I'd like to know if anyone has first hand knowledge of a Trans friendly GP in Brigg or Scunthorpe.

Thankyou, K

Hi Kia,

All GP's should be Trans friendly, however just in case yours needs more information to bring him or her up to speed, here is the link for the Dept of Health guidance document, http://www.gires.org.uk/assets/DOH-Assets/pdf/doh-trans-practical-guide.pdf . Perhaps if your GP orders a copy or you could download a copy to a cd-Rom and give it to your GP who could then read it through, then he or she would be a lot more aware of your needs.

Find more NHS documents >>> here (http://www.gires.org.uk/dohpublications.php)<<<

If you have any problems, remember that your local NHS PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Services) service can assist in resolving them, Here is the link to Scunthorpe PALS (http://www.nlg.nhs.uk/services/PALS/contact.asp)

I live in the area you are interested in, however as steph says, if you are registered with a GP, they are the one you should seek out. Your GP has very little to do with your transition in the early stages, with the exception of referring you to the right agencies to assist you.

Thankyou for replying Nigella, I'll be relocating to one of the mentioned area's in the very near future, current location is not considered amenable by myself for transitioning, patience is a virtue apparently.
