The other day I got an appointment to see the Clincal Nurse Specialist in December. Sandra was a little surprised because we were told that our next appointment would coincide with my initial appointment with the Endo. This could have been anytime up to the end of Feb next year due to waiting lists.
As soon as I saw the date, Tue 21st Dec, I knew what that meant. It was 95% certain that would be the date I saw the Endo. I remember the CNS saying that the Endo usually visited that clinic on Tuesdays. Well yesterday the appointment letter came through, I would be seeing the Endo at 1pm and then the CNS at 2pm.
Whilst the journey has been a long one, it has also been a short one. It has taken umpteen years to get to the stage where I accepted who I was, now it has been a short 7 months from the inital appointment to see the Gender Identity Service to being accepted by the Endo for possible hormone therapy.
Looks like it was time to leave the B road and join the motorway.
