I'll try to keep this short but, I have a hard time at times doing that, I'm a talker..

Been dressing completely for along time and a handful times a year, I get away for a weekend to be free to dress and venture out. Next weekend is my next trip, being Sat Eve is the day before Halloween seems to make it a bit easier.

I drive a couple hrs. from my home to Newburgh, NY for my outings.

2 reasons I choose there is, its far away enough for me to be comfortable and the hotel/motel there, even though the rooms have the entrance door from a inner hallway, have patio doors right out to the parking lot.

That's for the chicken part of me, and taking that step out the that door is at times tough. I must look funny, I step outside and back in and if someone saw me doing that would think that's much more peculiar than maybe they would think of dressing.

I want more.....I want to go out for a drink and to sit a bit.

I have searched the WorldWideWeb with no solutions so, I ask for advice here.

Does anyone from that area or, maybe someone who would know a good website for information, know how I would find a CD friendly club, bar or something where I could at least feel a bit more at ease?

I am a after dark CD, just due to the fact I feel more comfortable for now.
Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

So looking forward to next weekend, Thanks , Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

Several weeks ago i was away on a business trip and was just a little bit south of Newburgh. While there, I met Leann for an evening and we went out for dinner and shopping. We went to the Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall for a little shopping and then down the road to Uno for dinner. Both are fun places to go and we felt totally comfortable all evening. If you are not familiar with Woodbury Commons, it is an outlet center with several hundred stores. It is almost impossible not to find something to buy. If you want a nice lounge to visit, I spent a evening at the lounge in the Sheraton hotel on Route 17 North in Mahwah, NJ. This hotel is about 30 miles south of where route 84 crosses the NY Thruway. Hope this helps...

Bonnie,
Here is the other half of Nicole's reply replying :). I agree with Nicole and would add the following. Just put on something that you might be more comfortable wearing that you feel would attract less attention. It could be a long skirt or even pants. Going to a mall like Woodbury helps because it is an outside mall and people tend not to linger outside - especially as it gets colder. You would be free to walk around all you want and go into a store as you feel comfortable. Almost any chain restaurant has taught their employees to respect diversity however it is presented and we are surely a diverse group! So don't worry about going to one of these restaurants either. Nicole and I had a good time in spite of the rain showers and my being late.

The first step is hard but the second is easier.

Thanks Leann. Woodbury Commons sounds like the answer. Even if I just window shop its getting out.

I am so excited, I found a place down state NY to go sat night. NYS thruway exit 18 there's a place called Primetime and Sat eve is their Halloween party. Is a local gay/Trans club and I emailed the owners? and inquired about CD friendliness and they said " no problem, Sat will be fantastic". Looking so forward to it AND I went to Penney's today and tried on a pair of Female jeans,,,,,, did not fit right though. Going back tomorrow to try on more.......EXCITED BONNIE
