View Full Version : High Heels and the Pied Piper effect..............

With the cold weather upon us, and the many recent "High Heel" related threads, it appears many of our thoughts have been going back to our "roots", namely thoughts of "High Heels"........So, I would like to know how many of you have fallen victim to the Pied Piper effect ? Simply, gone out of your way to identify the source of the "high heel melody" ?........ You know being in a supermarket or store and hear the Pied Piper calling you (click, clack) then went out of your way to see who was playing your tune ? Still one of my favorite reasons to shop !!

Great analogy Madilyn!! I am absolutely hypnotized by the sound of heels click-clacking on a hard floor or concrete. It's definitely sweet music to my ears.

Too many times. It's one of my strongest fetishes. ;)

It's just a shame that metal tips on heels have given way to the plastic ones, as the metal resonates way more on a hard surface.

I will remember the Pied Piper Effect trademark (© Madilyn A) forever now.

Oh, yes, I've stopped what I was doing in a store, or even in my office, many times to track down the source of those arresting high heel clicks I've heard passing by.

Guilty of this pleasure :) I mentioned one of my work events on 20sGirl's Thread..but that source of the sound was known. Still guilty of walking a few isles while shopping to find the owners of that sweet sound, except nowadays its a mix of identifying the person and seeing what style of shoe they are :) On one such occasion, I was at Wally World when that sweet sound hit my ears and my search began. And was I surprised on the woman wearing the high..high heels. It was like seeing my top 3 fetishs in one.. high heels, long legs (she had 'hot pants' on) and Asian. I was just struck in awe...yes, I felt like a perv but hey I was just admiring and laughing on how she was dressed to come shopping. After a few peeks, I just couldn't help myself..I approached her and gave her compliments on her appearance, especially on her legs. I noticed a wedding ring so I left it at that and made my exit.

Think I need to see a therapist about my 'problem' :)

Just yesterday in fact, alas, the woman was wearing flared bottom jeans that completely covered the shoe.

Has anyone looked around upon hearing that lovely sound, and noticed all the other males with swiveling, turning heads?

I had not given thought to it being a "Pied Piper Effect" but most mornings at the train stop waiting to board I will hear the call and have a look to see what shoes or boots are making it along with the occasional twinge of jealousy that mine aren't the noise source. (I know, I could wear them too, but not ready to push that envelope at work just yet. :) )

Its funny watching the married guys or those with a fem present..how they try to not get caught when stealing a peek. Its amazing that no matter what one is hunting for when shopping, the wife/SO always seems to have her back to source of the clicking noise...hmmm guess they miss out :)

I was at the mall recently and a woman walked passed me wearing very high heels. I was amused to watch how many people looked and watched as she walked by. So obviously, there are quite a few people who recognize the sound!

Wow, I thought it was only me...of course, I thought I was the only CD in the world, too. It is quite hypnotic and makes me veer off course in any environment to identify the source. The worst (or best) is when you are at a black-tie event and everyone is dressed to the nines and then you have to find where the sound is coming from. I must look like a perv when that happens.

I work in retail and my office is just off the sales floor. I constantly find myself leaping up from my desk to investigate the click-clack of heals. I can even ID some of my clients by the sound of their heels.

Whoa! Count me in too!
I finally forgave myself for trying to bury my high heel fetish, because I revel in it so much these days. I too love the 'click/clack' of heels. Music to my ears! One of the reasons I love to walk at the mall.
And I must get a look at the heels producing that lovely sound, even if I feel kinda pervy with my head on swivel...and a glint in my eye!

Good! I was afraid I might be the only one getting neck cramps!

Last week, while shopping @ Wally World, I saw a young Hispanic gal (maybe all of 5'2" tall) with longggg legs wearing black leggings, black boots and six inch heels!

One hot look.

:D For some reason, I needed things in the same aisles as she was in!

Have you ever had a pair of guy shoes with a really hard heel? They will also make that clicking sound!

I've had a few pair that did that. It's so funny to see how many guys will turn around and look at you because of that sound. It happens all the time. Try it sometime!

I always feel kind of bad too. They are looking expecting to see a chick in heels, but it's plain old me.

I have gone out of my way many times trying to locate the source of that hypnotic and distinctive sound.
I race from aisle to aisle trying to find her, trying to be careful to not run and then working hard to regain my composure once the eye candy is located.
High heels are the greatest, aren't they?

I think so many of us are so into High Heels, and just the sound takes our attention away from just about anything we might be doing, is because it is the first or nearly first object of our female fascination....... Thoughts ???

