I get a rush of hope, happiness, and slightly teary eyed when I hear this song. It gives me the courage to keep going. I wish I could thank Katy Perry for the song.

Me too Jenny.
She is just turning out hit songs to make a lot of money for her and the producers but it’s a nice song. And a nice message.

Jenny,
Yes I also Love this song, it's heart warming for me as well!

I was at a drag show a few weeks ago and one of the performers used this song for her routine, it almost brought me to tears.

My wife sent me this via Facebook and I cried the first time I listened to the lyrics. This song is now part of a special playlist along with Christina's Beautiful and Pink's Crystal Ball.

Thank you for posting it. I'm sitting here having a pity party and that sure helped me start to come out of it. Now I have to find Christina's and Pink's.

You know me too, I was just telling my wife that this song is so dramatic and uplifting and gives me goosebumps whenever I hear the chorus.

Yeah the song means stand for what you believe in and don't let no one take your dreams from you.

Long line of songs by female artists meant to inspire. Not quite but almost as good as TLC's Unpretty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2gy1Evb1Kg), Christina Aguilera's Beautiful (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAfyFTzZDMM), and Pink's Stupid Girls (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR4yQFZK9YM).

It's a shame this video and all others from Katy Perry has to hyper accentuate her breasts.

Or make them explode! :) But I kid...

For me, I feel that one song that represents a little bit of the plight of a lot of our brothers and sisters here - figuratively and metaphorically speaking - is this old song called "Part of Your World" from Little Mermaid.

As human beings, we all go through transitions in life and I felt that there were similar undertones talked about and touched upon in this part of Little Mermaid that I feel like I've read in the forums and hear of from our other trans-siblings. It should be noted that Howard Ashman, the songwriter, was gay. I'm not implying that he is perhaps, really writing about himself, but it's hard not to consider the context given that he was battling with AIDs at the time and that he was an openly gay Jewish man.

I suppose if you really read into things a lot you'll find how it applies to your life. To me, "Part of Your World," is a longing for transition and the potential of having an amazing life outside of the limitations of where we stand right now.

I love Katy Perry :D and that song. It has been on my playlist constantly these past months! I always thought it was quite an appropriate song, and it makes me quite emotional at times (not that that's hard these days lol).

I recently heard 'happy' by Leona Lewis. Not a new song, but the lyrics seem to be quite relevant.

I've been loving this song since my road trip but didn't know it was Katy Perry. My wife bought me an itouch today for my birthday and i started doing some research on songs that I like but don't know the artist. I've added quite a few pop songs to my new toy. I'm not usually a pop sorta gal. But have really opened up to all sorts of things that in my previous all male "kill the girl in me" life would allow. Been listening to lot of No Doubt lately.

Anyway why the hell didnt someone think of the whole ipod thing back in the 80s when Michael Jackson was cool BEFORE he died.
I can still hear the tape hiss from my Sony walkman. Cindi Lauper, Men Without Hats, Quiet Riot, and how could we forget Boy George!
