Here I am watching the greatest number one singles ever, and I had this thought, my teenage years was the era of the late seventies to the mid eighties.
Now to my recollection this was a time of such groups as the Sex Pistols, Boomtown rats,of the punk era threw to Adam and the Ants, Human league and Culture Club and dance groups such as Hot Gossip.
I also remember that this was time when the girls had a real girlie look about them, that was sophisticated and elegant, and boys wore make up in public and dressed to the point and passed it to look feminime. and although not excepted by the older generation it was tolerated.
My point to this is, that although I had been dressing by this point for many years I felt that I could also push the boudaries like everyone else without actually wearing drab clothes everyday and in public you didn't get a second look even with abit of eye shadow and blusher on.
So even now I still like wearing fashion from the early 80's.
Is anyone else influenced in how they dress now because of the era they grew up in?
I would love to see pictures of now and then.especaily as this could be abit of fun for all to see after a few postings I'll post mine.
