey...

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

I don't have a specific outfit in mind, but it would be something classy and flattering--skirt & blouse or dress, stockings, pumps, shapewear to give me hips, etc--that I could wear out to a nice restaurant and a play. I would have my wife take me out for a date along those lines, but in another town where she could relax and enjoy the evening without worrying about bumping into a coworker.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
When I was about 4, it just happened. I gravitated toward fem stuff.

2) Have you told anyone?
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
Yes, no, they told my friends and ruined my life.

Panties, slips, bras.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Yes, but not in front of the kids.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
She would have but she didn't know. She was a friend and she was into cd'ers. She would have pursued me instead of hinting around, but I'm married.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
By myself.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
9) What was the general reaction?

My friends who disowned me.

11) Why do you dress?
Cause I feel compelled to.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, etc. Classic dress, heels, expensive works all the way. I would take a country drive in the sun. :)

Hello Tara!
Welcome to the forum! I hope you get as much out of reading this group as I do. The people who offer opinions and stories here are just like you. For me that is refreshing and makes me feel better about myself. her are the answers to your questions:

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
When I was ten I put on my mothers nightgown and loved the feel. The same year I went to a Halloween parade dressed as a girl and loved it.
2) Have you told anyone?
My wife and several close friends know.
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
My friends all said so what, we are accepting and have no real reaction. My wife cannot accept it, hates Charlie and breaks down crying about it often
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
I loved nylons and silky tops. Now I love putting together outfits. My favorite heels are 4" and the right color for the outfit that I am wearing.

I dress freely about 5 days per month when I go out of town at an apartment comlex that I own. I become a woman for a week.

I always dressed by myself. It was my own dirty little secret. Now I have several CD friends.

I go out every time that I take the time to dress. I hated dressing as the best lady I could be and having nowhere to go.
9) What was the general reaction?
I always ge positive recognition for my outfits and general look. The best compliment I have gotten was that I looked "almost passable".
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
My wife.
11) Why do you dress?
I wish I knew. It feels right and balanced when I put on that last dab of lipstick and put on my red nails. I can't say why I feel better as a female rather then my male self.
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I would wear a tailored skirtsuit and go out to eat and attend a musical.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
As a teenager my father let his friend's daughter stay at our house. She was having trouble at home. He he liked having a daughter around the house so I tried to become one and started trying on my mother's clothes. I love how they felt and how I looked. It was fun and an absolute turn on seeing myself as a girl.

2) Have you told anyone?
The first person I'd told was a woman I lived with after we broke up. The next person was my present wife. Third was a woman who I developed a relationship with during my marriage. Last was my best friend who is gay.

3)Were the accepting / Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
The woman I lived with actually bought me some outfits after we broke up. I should have told her sooner. My wife is NOT I repeat NOT accepting at all. She throws it in my face all the time. My other female friend was curious when I told her and was dying to see me dressed. She did, but that was another story. My gay friend thought "so what".

4) As far as the the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Actually, anything as long as I am fully dressed. Red helps too, it is my favorite color. I love the feel of a nice short skirt, sexy top, my bra strap cutting into my shoulder, pantyhose and high heels. my hair brushing in my shoulders and the tste of my lipstick on m lips.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
It is impossible for me to dress right now. I fill my fanasty on www.taaz.com and www.faceinhole.com and play with the virtual me.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
My lady friend loved it , it really turned her on. She loved seeing me and being with me while i was dressed. she would buy me dresses to try on and bring them back to the store.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
Alone

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes as a teen I walked around en femme.... crazy now that I think of it. Went out twice on Holloween and for a drive or two as an adult (another crazy stunt)

9) What was the general reaction?
None

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?.
Did I say my wife...... well my wife 1000% disapproving

11) Why do you dress?
It is a sexual thing and a soothing harmless hobby. It feels good to escape into my female persona.... and the clothes feel so so good. When I dressed daily I got passed the sexual part. I'd tuck myself back up and stay dressed all day around the house. It was tough cleaning in a skirt and heels... but of so much fun.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I wish you were offering.....A cute red dress that hugged my corsetted and veronica'ed curves... matching shoes and auburn hair...... I'd take dozens of pictures and post a real photo of me here.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

My mother would dress me up in my sisters clothes around ages 3-6. Crazy, I know.
I fell in love with the velvety dresses, the binding silky tights, and the mary jane shoes.
I recall laying on the floor rubbing my legs together marveling at the sensation.

