So I dressed for two nights in a row before New Years, which was so wonderful. I never wanted it to end but, of course. My girl-friend room mate, convinces me to go to a mutual friends party.......and to get back to male mode so we could go. Yes of course I said. (not the type of party I'd feel comfortable in femme) (even though more than a handful already know about my femme tendencies)

So, I took off my GIRL clothes other than my tights and thong; which I wore under my jeans, which was nice but not totally. I put on a nice collared shirt and jacket and went to the party.

Upon arriving,.....OF COURSE! I was immediately filled with jealousy! Watching all the women sasche around the party wearing such exsquiste outfits, shoes, jewelry, make-up, etc. made me so JEALOUS.

I wish I could have dressed like myself! Sometimes I feel like I'm in a Jail of gender expectations! What do you do when you feel like this?

Let's see two days as YOU want and ONE day as your girlfriend wants, I'm not too good with math, but I think you've come out ahead and had a chance to make her happy . What ever happened to compromise and pleasing your mate ? Why not pick another night , get dressed up and go to a club with friends or have the friends over for a small party ?

You made your girl friend happy didn't you? I have never made a mistake when I've made my wife happy.

I'm sorry, She's a friend (a girl) that happens to be my roommate. We are not boyfriend and girlfriend.

Let me clarify.

It wasn't a compromise at all, I had a blast I knew I would!!!
I guess it was a decision.
A decision that came down to this..........

Hang out with friends and go to a party!
OR
Stay home and DRESS!!!

Shockingly I wasn't sure. Which isn't like me! I almost chose to stay at home and do my drag thing rather than put on m clothes and go to a party.

And I did, and had a blast, but part of me hurt inside.

I have to agree that hiding yourself even just a little is like being in jail. You have no freedom in jail or the self imposed boundaries . Hopefully you won't have to do that often.

it was a good thing that you went out. you can stay at home and dress any day but how often can you go have fun at a party?

Better than how I spent new year's - sitting at home doing nothing.
If I had been asked to go somewhere I probably would not have but it would be nice to be invited.

Yep that was my night too. but I'm not a party type person (in either mode).

Not a party animal anymore, either. But I did feel a bit deprived because we spent NYE with one of our daughters and her bf. They aren't aware of my dressing preferences ;)
