Hi Lisa, :welcom: to the forums from another UK girl. Once you get to know us a bit better, I hope you'll feel like telling us a bit more about yourself. You will find that we can be quite a friendly bunch of people around here so don't be afraid to join in the fun.
You have made me extremely jealous as I have been trying to get an appointment at Charing Cross for over 5 months but my PCT is playing silly people with my application, still it's nice to hear from someone who made it!
Thank you, I will tell you more about myself I used to live in Redhill Surrey about 6 years ago now living in Gosport Hampshire I am 48 married with 3 kids . I fill lucky as they have all excepted me. For many years I was blocking all of my feeling out which built up over the years until I could not take any more, I felt all alone my wife told me to see my doctor he sent me to Charringcross last June, they told me to start dressing in a safe zone until I found a style i was happy with then go out to a cafe, also told me to change my name and tell my place of work what I was doing. So I told every body I knew what I was doing. August I changed my name and title started dressing 24/7. October back up to Charingcross dressed in a skirt and blouse, doctor told me that I had made a large jump and was going writing to my doctor to put me on Hormones,I was told I would have to wait about 4 to 5 long weeks so things should start to happen soon I hope.I hope you get your appointment soon they seem to be very friendly but its a long wait for appointments, my next apointment is in March next year
Thank you I need friends and support , for many years I felt all alone and now I know I was so wrong Thank you
Thank you Sharon I hope I can get to know you. Now I will know 3 Sharons my wife her best friend and you
Thank you Teri for your warm welcome I have waited along time for my journey which has only just started in August and all ready I feel better in my self
Hello Cystalann Thank you, I hope we can make friends I do not know any body who is in the same situation as me until now

I used to live in Redhill Surrey about 6 years ago
You might have noticed the fuss in the press about 2 months ago when the MP for Reigate,Redhill and Banstead came out as gay and announced he was divorcing his wife. The reports also made mention that his Labour opponent at the last election had announced the intention to become a woman (to use their expression) - that was me!