One night I went into the closet and pulled out a pair of white tights (age 7 or so) I was severely scolded.
Confusing....

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
Heck NO they haven't been accepting even though I done it for a number of years my sister never was accepting. 6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
NO

Other than my older sister dressing me as a girl one time, I have done everthing else by myself.
8) Have you ever ventured out?
YES

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Family and probably a few friends
11) Why do you dress?
Feels like the right thing to do.
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
A childhood friend of mine brushed against me in a bikini, walking on an especially narrow pool-side walkway. The feeling of the bikini material struck me immediately and I desperately wanted to know what it felt like to wear that. Then after wearing it wanted to know what it felt like filled out like a woman...

2) Have you told anyone?
Nope, not a soul.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
-

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
The bikini that I "borrowed" from the friend in number 1 when I was 12

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Im not stuck in a situation where I cant dress, I live with my parents and brother.. and while we're a close, loving family, we dont bother each other much. So if I go in my bedroom I can be dressed for hours without being bothered at all... so not exactly freely, but not prevented.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
Nobody knows about it

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
Totally alone, and I was happy with it

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Nope, and I dont want to... Im totally happy with what I can do in my bedroom, it's more about the feeling of "being" for me, rather than being seen or passing.

9) What was the general reaction?
-

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Nobody knows about it!

11) Why do you dress?
I wanted to know so bad what it felt like to be in a bikini top and bottom, to feel the material, and what it's like to feel as a woman does. And that let me to wanting to fill out the bikini, and eventually other articles. I enjoy the relative tightness of feminine clothing as compared to my male wardrobe.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I would take the forms... I want breast forms so badly to feel more complete in my dress. I used water balloons a few times when I was younger (lol) but now Im starting to rediscvoer my desire for this and I need a more valid method.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
My grandmother got me started and my curiosity took it from there.

2) Have you told anyone?
My immediate family close friends and my SO know.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
Disbelief first, Questions second, Shock third, Acceptance fourth

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Panties and Strappy Heels

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
Not freely but I have alot of opportunities to do so

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
My gay friends and other Crossdressers were really supportive. They still give me so much strength.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
See question one. It started with pantyhose and it just grew from there.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes, very exciting. Especially during Halloween!

9) What was the general reaction?
Mostly none, but it depends on what I'm wearing. If it's really sexy I get alot of puzzled confused looks.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
Not really, But I try to stay away from kids, parents and older people.

11) Why do you dress?
Because it's so much FUN! And the variety of choices is so awesome. I'm one of the few men I know that completely understands why women buy so many shoes.:heehee:

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

Underwear and shoes from Fredericks. Corset top with matching leather mini preferebly in red. Strawberry Blond wig and Mac makeup. I would get professional pictures taken and since I had the makeup and everything I would probably bring my own clothes to take pictures in them too. After I was exhausted from that I would probably party till dawn going just about everywhere.:D

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
It's hard to tell. I remember myself wearing my mom's panties when I was 6 or 7. I may have done that even before. Whatever it was, I can't put my finger on it.

2) Have you told anyone?
Not really. My wife knows that I dress and I do that in front of her. She accepted that as a part of our sex life but she's OK if I underdress daily or dress at home at other times. I never told her about my history before her and I purged before moving in with her. Nobody else knows, however I always had the feeling that my mother may suspect something. And, of course, all of you girls.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?
My wife accepted it. But, again, I didn't really opened up to her and told her everything in detail. I started by wearing her clothes while having sex or, typically, waiting for her in bed with her panties and nightgown while she was taking a shower. Just to keep them warm for her.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?
Panties and slips.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?
With kids at home, it's not easy.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
Not that I can remember.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?
I'm pretty sure I started by myself.