I was going to reply in agreement with all of the others becuse I too try to search out the sourse of the sound, but then I realized,
why there are so many men in the isles while I'm shopping.
I've never had anyone say anything but I may try to start a conversation now that I know why they are there. THANKS ! ! !

Hey Maddy,

I am so glad that you mentioned this thread to me and suggested that I look for it. I also find myself looking for the source of that wonderful sound, but usually only when I am in drab mode. When out as Nicole, I am usually too busy looking for clothing, makeup or lingerie.

But here is a more interesting question, I wonder how many guys come looking for us when we are the ones walking around in hour 3" pumps and making the wonderful click clack sound. Have any of you ever been on the receiving end of the search? I am not totally sure, but I believe that I have spotted a few guys watching as I clicked my way down the aisle.

Talk about the Pied Piper, I was converted to major CD'ing at a late age when I followed a very lovely set of legs in 3" heels into a restaurant. I realized that I should try the life style and I left the place and went directly to a ladies shoe shop finding lovely size 13 red shoes. I flopped around and the SA offered a 2" pair of Trotters and thru in the red shoes too.

After reading the many responses, I think the "Pied Piper Effect" may have encouraged many of us to explore our feminine sides; which most of us had no idea existed. I remember my first Pied Piper, Mrs. Baker my 3rd grade teacher ! I'd follow her anywhere !!!

High Heels? Did someone mention High Heels? That hypnotic sound which drives me crazy? Ooooohhhhh yessssss Maddie, you hit it on the head = "Pied Piper Effect" is the best description for this phenomenon. I have been attracted to High Heels ever since stumbling on my fathers "Playboy" stash in the mid 60's, I was about 6.:o Ever since then I have been attracted to heels and that sound. Naturally the stockings and garter belt were next, and then on to a bra...... Ahh yes High Heels.....:daydreaming:

My first Pied Piper was my 3rd grade teacher, Miss Baker / Mrs. Young. Although I was already well on my way to exploring my feminine side, she was my first Pied Piper that I recall. Can you recall yours ? Funny to think of the analogy, because even at our age today we still are drawn to the musical sound of high heels, and cannot turn away. So who was she ??

Maybe I thought I was the only one:o But I guess I am definitely not. I used to try and not stare at one of my teachers that wore high heels and sexy ones at that. But I will always remember her and the shoes she wore and that was a lot of years ago.:daydreaming: And yes Marissa I do think you need to see a therapist about this condition.:battingeyelashes: Maybe you could make an appointment for us both as I would join you then we could split the cost. Do you think they would do that?:D

Back in the daze when I was a road-warrior living in airports and hotel rooms, that was a routine part of my group-therapy sessions every week.

The "group" being all of the hotties walking by me in the airport terminals. The "therapy" being the clicking of their heels. Sometimes, if the timing was just right, their heels appeared to be in sync with the wheels of their carry-on, like the beat of the music... A few times, I actually heard them in sync with the music playing in a gift shop close by. Now, that...is music...:)

I am too drawn to the sound and have found I can now tell the difference between a high and a low heeled shoe. As with many others once heard the source must be traced and the shoes admired. Also as my wife always wears 5" heels I constantly reminded of the wonderful sound every tine we go out. I still try to disceetly trace the source of other heel sounds when I am with her and sometimes think I have got away with it untill I hear her say "I saw you looking", when will I learn you can't fool a GG.
Just going off track a bit but can you also look at sone girls, only partially viewing them, and just know they are wearing very high heels just from the posture, the way they dress or you just know. Obviously I have to check I am right when I see such a girl.

I thought I might be the only one (and a weirdo at that) for doing that.. Yeah I've done that and still do do that.. "pied piper effect" I've never thought of it that way but in fact that is what it is like.. I catch myself looking for those shoes, see the woman and most of the time being disappointed.. Wearing heels yes, but most of the time they are boots.. Rarely a woman dressed up.. But still worth the "checking out"...

Madilyn A.
12-12-2010, 10:24 PM
It happened again today while at the mall.............I was with my wife shopping, then I heard it....music to my ears, a young girl, maybe 25 yrs. old and her boyfriend I suppose....4 " black stilettos, black stockings, short black dress. So I pardoned myself from my wife. I followed this melodious sound for about a minute before realizing I left my wife while she was on a shopping quest. In order to keep her spending in check, I sadly bid adieu to the beautiful Pied Piper !!

Melinda, I must disagree with you. The heels on Jimmy Choo shoes are a silent rubber tip. They make no clicking sound when worn--yet, women are buying them.
