right here is my concern as part of my everyday life i have a rather hefty set of sideburns thinks elvis 1970's, the thing is whilst these dont affect any cross dressing intentions i have in my own home as soon as i step outside (if and when) they are going to be a huge give away.
The obvious answer would be to shave them off however this is where is gets complicated i work as an Elvis Presley Tribute Artist so as you can imagine they are quite critical to my look however i feel they are really dragging down pardon the pun my cross dressing persona what would you do?

What would Elvis do?
He would make a song about it, wiggle his hips while singing it, and have everyone swooning... 8=P
On a serious note - this is a dillema - perhaps a wig that drapes in a way to hide/blend with the sideburns?

yeah wig that comes in was an idea i was having, any idea if there is anything i could put on them to conceal them abit after they are jet black and do stand out rather alot....is there a concealer or something i could put on them
It seems like you should be able to get some high-quality artificial side burns that might be just as good as the real thing. That is what the FtM's do.

i started out with them but after 20 minutes on stage even the strongest glue is struggling to keep them on your face with the lights and heat etc and tbh i just dont like them they usually make u look cheap....i no picky much lol

Just when I thought I had heard everything - now here's a crossdresser who's also an Elvis tribute artist. I love it!
I wish the people I meet locally were half as interesting as the ones I meet sometimes online. Of course, maybe they are. They just aren't revealing all.
It sounds like your Elvis gig is more regular than going out dressed en femme. So it would seem that you would need to lean toward keeping the natural burns. You might try a trick sometimes used by Drag Queens and crossdressers to cover masculine looking eyebrows. I think it's generally called eyebrow wax. After applying the wax, you then use concealer or other makup to cover and blend. Krylan makes a product called "Eyebrow Plastic". The maker is based in Berlin. So, I'm sure the product, or something like it, is available in the UK through a theatrical makup supplier.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I'd drop back 20 yards and go for a field goal...depends on the score and amount of time left on the clock...
In my opinion, it is easier to cosmetically "add" something than it is to "conceal" something. Particularly if you are in spotlights.
I completely shaved off my eyebrows one night when a hair-plucking session outlasted my patience...lol I freaked out at first, but then it just became another curious experimentation exercise. I just use eye liner/shadow to draw them on now, according to which gender I wish to appear at the time.
Nobody has made any comments for the first couple of months, so I guess I am good to go. But I do live alone, work from home, and wear a baseball cap if I think anybody is going to get too close...:heehee:
I guess that could be considered a "plus" side of being single and unattached. Then again, I could be a loser who is just kidding myself...:D
I vote for shaving them and using stage make-up.

Sometimes you have to compomise... I would ditch the sideburns as they don't look so great in real-life anyways. Find some way to draw them on or glue them. Going male to female requires perfecting everything as much as possible and sideburns is just not something you can work around imo.

My opinion is Do you want to stay in the closet or mingle with the public which ever you pick the answer is obvious

Try Presenting Elvis as a crossdresser
I like Debra's idea!
Life is a beach as they say! I am not an Elvis impersonator but I look so much better with a short beard/designer stubble in male mode, and people tell me this... so to do Kaz I need to shave it all off! I am sure my wife has worked this one out! I go away..Ii come back shaved.. etc..
Well, this is it and I need to deal with it. The male me looks best with a stubbly beard, and Kaz doesn't... so my public profile is... sometimes I am shaved and sometimes I aren't!
Kaz, for me wouldn't work with the beard... Elvis the CD just might!

Shave them off and buy some sick-ons for the show/work! Got any blue suede pumps? Do an Elvis's lesser known sister impersonation. Did he have a sister? I dunno.
Uhhh.....Thank-you, thank-you very much......