8) Have you ever ventured out?
Yes, but it was very limited and without public.

9) What was the general reaction?
No reaction.

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
No.

11) Why do you dress?
I feel good doing it. I have no other way to explain it.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?
I'd like something with a blouse and a straight skirt, not too formal, and just an inch heels. There's something about that outfit that stuck with me since my childhood. Kind of the image of the woman of that time, sober, discrete, elegant and yet feminine.

Quite a variety of questions for today's survey it seems.....

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

A little bedroom play when I was in my early 40's.

2) Have you told anyone?

My wife, two daughters, son-in-law, wife's two friends, my hair stylist and good friend, assorted SAs, other cd'ers, and probably dozens that my youngest daughter has told in the weeks that she has known.

3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

Not a bad reaction yet. Pushing the odds. Everything has been positive and supportive.

4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

I'd say bras. Mixed it up though.

5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

Mostly. Not out to the world, but I can dress around the house at will as long as only my wife or daughters are here. Not in front of the grandkids or most friends yet.

6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

Wife and older daughter do. Helped me get out more then I already was.

7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

My wife helped me with clothes shopping. Make-up was on my own until the friend that knows gave me a lesson.

8) Have you ever ventured out?

Yes

9) What was the general reaction?

A few noticed. Mostly indifference. I always joke about each time out almost always running to one lady (not the same one) that will notice and have this paniced look while poking their husband furiously. High comedy!

10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

Not yet.

11) Why do you dress?

It feels right. Some self expression.

12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

Tough one to think of on the fly. I think a (semi-)formal night out would be great. A photoshoot wouldn't be bad either.

1) q What started you on the path to Crossdressing?
a Being sexually abused as a kid, dressed in his sister's clothes, told that god made a mistake and that I was really supposed to be a girl. You can read the entire tale by clicking on the link in my sig.
2) q Have you told anyone?
a Told my ex wife (who divorced me because of it), told my mom (who likes to pretend it doesn't exist), told my sister (who was mortified and has pretty much avoided any contact with me ever since).
3) q accepting?
a No. Hell no.
q What was their reaction?
a Horrified look on their faces. Ex wife went to couples therapy with me for a while, but really couldn't accept it. Family likes to pretend the discussion never happened.
4) q favorite article of clothing?
a His sister's cheerleader uniform. I still like those uniforma; I feel pretty and desirable when wearing one.
5) q Can you dress freely?
a I live alone. I dress as a female whenever I'm home alone.
6) q Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?
a Other than my abuser, no.
7) q did somebody help you along?
a At first, he just asked me to wear the female clothing. He was my only friend, so I would do whatever he asked. Later, as he became interested in GG's, I felt I was losing my only friend, and only source of physical affection; I started initiating the dressing up because I knew it was what he wanted. At that point I had convinced myself that he was right, and I was trying to be the best girl that I could, in hopes that god would notice me and fix me.
8) q Have you ever ventured out?
a only to take a midnight ride in my car, and that was nearly disastrous, so I haven't repeated it.
9) q What was the general reaction?
a I drove an exotic car; I was noticed by some younger men and they followed me for quite a while, trying to get my attention. I think they thought I was a GG and figured since I was driving a fast car, they might have something in common with me. I was terrified that if they found out I was a guy, I might get beaten or killed.
10) q Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?
a Ex wife, family members.
11) q Why do you dress?
a Short answer is that I feel like I'm supposed to dress, and behave as a girl. Long story is pages long, read the posts referenced in my sig.
12) q Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit
a I have most of the clothes I want. Like many, I dream about a wedding gown, but it's really impractical to wear, so I wouldn't get much use out of it or get to wear it very often. Taking it to the cleaners isn't something I want to do, as I'm still in the closet.

