Well, here is a deep one.

I dream the word and term "Crossdresser" goes the way of the Do do.

What I mean is that the clothing we choose to wear is no longer controlled by our sex or even gender. We can just look and wear what we please. The only "controlling" thing being that the clothing be "appropriate" to the situation.

In other words for a night at the symphony I can as a male choose to wear a gown, or a tux, items that would not be overly appropriate at say an amusement park.

But that is about it as far as limiting factors go.

That isn't too bad a dream, wouldn't you say?

A little more information on the church issue...
Probably you want to go to your current church and be accepted by your current friends. However, if you want to make new friends and find a place that is open to diversity, definitely search for Unitarian Universalist congregations in your area: http://www.uua.org/
Look for one that describes itself as a "welcoming congregation". That means they have completed a certification process to verify that they welcome GLBT visitors and members. My congregation is welcoming, and includes gays & lesbians & PFLAGs. One member's TG (maybe TS?) partner visits occasionally.

Recently we had an online poll about selecting a new minister, and the respondents said they would not have a problem with a gay or lesbian minister. There were some reservations about a TG minister--not opposition, but a recognition that even those who are open and sympathetic still have little experience with TGs.

I have great acceptance, so in light of other family issues, it is hard to think big about CDing when there are other things that I would like to have a wish come true for and improve it.

My first real fear was when, after a meal in a restaurant, I needed to use a toilet. For Jennifer to go to the men's was out of the question! So going to the ladies' was my only option - confidently! No problem really, and I've done it often since then.

I have gone to my Roman Catholic church many times in a skirt suit only because I was going shopping afterwards. As long as you blend in and are very passable it would be no bother. You don't need to go to a special church.

I was recently shown some pictures of my baptismal garb by an uncle who kept them after my aunt (god-mother) passed away.
