I'm an Australian girl with Chinese heritage.
I'm transgendered and I come to realize that I'm TS and not CD.
I plan to visit Bangkok to explore possibilities of SRS and FFS.
I also want to meet other tgirls there to share experiences.

Are there any girls here who plans to visit Thailand in March or April and has similar ideas in mind like me?

Please share your expectations with me here!

One of the ex-Administrator/Moderator Karen something, I think, had her SRS in Thailand a couple of years ago. I haven't seen her around here recently, but I think that she was very satisfied with the whole experience and, of course, the results.

You really should join ATSN - Australian Transsexual Support Network - http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/atsn/

The greater majority of Aussies go to Thailand for SRS and Dr Suporn & Dr Chettawah seem to get the best results and are
the 2 most recommended surgeons. If you join ATSN you can communicate directly with others who have used these surgeons.

I hope this helps & I hope to see you on ATSN

Hi Noeleena,

For a major decision, I really want to go there and find out more and then get it done a few months later.

Are there Supportive girls there in Thailand I could meet?

Hi Linda,

I went there by my self & had surgery june / july 07 .

As such there are no surport groups not any i know of as i was only there for 23 days , i do know of very few who are liveing there one i have contact with . ill ask her,

most i know who live there are liveing as woman & i quess they may not have much to do with any groups .
having said that that does not say there are no groups . Ill try & find out.
If you go to Phuket .

Phuket Plastic Surgery Center

[email protected] .

Dr Sanguan is one neat guy very senitive to our needs & his crew are very good .

The new building is done & has 60 new beds . all the details are taken care of fact is its world class you could not wish for any better.
When i was there i met 6 other trans people from other countrys , the waiting time is normal 9 months i was over there with in 6
As youll see i did write in thier guest book .
they have the prices for all surgerys & every thing you need to know about .

Now there are some good Drs in bangkok ,& Chang Mai as well. i have friends who have been there as well.

Youll have to email them first of cause & explain what you need & then go from there .

Please p m me & ill let you know more ,
Hope this is of some help.
All the best ,

I would be nervous about going abroad for such surgeries personally.

I'd want it done as close to home as possible so I knew that they were covered by UK laws etc and would be easier to get after care and support (if something was not right later etc).

Though I have heard that it's cheaper & the results are better. So if I get to this point I'd def be looking more closely.

The results are better with top surgeons like Dr Suporn & Dr Chettawah for example, because both have been trained
by & also worked with American, Australian & European, surgeons and they perform more SRS than most other surgeons.
The head of my gender centre Dr Darren Russell has worked with surgeons in Thailand & these two come highly recommended.

Well you only get one chance at this I guess so would def be something I'd take time to decide. I wouldnt want to be left with no feeling down there for example, or something that looks unsightly/inauthentic.

Neither do I, that is why I really want to go to Dr Suporn in Thailand, have you seen the
photos of his work? Check it out under SRS Results on http://www.supornclinic.com/.

It doesnt get much better than that.

Wow! That's amazing work! I'd want a vagina under my panties and his work is so realistic! But despite that I don't think I could have the same orgasms as a woman has... no getting wet, no vaginal muscles or a g spot. So I guess I'll have to stick with my penis for a good orgasm. I'd only have a sex change if God changed me into a woman. And then I'd be into sex with men, but as a guy now I wouldn't touch a man.

You do realise this is the TRANSSEXUAL forum don't you? If you are not transitioning then
why even comment here? The poster was wanting feedback about surgeons in Thailand.

So if you have never had SRS, how can you come to all these conclusions about how your vagina would function post-surgery?

I have heard nothing but positive reports about how well Dr Suporn's vaginas work. Have you read up on any of the
techniques he uses and why he does things a certain way to maximise sensation and the results he actually gets?

All the girls I know who went through Dr Suporn & Chettawah can have great orgasm, as good as any orgasm they
ever had as a male and just like a typical female I am told. One girl only came back about 6 weeks ago and she told
me recently that 'the plumbing is all connected properly & the electricity is certainly turned on down there'. I would rather
take the advice of someone who has been through the experience than someone like you who hasn't no idea at all.

