I spent the past Holiday with my wifes family and my niece unknowingly made my whole year.
I have grown out my hair so that it is now down to my lower back. As I was growing it out over the last couple of years it was something of a novelty to my niece. The first thing she would do when she saw me would be to see if her hair was a long as mine. At first she was disappointed and wondered why I had such long hair. Aftere a bit of time it turned into her wanting to always braid it. So I would let her.
This past weekend we were sitting on the floor doing someting or other and she brought up a recent trip I made to their house over Halloween. She asked "Why didn't you dress up for Halloween?" I had to chuckle a little to myself(not knowing where this was going) and said "I didn't have a costume."
She smiled at me a said that I had to come back for Halloween next year because she wanted to dress me up like a girl and do my hair and make up for me.
Mind you she is only 10 but she thinks and acts as if she is 16. She is a very smart girl.
I hugged her and laughed and said "lets just see what happens next year and go from there, ok?" She said, all non-chalantly, "Sure thing. "
She then spent the next 20 mins describing outfits from her class play that she thought she would dress me up in.
If only she knew................:battingeyelashes:
