View Full Version : Rain
Engendered

It struck me today as I was walking to the local store in the pouring rain (I was in guy mode completely btw) that I had my umbrella pulled quite close to my face, and that I had to occasionally lift it to make sure not to accidentally bump into anyone.
Anyway, it struck me that this may be advantageous to those of us who are almost to the point of going outside in the daytime, but are still a little paranoid about our look. In the rain, and with an umbrella, it is quite easy to block your face from view from any particular person, and the rain also adds another level of distraction to keep people preoccupied.
Obviously, I think we should all be bold and step out unhindered into the sunlight, but perhaps this might be a stepping stone in between for some? Anyway, this is just an idea I had (that maybe others have had before me too) :)

I remember when I first went out during the day. It was really cold and I had a big coat on which I felt gave me some security.

Some years ago, I would carry an umbrella for this purpose. With the rain coming down in buckets and the umbrella up, no one really bothered to see who was underneath and I walked along en femme with a feeling of confidence in my weathered concealment.

Clever thinking, consider the idea noted. Now then, anyone know where one can get the James Bond model umbrella? Come across some drunken, unruly males
wanting to harass you, just press the little button and give em a little ZAP.

Where would you go?

If there was an ideal time it might be on a rainy Sunday just before dawn. Very few people out - if any - that early and in the pouring rain. A turn around the neighbourhood in semi-darkness with an umbrella. Just need a good winter coat or rain coat, some outdoor footwear and who knows? Not one of my stronger ambitions but worth thinking about.
Perhaps just keep your head up enough so as not to be startled by the companions of avid dog walkers. Might utter something "unladylike".
Nice idea, Engendered. :)

I've used this 'trick' and it works great!
There are some times when I want to go out for a quick stroll in the evening, but don't have the time or will to do much with makeup. By dressing then putting on a rain coat and carrying an umbrella, you can be pretty darned anonymous. Just angle the edge of the umbrella down a bit more, and you can even stroll right past other pedestrians with no worries. :)

Interesting idea! ... I would never of thought about that as going out in the rain would probably not appeal to me but if (as you mention) "those of us who are almost to the point of going outside in the daytime, but are still a little paranoid about our look" wanted a "crutch" this is a good one

I mentioned before that I have taken a stroll in a gentle rain with an umbrella. Yes, the umbrella is used to hide my face. But, what I really find great is the feeling of a cool refreshing breeze blowing up my dress. I prefer a knee length dress with a shorter raincoat. The cool air is absolutely stimulating. However, I wouldn't want to go out in a driving hard rain. I would also consider going out in a dress in a gently falling snow with a scarf over most of my head and face. It may even be fun to experience a freezing evening, so I could understand my wife's dislike years ago of cold weather while wearing a short dress and waiting for public transportation. Brrrr!

Always thinkin', I like your style!!!
Let me guess, you live in the midwest or east? hehehe
I guess those of us that don't see much rain, could just put on the rain-gear and stand in the yard while the sprinkler system is on everynight... Hey, my neighbors would just cast it off as another peculiar trait of that eccentric weirdo down the street...:heehee:

I wouldn't think your own neighborhood would be the best place to walk regardless of rain, snow, fog, etc. People are curious when they see a stranger in their neighborhood and might want to talk to see who you are. Before dawn is also suspect.
I'm thinking a public park where no one is likely to know you. The heart of a large city would work as well. I'm also thinking sunglasses would hide your identity as well as eyes and eyebrows.

This is pretty much how I started going out 'dressed.' But it was night time too and raining. Guess we all had to start somewhere.

Anyone who looks like you should ditch the umbrella, unless it’s raining, of course, and show your face as often as possible. How about transgendered expression with an umbrella – use a parasol, on a bright, sunny day, shyly revealing your countenance now and then? On second thought, maybe that would attract attention and be counter-productive. People need to be distracted at all times, you know.

One Sunday morning I awoke early and had the strong urge to dress (kinda like being horney) and as dangerous and scary as it was I also needed to go out in fem. The weather was misty, dreary and cloudy. So I started by putting on a black thong panty, matching black lace bra, D breast forms, black straight skirt, yellow womens tee and 4" black heels. I slipped on a light jacket to hide the boobs and went through the McDonalds drivein line, the cashier didn't even give me a second look. After I had eaten the food I made the risky decision to get out of my car and walk across the parking lot to dispose of the trash. It felt great, walking in heels and straight skirt and the jiggle and weight of my breasts. After successfully pulling this off I really needed/wanted more. I drove past a strip shopping mall and decided to walk along the front of the stores knowing that early Sunday morning there wouldn't be anyone there. My big surprise was seeing my reflection in the glass front of the stores. It was like WOW. Curvy, sexy and very feminine. It was so exciting I didn't want to leave. When I got back home the hardest thing I did that day was to have to undress.
