View Full Version : The dreaded traffic stop.

I had a first today.
While driving to the park where I’ve been walking occasionally, I rounded the corner and saw a police officer in his cruiser staring intently at my vehicle. I looked in my rear view mirror and yes- he was turning around to follow me.
I knew what was coming. I adjusted my skirt, reached back for my wallet in my pants pocket on the back seat and waited to be pulled over. When he came to the window, as I fished out my license, I caught a brief smirk on his face as he obviously noticed my attire.
I got the ticket with no fuss and not a word or further notice of my skirt. I took my usual walk, feeling a bit poorer for the ticket, but feeling pretty good that I casually made it through what I once feared like dread disease, while giving a cop a story to tell about the bearded guy in a skirt.
It kind of made me want to take a walk at the mall! Or show up in the office in my skirt! On to the next adventure!

At least it was not an arrest for public intoxication while going for a walk in a dress! I was carted off to jail...

I read this blog post (http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/12/seasons_greetings_from_your_fr.html) about a common police program during the holidays called "traffic grant".
Assuming this is true, the cops get paid O/T, but in exchange they have to write lots of tickets, taking hundreds of dollars out of Jane Q. Public's pocket per day. Merry Christmas!

Just so the cops don't get a blanket disapproval, when I was in Seattle, the TG group Emerald City held frequent events in the auditorium of the city hall building that also housed the police dept. HQ. No problems at all and we frequently went out for coffee/dinner after the meetings.

We wouldn't be the first. It's been shown already. And the narrator wasn't too kind about it either.

To late Karren, I saw a truck driver on COPS, wearing a leotard, it's just so hard to be the first at anything these days!

So why did the cop pull you over in the first place?

Well to be fair to Karren, I think she meant the first regular here on this forum to be on that show.
Certainly plenty of TG people have been on COPS and similar shows. It's pretty routine now. But, regardless of the show, the narrator almost always rakes the TG person over the coals as a freak. It's a form of bullying, and is utterly disgusting.
One exception though; Police Women of Dallas. They responded to a neighborhood incident and the police officer was very professional and kind to the TG people who were part of the incident. Utterly fair, and were treated as regular, normal, human beings. Imagine that!

Expired registration (by just a few days). The city needs the cash...

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." Sounds like you see the positive in this and that's great. Events like these are how we grow, how we get over our fears and anxieties.
