Another year has gone by, and because of this board I have met many new people, (both in person as well as on-line). I have been in so many fun, as well as a few heated discussions with so many. I have learned a lot. And I wouldn’t trade any of them away. To the GG’s.. Thank you all.
I sure hope the best for all this new year and look forward to meeting so many more of you.
(You can fly Kimberly, but you can’t hide! Karen.. there’s not a hole deep enough. Tasha.. What ocean? And you others... you know who you are.)
As I type this there are almost 400 visitors “lurking”. I know a lot are members that don’t bother to sign in, but the vast majority I assume are non-members. Non-members.. you really don’t know what you’re missing. I’ve been a member for quite a while and so far nobody has made fun of me or pointed fingers. (except when I post pictures – but then who can blame them. That’s just part of the fun and family). Nobody has come knocking at my door or sent me hate mail. So why don’t you make it this year’s resolution and start the year off by joining and being a part of this wonderful family. I look forward to talking to you all.
The Best of the New Year to everyone

Thanks Stephanie, it's people like yourself who make newbies like myself to want to come on-line and make new friends, read others stories and contribute when and where appropriate.

I hope you have a fantastic New Years and 2011.

Happy New Year to you Stephanie. I have enjoyed knowing you personally and thru your post here, you are an inspiration. Hugs to you girl.

The "girls" in this forum are quite friendly. I initially had a masculine user name JohnH, and no one found fault with that. Then I changed it to the feminine variant JohannaH. If I were to transition to female my name would be Johanna.

I used to participate in SkirtCafe.org and found that the moderator and others were awfully picky about things. You could not use the word "pantyhose" since that was interpreted as underwear, and if I used the term feminine to describe clothing I was called on the carpet. I decided enough was enough and so I no longer participate in that forum.

I don't know about others, but when I had only a masculine side I was suicidal in my moods. Thank goodness I am still alive! I don't have those feelings anymore since my feminine side has been developed.

I'm only a recent joinee to this forum - I wasn't even a 'lurker'. I only found a link to this site when I was researching appropriate sites to recommend to my wife if the need arose.

After a quick perusal of the board I signed up straightaway. I like the sheer breadth of degrees of crossdressing and range of posters and opinions.

I've looked at other forums and not felt wholly comfortable with them. It might sound cliche'd but this is a forum that I feel my wife could read without fear of embarassment.

I don't know how long this site has been in existence but if I had joined up earlier I would have found the courage (and support) to take some necessary action sooner.

Glad to be here, and all the best for 2011 to you all,

Zoe

Stephanie, you said it!

And applies to me as well. Three years ago, I never thought I'd be out in public (malls, restaurants, clubs, gas stations, etc....) in a dress & heels, and now I'm hooked.

Happy New Year to you, and everone else on this forum! :Party2:

As for you lurkers & beginners, it's really not that hard. Knowing the ropes doesn't hurt either.

I used to "lurk" because I was too scared to join (I know it's silly), but now that I have joined and have started posting, I find it very theraputic and have found nothing but positive people on this forum. Thanks everyone!

From one Stephanie to another Stephanie, A very Happy New Year to you!! Of course, that wish also goes out to everyone else on this Forum. At my age, very late 70's, I am older than most of you who belong to the Forum or read it! I have been a crossdresser for over 60 years, which is probably longer than a lot of you have been alive. My dear wife passed away with cancer some 5 years ago, and I found this forum shortly after that. She knew about and accepted the fact that I was a CD, and fully supported me!! The forum had been a big help to me in many ways, and I am sure it will to do so.

Hi Stephanie,

As I type this there are almost 400 visitors “lurking”. Non-members.. you really don’t know what you’re missing.
So why don’t you make it this year’s resolution and start the year off by joining and being a part of this wonderful family. I look forward to talking to you all.

I was a lurker for a while before joining, and am so glad I did join. Reading the posts is a great start, but it's so much better being able to participate in discussions, and gain access to the members only sections. I emphatically second the invitation to anyone sitting on the fence. Join in, I did....2 years on and wow, haven't things changed for the better in so many ways :daydreaming:.

Tasha.. What ocean?

Exactly......the tyranny of distance is non existant in cyberspace.

Stephanie, you said it!

And applies to me as well. Three years ago, I never thought I'd be out in public (malls, restaurants, clubs, gas stations, etc....) in a dress & heels, and now I'm hooked.

Definately agree ... hooked for life.

Very nice post Stephanie. I am with you. This forum has become part of my life, The people are are Some of the best friends that I have in the world. I have many people that I see on a daily basis that aren't as good as the friends that I have here.

So Lurking or not, Happy New Year to everyone.

Idk, maybe it's just the strong amongst us that can survive that crazy, invisible, mutating ray that shoots out through the monitor when we fully registered and turns us into raving maniacs that can no longer live normal happy lives ever again!
I mean really, look at us, once we were just curious CDers and now we run through the malls like zombies looking for that perfect 4" strappy sandal to go with that super cute new ensemble that we had to run over that unsuspecting GG to get to.

Wink wink, nudge nudge

Happy Femme New Year to you all.
Cassie

Joining CD.com will NOT END ANYTHING! :Angry3:
Rather, it is the BEGINNING!

I came out of the closet online here, about 3 years ago. And, I blame this site for leading me down the Yellow Brick Road of CDing!

I won't say joining here will; make u friends around the world, take u to the SCC in Atlanta, or turn u into Cinderella on Halloween in Disneyland, as it has for ME!:heehee:

But, I CAN promise u that your life will change in ways you've NEVER IMAGINED! And, be careful what u wish for, because u can NEVER GO BACK!!!

Adding my endorsement of this site - so many good things to read and learn about. It is great if are a lurker, but even greater if you participate and share your experiences and ideas with the group.
My best wishes to all for an exciting and fulfilling 2011. To Stephanie, I hope our paths cross again in the near future.

I want to echo many who have said they get so much from actually participating in these discussions. I never knew this site existed until I joined and I have learned so much and experienced so much kindness and support and have so much fondness for so many members here. I just don't know where I would be if it weren't for this site and it's members. Happy New Year to all whether you are members or not.

I'm another newbie that lurked for quite a while. Such great people here, and now I can participate in the conversations.

Glad I joined :)

Happy New Year, Stephanie and all the others here. For the record, I joined up immediately after finding this site. Except for one grouch, we all seem to be lovely ladies.

PretzelGirl
01-01-2011, 10:37 AM
You are a lady indeed Sherrie if you only see one grouch. :heehee: But we are all types and we are all coming together and that is what is important.

I see it like Stephanie M. This forum has advanced my life, especially in the last year. I can't picture where I would be if I had not joined here and let my closet go at its pace instead. But most importantly are the friendships. It seems I make new ones every month and I cherish them all.

I'll admit, I read the forum for a few months before jumping in. I tend to get a feel for the lay of the land so that I don't rush in like a bull. I don't regret the delay, but I certainly am glad I decided to join.

I'm happy for you Sara. Although I don't think we should not forget the aspect of just using the forum to voice our thoughts. In itself, it can help us to answer out own questions instead of looking for someone else to answer. Kind of like our own virtual counselors couch. And people can do it all from the "closet". Our own little secret.

Ah Stephanie, I used to lurk, then I joined and still I lurk. I suppose it isn't really lurking, I just can't think of anything to say.
