Our association is having a Halloween party and Penny and I are planning to attend. I'm planning to wear my Dorothy costume from The Wizard of Oz that I purchased a few months ago. Now...at the time I ordered the costume, the ruby red shoes weren't available in my size...which happens to be 11. So I have the company put me on a list to contact me by e-mail when they are back in stock. I got an e-mail about a week ago saying that they were now available, so I went ahead and ordered them. Well...today I received my shoes...erm...one size 11 right shoe...and one size 10...RIGHT SHOE!!! And on top of that...neither size fit either...not even CLOSE! Needless to say, I am sending them back and getting a credit to my credit card...and they better damn well include the shipping cost in the credit too cause I'm definitely asking them for it! Unfreakinbelievable eh? It kinda makes you wonder just what the employee who packed this order was "on" when they packed it doesn't it?:bonk:
I swear it seems sometimes that this could only happen to me!

Just keep clickin' those heels together, honey. It'll be alright. You could always go as Daisy Mae... don't need any shoes with that costume:D !

(Shoe goddess)Well...I wear a 9 and a half male size so apparently I should have gone up to a 12 in women's even though all my other shoes are size 11. I found a pair that I like even better with another company that has a 2" shorter heel so today I ordered from them in a size 12 since these type of shoes apparently run on the smaller size.
But hey...thanks for the link sis.;)

Those kind of shoes yes you will have to go up a notch on size. Plus didn't Dorothy wear socks? :whistling

That rule never works for me. I wear an 8EE in men's and a 9B in women's. Okay, I do have to do a little squeezing on the width but wides are hard to find in the styles I like. But as far as length, 9 is perfect. I've tried 9-1/2 and they are too big. So that add 2 or 3 sizes just doesn't work for me.
Oh, and Christine, about your experience, an old boss of mine was fond of saying, "You pay peanuts and you get monkeys to work for you".

Yeah...first time that has happened with a size 11 for me though. But that's always the risk when you buy from a catalog or online.
Oh...and funny joke there sis...thanks...I needed that!;) :p

Just make your own. Get some of the dyeable shoes and superglue sequins on them. Better get started.

Go to payless and buy some cheap ones that fit. Slather them down with elmers gel glue and a good thick sprinkle of red glitter. They will be all sparkly like Dorothys. I did this for my daughter many years back and it worked like a charm. Don't get patient leather type shoes the glue does not stick as well, if that's all you can find then rough them up with some sandpaper.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you Christine. They better make sure they make it up to you somehow by maybe adding a pair of light blue socks :D

Sent the shoes back today ladies. I enclosed a rather terse explanation of why I was returning the shoes including the very obvious "mistake" that was made! I ordered a new pair...ones actually that I like much better...from a competitor.
One thing that I did in the original order that I am very glad I did was to request an e-mail so that I can rate this merchant. I promise you that it will not be a very pleasant experience...or rating...from the Chrissie Bear!!! GRRRRRRR!!!

Christine, all - you may not have heard (Well, one of us might already have known, but I know it wasn't you, Christine, since they're size 5 1/2s! :p ), but the original Ruby Slippers were stolen recently... (http://www.judygarlandmuseum.com/)