Me?...Don't know.
Sorry I skipped the questions.
I like the clothes. All I know is I just want to be that....you know, whatever it is that women do.
I'm a guy? Oh, yeah, I forgot.
Being a guy is not so bad. I decided I'm not going to give that up.
Whatever happens in my life day by day, I can deal with. If I'm out somewhere in a cocktail dress on a Saturday night, I'm happy :)

A little survey for all of us.

1) What started you on the path to Crossdressing? It's hard to say. I began noticing things as early as 5 or 6 years of age but didn't act on it until I was about 10 or 11. After that it was just like any trip, one foot after the other.
2) Have you told anyone? My wife and other crossdressers.
3) Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction? For my wife it was Shock at first, then investigation and finally acceptance. She believes that my feminine side is one of the things that makes me such a good husband. She wasn't really pleased that I hid it from her for so long, but all is good now.
4) As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)? whatever I could get my hands on
5) Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress? I can dress at home when we believe no visitors will drop by. I dress for support group meetings and when we are out of town.
6) Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing? Of course the voices in my head had a lot to do with it, but I always received good advice and support from my friends on line.
7) When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How? I can't blaime anyone else. It's all my fault.
8) Have you ever ventured out? sure. back yard, then to the ice machine from my room at motels and now I'll go just about anywhere, out of town.
9) What was the general reaction? Everything from being ignored to being laughed at. Mostly people are in their own world and don't pay much attention.
10) Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing? the people who laughed at me and a young man at the Bellagio in Las Vegas who had seen just a few too many men in dresses for that day. He was a little put out I guess, but it sounded like a personal problem to me and I went about my business.
11) Why do you dress? because I'll get arrested if I go out naked? Oh, in woman's clothing, right? It feels very good, very comfortable and very natural to me. It is a puzzle that I've decided not to try and solve.
12) Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit? I'd love to be a bride. Of course I'd love to be 5 inches shorter and 70 pounds lighter too with a smaller nose, hands and feet. It ain't gonna happen, so I'll just dress to blend and enjoy myself.

I was going to say something about the woman in a leather corset who put a gun to my head and forced me to dress as her maid for 3 months, but no one would believe me, so I invented the rest of the answers instead of going with the truth this time.

A little survey for all of us.

What started you on the path to Crossdressing?

I didn’t like my boy clothes.

Have you told anyone?

I don’t have to. It’s obvious.

Were they/ Have they been accepting? What was their reaction?

Some like it. Some hate it. Some are indifferent. Some aren’t sure about it. Some assume I’m queer. Some assume I’m very queer. Some cannot leave me alone. Some leave me alone. Some ignore me. Some want to beat me up. Some want to beat it out of me. Some want to love me. Some want to beat me up, then love me.

As far as the early stages of your dressing go, what was your favorite article of clothing or shoes (Color, material, etc.)?

A dress or a skirt.

Can you dress freely? Or are you stuck in a situation where you can't dress?

I can dress freely a good portion of the time.

Did anyone ever encourage your crossdressing?

Certain family members encourage me, along with some friends. I encourage myself, mainly.

When you started, did you do it by yourself, or did somebody help you along? How?

I got help from a family member. I was quite young.

Have you ever ventured out?

All the time.

What was the general reaction?

Shock, disgust, fear, loathing, amazement, disbelief, ignorance, and begrudging acceptance. I honestly don’t care about what people think. I like to encourage reactions.

Was there anybody who disapproves of your dressing?

Most of the world. Why do you think I’m here?

Why do you dress?

I must.

Say that somebody offers you 1 free outfit (Clothes, Hosiery, shoes, Mani/Pedi, Hair, makeup done by professional artist, forms) with no strings attached- What would you pick to wear, How would you use the outfit?

I would choose the outfit and “look” according to the situation I envision, keeping my age in mind, and I would use it to express myself.
