Just to stimulate some thought and discussion, I’ve slapped together a sort of poll/survey/questionnaire for y’all. It is the product of perhaps all of 30 minutes of thought, and roams all over the place, so don’t judge it too harshly. Just some interesting questions that popped into my mind.

If you choose to answer, list each number and letter of choice: i.e., 1-A, 2-B, etc. Feel free to explain or elaborate on an answer if you desire, or to call me out on a question where you feel other choices were left out. If it seems like more than one choice applies to you, choose the one that best applies.

1. How do you view your female persona?

A. It is my true nature; spiritually and emotionally, I am a woman.
B. It is an expression of the feminine side of my dual-natured personality.
C. It’s a way to become someone else for a time; a vacation from myself, if you will.
D. It’s a form of role-playing; sort of an acting challenge.
E. It’s just fun; I don’t consider any deeper meaning to it than that.

2. When I am dressed.....

A. It is erotic and sexually exciting.
B. It is sensual and produces a warm feeling, but not overtly sexual.
C. It is just relaxing and helps me to reduce stress.
D. It allows me to explore feelings I can’t express as a man.
E. It’s just a pleasurable hobby; nothing earth-shattering.

3. If I could do it all over again.....

A. I would have started seriously dressing earlier and more frequently.
B. I wouldn’t change a thing; I like the way my life has unfolded.
C. I would have taken things a little more slowly and cautiously; this thing has taken over and complicated my life!

4. The one item of female clothing/accessories that really is most special to me is.....

A. Wigs and female hairstyles.
B. Makeup.
C. Lingerie and undergarments.
D. Pantyhose or stockings.
E. High heels.
F. Other (specify).

5. My favorite single girlish “prep” activity is:

A. Fixing my hair.
B. Putting on my makeup.
C. Plucking/shaping my eyebrows.
D. Shaving my legs.
E. Other (specify).

6. My female role model/idol in my formative years was:

A. My mother.
B. My sister.
C. Another female relative or friend.
D. A girlfriend or spouse.
E. A non-related authority figure (teacher, boss, etc.)
F. A celebrity.

7. When a man flirts or comes on to me when I am dressed.....

A. I love it! I am very attracted to males when dressed.
B. I accept and enjoy it simply as a compliment and confirmation of my passability.
C. I appreciate the interest, but it makes me a little uncomfortable.
D. It freaks me out; I’d rather not receive such attention from men.

8. If I had a son who showed signs of transgenderism:

A. I’d counsel and encourage him to fearlessly explore his feelings.
B. I’d remain somewhat neutral and cautious, but lovingly accept him for who he is.
C. I’d actively discourage him from facing the same struggles and problems I have dealt with.

9. My biggest regret or frustration concerning my crossdressing is:

A. I’m not happy with my appearance.
B. I don’t have the time or opportunity to dress as much as I would like.
C. I’ve alienated or lost family or friends because of it.
D. It’s complicated my life to a great degree.
E. Regrets? Frustration? No way – it’s all good.

10. This questionnaire is:

A. Stupid.
B. Interesting and insightful.
C. A haphazard and disjointed mess of amateurish psychological tripe.
D. The product of a very disturbed mind.

(Survey is not scientific or implied to be accurate or insightful. Your mileage may vary. Not valid in Afghanistan, the Canary Islands, or Brooklyn. Prices slightly higher east of the Sierras.)

1. How do you view your female persona?

A. It is my true nature; spiritually and emotionally, I am a woman. or
B. It is an expression of the feminine side of my dual-natured personality.

I'm not confident enough yet to say outright I am a woman, but if I could dump my male side I'd do so in a heart beat if I could pass as a woman.

2. When I am dressed.....

B. It is sensual and produces a warm feeling, but not overtly sexual.

When I wear a black dress, I feel like I'm a sexy woman, I feel great as a person, I wish I could wear it all the time and become a woman, but I fear things aren't right just now to do that...

3. If I could do it all over again.....

A. I would have started seriously dressing earlier and more frequently.

I dressed as a early teen but after my parents caught me and teased me over it I stopped all together, and tried to repress it in spring of this year I started again, I wish I had never stopped, and pushed myself for a gender change earlier in my life.

4. The one item of female clothing/accessories that really is most special to me is.....

F. Other (specify).

All of the above, under garments keep being the thing I start out with but I want to wear makeup, wear high heels (I wish I had high heels) I'm growing my hair out for me to have a long men's hair style but allow me to have a fem hair styles when I'm ready. this question to me is like asking what if your favorite part of a car, you need all parts of the car to have it function properly.

5. My favorite single girlish “prep” activity is:

B. Putting on my makeup.

I love doing my nails, I would have done it last night but I have a doctors appt. today...

6. My female role model/idol in my formative years was:

not a clue if I had to guess I'm say my mom but I don't try to emulate her.

7. When a man flirts or comes on to me when I am dressed.....

C. I appreciate the interest, but it makes me a little uncomfortable. or
D. It freaks me out; I’d rather not receive such attention from men.

I don't go out dressed yet, so it's one of these 2 answers.

