My wife is very sensitive to perfume. I made the mistake of giving her some, so she gave them back to me.

They are Chantilly and Tabu. I wear the Chantilly frequently.

Just another aspect of our inversion of preferences that just came to mind -

1. I'm the one who has heels. My wife doesn't.
2. I have far more dresses and skirts than my wife. I wear them frequently, and my wife never does.
3. Anytime my wife wants nail polish she bums it off of me.
4. I have far longer hair than my wife.
5. If once in a blue moon she wants to use a hair dryer she borrows it from me - I use it every day.
6. If she wants to use hair spray once in a while she bums it off of me.

I use Coco by Chanel eux de toilette because my ex left it behind when we divorced. I found it 14 years later when I started dressing and now use it when I remember in my rush to leave the house. I also try to get those little perfume samplers that the larger department stores perfume departments give out, especially during the holidays (not to self: Go to Macy's for some more samples!). They are great to put in your purse.

One time I wore White Shoulders to work. I went to the accounting department and one of the women that I had just walked by said, "Who has White Shoulders on it's my favorite?" I kept walking and never stopped. I don't think she saw me but she stood up and looked over her cubicle trying to figure who was wearing it. By then I was far enough away she didn't put 2 and 2 together.

I enjoy the smell and for me it adds to the experience.
I had one from Avon that came with shower gel and that was really nice.
I do like obsession, but it smells better on a gg than me after a bit.
Can anyone reccomend a kinda generic one that my male smelling body wont change.

I waited along time before trying it; I was very afraid I would smell like that for days.
But I found that a hot shower and a little orange hand cleaner takes it right off.

The next time you smell it why not just ask, i found one i liked early on this year so i happened to be in the shop that sold it last week and asked if they still had some only to be told " sorry we stopped selling that " but was shown one that was similar , i did not like it so i guess it is back to making my own from essential oils, that will please the family as it is quite powerful :heehee:

My wife doesn't use any scents, so I only get the chance to fill my nose with these wonderful smells when I dress. I found Obsession recently and like that a lot, particularly after it's had a chance to mellow from the initial spray. For fun I've grown to like a couple different body sprays that can be found in all the 'high quality' discount stores.

Although I try to wear scents lightly, usually with just a spritz to my neck, and wash it off at the end of the evening, a little stays on my wig and is there for me to smell any time I pick it up when it hasn't been recently washed.

I found out that it was Este Lauder White Linen, and that's what I wear. It just does it for me like nothing else. This is something I find very funny in our culture.

Well, not so much funny as blitheringly stupid.

Women wear perfume to sometimes smell like flowers. Men wear cologne (the manly form of perfume), to smell like.....musk.

I am not really knocking the scent, it isn't all that bad mind you. But I wonder why more guys don't wear stuff that makes them smell nice, and heaven forbid sweet. Like bubble gum, or candy or something. Why would a woman not like that?

It is another one of those oddities that I think about sure to keep me single. LOL

Actually many of the J-rockers that I know of, and that women fawn over have non conventional scents. Mana for instance has been said to smell of bubble gum, but usually like Grapes. Yes grapes, as in grape juice. Not a bad smell, and I wonder why such a thing would be viewed with derision in the man's world? Or by many women out there?

You two are on the mark, my favorite costs about $5 and happens to be the "Vanilla Fields" as well. Unfortunately my wife hates the scent so I don't wear it often. I would love to know what the non-impostor scent is though.

'Fraid I'm stuck in adolescent female mode. For me, that mean's Love's baby soft, Charlie, and an Avon perfume called 'Occur' that they made back in the seventies that one of the girls I had a crush on wore. Another was Lauren, it came in a square purple bottle; I still like the scent, but it doesn't have the same effect as the others, so I haven't been using it. A quick spray over my pillows also lets me sleep better; I rarely remember any dreams, but I wake up feeling better on days I do this, so it's become a routine.

Every day I use essential oils, especially flowery scents such as lavender, rose, jasmine, and ylang-ylang, in a diffuser. The mist gets on me and my clothes, and I go out in public, to work, to the health club etc,. with these scents on me in subtle ways. I also use Sunsilk Black Shine with Amla (from Indian markets), which has a perfume scent, every day.

I really like Kim Kardashian perfume which is available from Sephora. I was prepared not to like it just based on the name, but that turned out to be judgmental. It is a soft, floral scent with a touch of sweetness. It is not a little girls perfume which sweet ones can often be. It does not have a lot of staying power, so I also bought the small, roll-on size for my purse. Before switching to KK, I wore White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor. It is a more classic scent. I still love it and wear it on occasion.

I find perfume to be an essential part of my female presentation. Just a touch of scent is all that is necessary. I do not want to be one of those women who overwhelm your nose with overpowering perfume. I use unscented deodorant so it does not compete or co-mingle with my perfume.
