I've read a few posts since I've joined the forum mentioning this. How do you define it? Is it the effects of testosterone on your body? Or is there a psychological element to it as well?
Thanks

I would say both. It's the effect that having testosterone in your blood for your whole life has had on you.

Testerone poisoning is very evident. Just watch some sports events, Wrestling, Wall street, and other such things. LOL
School yard bullies also suffer from this ailment. ;)

Not only did it poison my body and mind, but just knowing it was doing that caused additional emotional stress :p

Hi.
Our bodys need both thatll depend on wether we are male or female ,about 34 nmol for male , female about 1.25 nmol give or take depending on the person . mine is about 0 . 9 nmol , remember these are not the only hormones in our bodys & if you have a look on the net check them out .
look under hormones
As we age our rates go down & can cause a lot of problems, male & female ,
I know its stated as poisoning . i dont go with that as such because of the way our bodys are we need some other wise our bodys would fail so really you need to look at the whole detail not just one as some do. i need my T & both as a male & a woman As well as E.& all the others,
& the way the body functions. thats to much of a sweeping statment to make with out the facts. too much is not good nore is too little ,

Testosterone poisoning is a pejorative neologism that refers not to actual poisoning, but to a negative perception of stereotypical aspects of male behavior. This speculative and controversial expression is based on a belief that men and boys with more masculine traits have more negative traits than they would otherwise. The term capitalizes on the perception that masculinity is controlled by the androgen testosterone

I firmly believe now that Testosterone is a very dangerous chemical & many people are harmed every year as a result
of testosterone. The first thing people need to remember is that it is the most powerful steroid known to mankind.
Over recent months I have learnt a lot about testosterone and it's side affects when levels of this male hormone get dangerously high.
I asked a female to male transsexual I know recently in my local transsexual support group what was the
most noticeable things that he noticed when he started on male hormone therapy when he started his
transitioning & his answer was very short & straight to the point - he said he wanted to fight everyone.
It became even more obvious to me why two other people I know, one male, the other have serious mental health issues - both of these people have been diagnosed with bipolar affective mood disorder with an organic component where they are both extremely irritable & aggressive. Both of these people have a high sex drive and their regular medication (Seroquel, Tegretol & Effexor) doesn't seem to be very effective in regulating their irritability and aggressiveness which I am now starting to believe is attributed to high testosterone levels.
Why both these two people are similar in their mental condition although members of opposite sexes relates to the fact that both
of these people have suffered severe head injuries that resulted in damage to the pituitary gland which controls their hormone levels.
I now understand that this is the 'organic component' behind their Bipolar Affective Mood Disorders.
In the case of the male - this guy is on Male Hormone Replacement therapy because his pituitary gland doesn't regulate his testosterone levels properly and he was starting to naturally feminise because of high oestrogen levels & low testosterone levels. He is meant to only be using one Testosterone Gel Pack a day according to his prescription, however he admitted to me he uses two gel packs because he said it makes him feel stronger & more horny. I personally found this guy to be a total nut-case, he drinks excessively and tried to get violent with me when I refused his persistent sexual advances. He wouldn't stop trying to sexually harass me to the point he was trying to rape me. He was also being extremely violent in his rape attempt until I hit him that hard using my elbows & busted his head open & knocking him completely senseless & almost unconscious.
In the case of the female - she has become a real tomboy in her behaviour & in the things she does with herself. This girl is very strong physically & likes to work out in the gym. She is also bisexual and has an unusually high sex drive for a female & is always very irritable & often gets very aggressive & violent in her behaviour. I am starting to see a pattern here where believe now that this is related to her damaged pituitary gland which is not regulating her testosterone like it should be. Her parents even told me once that the head injury she received changed her behaviour dramatically from being a girly girl to becoming a real tomboy. I have been suggesting to this woman who is also a friend of mine that she should get her hormone levels checked because I think her testosterone levels are very high & are the underlying cause of her mental health issues. Maybe she might need an anti-androgen to bring her testosterone levels down to a normal sort of level. Her face is becoming more masculine in her general features although she can't see it. She has a higher than normal amount of facial hair and I believe in another 10 years she will have to start shaving or waxing if something isn't done. When I explained all this to her she said she doesnt want to have her hormones tested because she like having higher than normal testosterone levels.
Neither of these people have expressed any desire to transition, but both seem to be living very risky & dangerous lifestyles because they are addicted to testosterone. Trying to get these two people to do something about their problems is similar to trying to stop someone abusing steroids. I think in cases like this the courts need to intervene and order hormone level testing because of the danger that these people present to others & themselves.
