Hi all,its been a while since i last posted lots going on,anyway the reason for this post,is there some law out there that says being TS means every git on the planet can delay, lose, ohh its just in my in tray today, ohh they should have done that, sorry who are you,etc etc bleeping etc,i am so fed up being out there doing as much as i can to change my gender markers, being full time, get a job ahhhhh that's a pain anyone gone for a UK,CRB.

Now i have a GIC letter with a 3 month overdue appointment date due to arrive in 2 weeks,if that turns up i will be amazed,i have gone through hell for months with no dam help from anyone,i did have a therapist but to be honest i think there nuts!! maybe i had a weird one who knows.

So the GIC if they mess me around anymore i think i may just loose it,i am tired,i do have the strength to carry on but being side tracked by being ignored and having to cover old ground again and again is very wearing on me,most of this could have been avoided if i had money,so i have descend into hell, feeling sorry for myself no,the TS route is hard yes i know, should it be so bad that so many do not make it and only people with money can advance, its wrong so wrong.

I am sorry but all the pro TS tripe i have had to endure "government propaganda"
about all the help out there for us is nothing but wasted ink, going through this process has opened my eyes to the sheer lack of help there is for us.

I have, in the past, had to go through the long, tedious and frustrating process of getting a visa to visit the UK. (Not for gender issues, though.)

Don't take it personally. I think they deliberately make things difficult, in order to weed out those who are not totally commited to the reason for the trip.

Katie not sure where in the UK you are but my SO Nigella is attending Leeds GIC, and has had nothing but complete help and we're not doing it privately but via the NHS.

Exeter is my GIC catchment area,as regard the hassle i have had, from lack of knowlage from two GPs to missing data to non returned calls, letters etc, chasing everyone allways, everyones path is diffrent i suppose,i just hope no one else has the same c*ap i have had this last nearly 12 months,i have to fight every dam step of the way,and i feel i am being played with as a cat tortures a mouse.

Not all people have a good time trying to get there life sorted (fact) and i am one of them, people do not like to hear the bad storys only the airy fairy i had a great time with everyone being so helpful, well i am a little peed off,and yes i know a few TS who have had more or less the same bad things happen to them,is that ok to do to a human?

So what happens to the TS who just gives up,maybe seen as the runt of the litter,or maybe not as strong as your average male, the system seems very cold to me,maybe i expected to much to be treated as a human.

Before i started out on the TS route i read the net, stories of good and bad transitions etc, guess what the bad points are still there.

Most have a hellish time comming out, home, GPs, work etc,but during all this you have to keep it together not get angry be a model citizen when the whole world is taking a bite out of you,or face the label of being unstable, and have to wait longer for help, the whole system feels very male dominated to me 1950s era.

I would like to see GPs given a data pack to give to TS on the first visit to a practice, with a guide on waiting times, what to do during your wait for a GIC first appointment, also free therapy in your area for those who are poor, with a monthly check in with your GP untill you go to the GIC,also local TS groups in your area, these things would of helped me a lot at the first stages of going fulltime, but alas i had to find things out the hard way.

Good idea, hon.

Why don't you do this? You could write up a fact sheet with some advice and distribute it to physicians in your area. What a valuable service that would be.