Thanks.

In essence, I put up this thread to ask around if there's anyone who are going to Thailand this March. If so, I might want to meet with you and exchange information. To me, it's not whether I'll do it but where and when. It's just a bit scary to do it in Thailand as I hardly know the place and the language. I might want to know the place a bit before committing myself. That's how I behave!

Hello, I was in Thailand for surgery in 2009 with Dr. Kamol Pansritum. This was the first time I was on a plane let alone to another country. I was afraid of the same things you said "place and the language" but needed to do what I had too! I was thinking just get there and get back but After 4 weeks I wanted to stay. The people are very friendly the food was fantastic just a great place to visit. I stayed at the Bangkok Gardens and there where several trans women from all over the world. We ended up going out for lunch's and dinner shows. It was very hard to say good-bye too all the great people I met. I really don't feel you need to worry about Thailand. I had a friend that was over there in 2006 for the same surgery and she said sit back and have fun enjoy the place! I was thinking ya "right" well she was right. Best of luck and be safe:)

No problems Linda. I see you made it onto the Australian Transsexual Support Network (http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/atsn/), you should feel
right at home over there. Many girls there are very familiar with the 'Tranny Chasers at the Taxi Club' :heehee:

One thing that concerns me is that you might not get your SRS done as soon as you would like because
you really do need to be on Hormone Therapy & under the care of doctors now, just like Jade said on ATSN....

The 'good' Doctors in Thailand follow the DSM - IV/SOC protocol on the treatment of Transsexuals. I suggest that you read it, if you haven't already as there are a number of hurdles necessary to gain the necessary documentation to have SRS. These include being on hormones, living in your chosen gender for a period of 12 months and having a Psychiatrist certify that you are ready for SRS. See http://wpath.org/Documents2/socv6.pdf Which sets out the Standards of Care for Gender Identity Disorders.

hi Melody,
I've experience with self prescribing hormones as I'm a registered nurse. I can also easily see an endocrinologist. It's not that. It's all due to my reluctance to upset my parents with my appearance changes. I used to look quite girlish after a few months of HRT in my 20's. I also only wanted to go to Bangkok to get used to the place first. I'll return in a few months or a year to do my SRS.

Hi.

I will say this & i have back up as well ,okay, you know im a Sanguan girl Phuket . Iv allready writen concerning this ,

A friend had surgery S R S , in New Zealand by one Dr the end result was worse than the back side of a whale , make no mistake this is fact because iv seen what the surgery was like & after 3 attemps to fix it again it was a sham .
it was not done right in the first place so any thing after was usless, . so my friend needed to have her surgery re done completly i suggested she come over to have hers redone after 3 weeks she did ,

Dr Sanguan is one neat guy who WILL redo any surgerys that have gone wrong this one was out right not even a problem at all for Sanguan .
While i was there just after my surgery another trans unbeknown to her had had other surgerys that had to be redone before she could even have S R S , Sanguan did it on the spot there & then sorted at no extra cost no waiting no oh dear i cant do this ,
this guy will just do what ever is needed to put people at rest & the results are great , now remember for some people it does not allways work this way.. & yes there can be problems ,

I know of quite a few in the U K who even after a year are having a lot of problems & thats from the U K surgeons so be very perpeared just in case you do have details & problems . It s when you add up how many surgerys that each Dr has done youll see there is a difference in how they are done as well the two stage is still the best. hence less problems after wards.

For me iv not seen any Dr s concerning my surgerys at all in over 3 , 1 / 2 years .

I went to Montreal and Dr. Brassard for my SRS so I can't really say much about Thailand and thier doctors there. Many of my friends went there for thier SRS. All were very impressed with the facilities, doctors, and hospital staff. The results (which I have seen) of the SRS in Thailand are very good. Looks like the real thing after all healed. I had to have some plastic surgery work done afterward. Technonogy and skill has greatly improved in 20 years.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
