Is there anyone who has reached full stage 5 breasts in their development under HRT? I am currently wearing a 38C cup bra, with medium sized gel packs (about one half bagel size) and fill it completely. Genetically, I am predisposed between a C and a D cup. Common knowledge says Transwomen cannot reach full stage 5 after 40. I just received my letter and have my appointment with my family doctor on Tuesday.

Anyone?

Not me and I certainly do not know any who have reached Tanner stage 5. Myself, I would like to reach stage 4 where my areolae are raised above on there own mound separate from the breasts tissue. Right now I am a full 36B or 34C (either fit) and I have been on HRT 8 months.

That's the breath of my breast knowledge as it relates to transsexuals.

That is not true Kathryn, I know a local trans-woman who started HRT when she was 50 and would have breast close to stage 5 on the Tanner scale already and that just after almost 2 years on hormones. Breast growth varies because of so many other variables that simply cannot be defined. Some grow bigger and faster than others due to dosages, genetics & naturally occurring hormones.

And for this reason I also dont know how you can figure you are predisposition to being between a C & D cup because in natal females mothers and daughters often vary... My mother was a full D cup, however my sister was a A to B cup but has since had breast augmentation a few years ago and is more equal to my mother's size now. Now take a look at this photo of me for example (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/showthread.php?142150-Body-size-Cup-size&p=2304889&viewfull=1#post2304889)... this is my natural breasts about 3 months ago & about 2 weeks BEFORE I even started HRT. (I was born intersexed & that is why I already have female breasts) But still there are no guarantees or expectations that I'm going to finish up a D cup & 5 on the Tanner scale. So I am just going to let nature now take is course and just see what I finish up with.

I really would not be too concerned about breast size at this very early stage of your transitioning and you should let nature just take its course. If after a few years on HRT then if you want to consider breast augmentation then fair enough. Worrying about breast size at these early stages is just going to cause you lots of unnecessary worry & quite possibly even depression further down the track if you have any preconceived notions about what your breast size should be. Youve got more important things to worry about like what is going to happen to your emotions, especially when coming out to family & friends etc. when you start on hormones, worrying about such issues like breast size will only make transitioning so much harder to deal with.

Kathryn,

All of us different, and I think it is impossible to predict the outcome. I am now 55 and have been on HRT for 14 months. Today I was at the doctor with my daughter and read the report from my last mammogram. It explained benign growth of mammary gland consistent with breast growth from HRT. Like you I was worried if my breasts were going to grow and how they would look. When I look at the pictures of the tanner scale and try to compare that to what I see in the mirror, I would guess I am currently at stage 3 now. I nearly fill a C cup with my left breast, and over half way with my right(most women have breast different sizes) an my shape is very close to the picture too.

I have read and been told that it takes at least 3 years to see all the changes and I am just past half of that.

So enjoy the changes as they start to happen and just go with is as it comes along.

Veronica

Kathryn,

I've been on hormone therapy for almost 14 years and transitioned 12 years ago. At 62 I am stage five on the Tanner Scale or at least that is what my Dr. told me about three years ago when I asked him about that after I read about it. How any woman develops whether GG or TS is dependent on their individual genetic makeup. No two women are the same.

Thanks everyone for your input. I know of course that it is impossible to predict the outcome and degree of development. My concern was related to the statement that Stage 5 could not be reached by Transwomen. Breasts as a secondary gender marker play an important part for me in feeling congruent. I feel the same way about my face and body shape (except of course my frame) and am looking forward to those changes. Having spent a lifetime, working on evolving Kathryn and having me finally present my self to the world, the need for me to present myself in a congruent way is great. Part of that is that when I look at myself in the mirror, I need to be happy with how I look on the outside. My inside is quite beautiful if I may say so myself:o:D
