And why are you going to a therapist? Just curious. I mean there is no cut in stone rule that says you have to so I just wondered.

Can't hurt. The therapist I'm going to is TG herself and specializes in the trans matters. If I decide to fully transistion I'll need her help. And if not, well a little head shrinking never hurt anybody. :)

Congrats, I think your doing the right thing. Having someone to talk to that's knowledgeable in transsexual issues is always a plus. Plus we all need a little grounding with our thoughts and emotions.

Good for you. I've been going to my therapist since i was 19. I'm 35 now and feel she is the reason I have progressed the way I have without any major depression. She helped me find who I am and I that God every day for someone so understanding.

I wish you luck.

GO YOU. And on my birthday too.

Therapy is sometimes painful, often intimidating at first, but does SOOOOoooooo much good for us in the long term. You should be proud of yourself for going about this is a responsible, intelligent manner.

GO YOU.

Congratulations. I hope they work for you. I know some people here think therapists are useless but with the mental baggage that is often caused by what we go through, a good therapist can do wonders to help us let go of past regrets.

Just make sure to be honest with yourself when going in. I know my biggest problem was not knowing what to talk about. Funny thing is I always end up making good progress.

Remember though therapy is not necessary for transition but is often beneficial to deal with the mental problems that so plague us in the trans community.

I say good on you for doing things the right way despite what some others might think.

its certainly a very interesting journey, the one you are about to undertake, but it should be good if you have the right support
around you and this forum is helpful for that reason. Its nice to be in a place where there are so many others like you to talk to
that you can really identify with. Just be patient and things will seem to fall into place. I wish you well & hope i all goes well for you.

Hugs Melody :hugs:
