View Full Version : A Funny Thing Happened To My Wife At Work.

Last week my wife invited me to her dept Christmas get together. This week her boss talked to her about it. All the ladies are either single, divorced, or widowed. She's the only one with a SO. Her boss said " He could put on a dress and be a token female". My wife managed to keep a straight face and not say "Oh, he'd love that!". I kept asking her all weekend if I should dress casual or dressy! lol :devil:

well you always look amazing have fun ,this was the first time in years that I went with my wife to her party and we had a blast.

It's a great chance to spend time with the girls and pick up tips. Just watch what kind of information you end up sharing or they may expect you to dress one of these days.

My wife was an elementary school teacher before she retired and there were a few times that I became an honorary female since all her co-workers were either single, divorced or had husbands who wouldn't show up to the gatherings. No one ever made the offer to have me dress the part, but back then I may not have taken the opportunity. It it happened today, I'd be on it in a heartbeat.

No. That was why her boss was talking with her. Since she was the only one with an SO they decided it would be an employees only function. She was only making a joke but sometimes jokes can be very close to the mark without anyone else knowing.

It would be fun, wouldn't it? But as the only guy, or the new girl, or the only guest, any way you slice it you become the center if attention and the subject of the party, which was not the intent.

I actually did exactly that for my cousin's 50th birthday party (about 20 years ago). It was all women and I decided that I would go. The hostess said it was OK and so did my wife. It was a blast! I have a reputation as a goofball with a weird sense of humor anyway, so noone said anything negative and everyone got a good laugh. If I can find the pictures (they, of course, are paper) I may post them. Sorry you can't go Sally!

Sally, Why not go anyway and tell them you are from the temp agency, Kelly Girls, they used earlier in the year, oh well, just a wild attempt at some fun.

If none of your wifes co-workers know you, you could go as your wifes "cousin Sally from out of town", and probably look better than some of the GGs at that party! LOL