8. If I had a son who showed signs of transgenderism:

A. I’d counsel and encourage him to fearlessly explore his feelings.

9. My biggest regret or frustration concerning my crossdressing is:

A. I’m not happy with my appearance.
B. I don’t have the time or opportunity to dress as much as I would like.

A, and B I wish I had better skin, and breasts, I wish I could wear women's outfit that were designed for having breasts but I am flat chested, and my man bit upset me at times. I am in the closet so I work hard at trying to appear like this is not something I do and that means going some time without dressing but I do wear women's jeans to work, and under dress all the time...

10. This questionnaire is:

B. Interesting and insightful. possibly
C. A haphazard and disjointed mess of amateurish psychological tripe.

how should I know? lol

OK I'm game...

1. B. It is an expression of the feminine side of my dual-natured personality.
2. C. It is just relaxing and helps me to reduce stress.
3. A. I would have started seriously dressing earlier and more frequently.
4. C. Lingerie and undergarments.
5. B. Putting on my makeup. (when I wear it)
6. G. None of the above...just want to be myself I guess
7. E. None of the above - haven't gone out dressed I think I'd be freaked out though
8. B. I’d remain somewhat neutral and cautious, but lovingly accept him for who he is.
9. D. It’s complicated my life to a great degree.
10. B. Interesting and insightful.

Umm.....let's see here......

B (but kinda A)
A and B, depending on my mood.....Okay, toss C and D in there, too.
A
F....I love it all. It's all real special to me.
E.....Prep is okay, but sometimes a hassle. But I enjoy the whole process in getting dressed, putting on the makeup, and accessorizing.
A....probably my mother. But females in general really made my head spin.
7 is not applicable. No one has ever come on to me while dressed.
B
D But my biggest frustration is that I'm not female to begin with.
D What the heck.

When I see something like this posted on CDers.com, especially by a new member, I think: why is he/she trying to gather all this information?
A lot of effort went into formulating the questions, so are they just 'random'?
The answers to all these questions might be illuminating for me, but why would somebody else want to know?
I may sound paranoid, but my personal information is mine, and I don't give it away to an unknown person with unknown motivation.

OK, here goes...

1. How do you view your female persona?
C. It’s a way to become someone else for a time; a vacation from myself, if you will.

2. When I am dressed.....
B. It is sensual and produces a warm feeling, but not overtly sexual.

But I just love the feel and looks of the clothes, the warpaint, boobs and makeup. So much more fun compared to men's drab... Also calms me down.

3. If I could do it all over again.....
C. I would have taken things a little more slowly and cautiously; this thing has taken over and complicated my life!

4. The one item of female clothing/accessories that really is most special to me is.....
C. Lingerie and undergarments.

Plus boobs, wig, warpaint and of course, a nice, classic outer layer...

5. My favorite single girlish “prep” activity is:
B. Putting on my makeup.

6. My female role model/idol in my formative years was:
F. A celebrity.

7. When a man flirts or comes on to me when I am dressed.....
D. It freaks me out; I’d rather not receive such attention from men.

Haven't gone out dressed yet - apart from a couple of local CDers meetings but I WOULD freak out if on the streets...

8. If I had a son who showed signs of transgenderism:
B. I’d remain somewhat neutral and cautious, but lovingly accept him for who he is.

And point him in the direction of this forum - some really nice gals out there, full of useful advice. From some councelling I went through some years ago, it was pretty disasterous as the councellors (different each visit) hadn't really a clue and just seemed to treat me as a freak...

9. My biggest regret or frustration concerning my crossdressing is:
D. It’s complicated my life to a great degree.

10. This questionnaire is:
B. Interesting and insightful.

1. How do you view your female persona?

A. It is my true nature; spiritually and emotionally, I am a woman.
Sort of...I feel like I'm supposed to be a girl, although most other indications are that it's just the product of my childhoood.

2. When I am dressed.....

C. It is just relaxing and helps me to reduce stress.

3. If I could do it all over again.....
None of the options. I wouldn't choose this in my life. But I'm doing the best that I can with the hand I've been dealt.

4. The one item of female clothing/accessories that really is most special to me is.....

A. Wigs and female hairstyles.
F. Other (specify).
Too close to call; it's always been the long, feminine hair that's completed making me feel mostly female; but recently wearing pastel color nail polish has been right up there too.

5. My favorite single girlish “prep” activity is:
E. Other (specify). Polishing my nails.

6. My female role model/idol in my formative years was:
None of the above. It was my sister's best friend.

7. When a man flirts or comes on to me when I am dressed.....
not applicable. But I don't like men, nor trust them, so I'd probably not be pleased.

8. If I had a son who showed signs of transgenderism:
I have no kids, so I don't know. I think I'd leave him some literature to read, and let him know I'm open to discussion.

9. My biggest regret or frustration concerning my crossdressing is:

D. It’s complicated my life to a great degree.

10. This questionnaire is:
Probably useful for someone who's curious about others who crossdress, but not comprehensive enough for a professional researching the topic.
