One gal said in a thread she is bored when she doesn't dress and dressing energizes her. So, what would you do if you went the whole "nine yards" and did become a woman (or as much of one as possible) by transition? Surely there is more to do than housework, shopping and glamming up. Just what would you do if you did become a woman? I would operate a detective or modeling agency myself.:)

Just the same as I do now, work, rest and play :)

I'd write. If I do get off my arse and actually start to write seriously and maybe start to make a living from it I might well gravitate towards a more femme lifestyle

I see where you are coming from asking this so I will only say that as a trans woman, transition is not something I am doing to become a woman. It is something I am doing to be the woman I always was and never was able to be until now. This means I don't really think along the lines of "what would I do" as aside from taking longer in the morning because I like to wear some makeup, I don't do much differently.

that and transition did not free me up to do what i want, breaking the cycle of doubt and depression freed me to do what I want.

Just wanting to explain that transition has little to do with becoming and more to do with accepting. I think the first thing many trans women realize once they transition is that the desire to be female is no longer a deciding factor in how we live our lives.

Well, there's nothing to stop me continuing what I'm currently doing, but in this hypothetical situation, I don't think it would be likely. I have a feeling they would find a reason to lay me off if I were to transition.

Not that I want to be one but is someone made me one.... I wouldn't set around and let my new found tools go to waste doing housework!! I'd operate an exotic lingerie store / escort service!! Might be kind of fun! Maybe play hockey on an all girls lingerie league on the weekend!! Lol.

I really see no reason not to continue life as normal including house work, yard work, and construction

Hey, housework, shopping and glamming up are soooo fun... I would basically do the same as I do now, and I would also get to wear more cool clothes and more makeup in public...

I'd be happy and just go about my normal life. Like now,I would also break down and keep my nails shortened so I can play guitar :) I'll just wear fakes ones when I want.Had some claws going on for while though, haha

I expect that I'd do more or less what I do now, but I'd be happy, comfortable, and feel beautiful.

I don't expect to jump into a new career, or do anything wild right now I keep things simple, maybe that could change after I'm on estrogen maybe it won't change a thing, but I know what I want and I'm sure I'll be happy as a woman.

At first, I dismissed this thread .. figured I didn't want to talk about it.

Then, just as I closed the page, I realized that life would be very different for me, if I were to transition to female.

There'd be the whole family-loss thing (at least, part of my extended family -- I think my wife would stay, my sons too). There'd be the whole coming out at work thing, to a job where I frankly am not happy anyways, kinda looking for a way out.

If it became an option, I think I'd pursue my artistic side. I make some side money selling landscape photography, and I feel that could increase if I felt freer to express my true self, in my photos as well as in real life.
