I have only been out a few times. I feel like a 1 or 2, depending on the situation. Even though it is nerve-racking for me, I haven't had any negative experiences and have enjoyed myself. I hope I can get into the 2-3 range next week, when I plan to spend some time dressed in New Orleans with my wife. I expect to be most nervous when riding the hotel elevator, shoulder-to-shoulder with other hotel guests. I think drinking a glass or two of wine will help calm me down. Hopefully things will go well and my confidence will be higher in the future. But I worry that an 'incident' will occur and I will go right back to level 1. Wish me luck!

I'd say I'm a 3 with modification: I don't think like...Gee am I passing or what or what? It's more like 'I don't care' but only in the sense of...like I don't NEED to impress some stranger or be accepted or come off looking triple-A approved & certified all American woman. Ya know? But just as a matter of course I AM aware of tudes +/- plus or minus - and if minus I become even More myself, More laid back relaxed & sociable - as a kind of challenge or 'game' of sorts - just to see if I can win her over (even seduce her?) or at least calm her down. I really stress in my car, thinking about entering the mall or the store where I wish to shop but once I enter the door I suddenly relax and do what I intended to do. I realize that I probably don't pass but 70%, no 80%, no 90% of the people I encounter don't take the time to glance in my direction, they are too into their own business to really care who I am or what I am wearing. #4.

On any given outing, I range from 1, to 6! One time, at a store, I purposely let everyone nearby, know i was a cd, and laughed about it all! Got a few smiles from a few, and puzzled looks by a few men! Any time i go out, i start out in 1, 0r 2, then slide to 3, 4,5, and 6. When a cop pulled me over, on my second time out ever, I was at 1 or 2, for a few hours.

Now that I have been going out often I just do not care anymore. I get out of my car, check in the mirror and say to myself..."Well that is the best we can do". I rely on the fact that I haven't had any problems so far. Have even gone to Denny's and not been hassled.

Usually a 3 to 5 . Have had a few 'seniors moments' (0nly 53) when I've been out and forgot that I was dressed from neck down. Remarkabely, either I'm way out there and don't notice reaction, or no one cares. Sure is a laugh unpacking the groceries and realizing your wearing boobs and a skirt!

a sitution has been going on for some years now, two people i have known over 14 years & this involved them , the manager of a camp site & Police . tho i had to see 4 others as well.

Repetition changes the result. I am usually at a 2 as I get ready and step out. I am naturally a nervous nellie. But afterwards I range from a 3 (if it has been a while) to a 5 (if I have been out a bit recently). And how much you are out is subjective anyway. My first time out was only a year ago, so these numbers are relative.

I was interviewed by a student from the University once, She was really nice, it was for a class project on crossdressing. i try to not care, but due think about it, mostly as how can i improve my looks.

there are those that i will never look right in there eyes. so i do not care about them. i just want to look like a woman doing what she likes to do.

I'm between 2 and 3, probably closer than I want to be to 2. I'd love to work my way to a higher number... perhaps over time it will happen naturally.

If I got out more often, I'd probably be more of a consistent 3-4, but when months go by between outings, I slip right back up to a 2.

Just where I fall on any given day depends on my confidence that day, how much time I had to do a good job on the makeup, how distracted I am with things while I am out, how long it has been since I've been out and my general comfort level with the people I find myself around.

For instance, a month ago I was a good 3, maybe even a little toward 4, once I had been out for a few minutes and didn't get any reactions. Other times I feel like I'm in '1' territory just taking a stroll on a dark sidewalk :(

It is interesting to see all the posts that follow the same curve that happens to me. When I'm anticipating going out, getting ready, about to step out of the car... I am MUCH closer to a 1-2. Within 5 minutes of being in public, that drops to a 3 and starts to show signs of moving toward 4. On a few good days, I think I may have touched 4... but only briefly.

Karen's 6 is only something I can put on my 'someday' list.

3-Absolutely no question that everyone will recognize the mustache + dress combination as cross-dressing. It's scary, because I'm not sure how people will react, although sales staff and restaurant staff are good-humored. Also I want to avoid people who know me in drab, although I have encountered casual acquaintances a couple of times without repercussions.
