I have a question for my sister post-ops and pre-ops too if they care to chime in lol.

I know you are supposed to take a small amount of estrogen a day, but why? I was on HRT for almost six years 3+ pre-op and 2+ post-op. Unfortunately my Endo relocated across the country shortly after my SRS, so my GP took over the hormone duty. She did a full blood work up last summer and my estrogen level was that of a post-menapausal woman (I was only taking about a quarter of my pre-op dosage) since surgery 2 years before. We decided to try no estrogen since at such low levels it probably wasn't doing much anyway.

I weaned off of it over the next few weeks and besides hotflashes have not had any ill effects, even the hotflashes have leveled off now.

So my question really is, What are the benefits of continuing to take it? Are they worth the risk of increased risk of cancer, stroke, liver damage. I dont think so.
They don't make me "feel" any different, after close to 6 years my body is as feminized as its going to get.

So what's y'alls take on this?

Slight possible bone loss? I mean there really is no way to answer other than if we were your doctor. If you have horrible menopausal symptoms then maybe you need to rethink it but stopping is really a choice.

If you are really curious, take a look at long term effects on Eunichs.

I thought it was basically to prevent osteoporosis, also I know post ops that still want to cycle. Get a second opinion though.

I have read some literature from doctors on the subject. It appears that for the most part it is possible for a POST-OP girl to stop taking estrogen completely. With that said I doubt most TS girls give it up because hey ya know it tastes good. LOL. I have pondered dropping it completely since currently I take just 1 MG a day.

I don't WANT the estrogen level of a post menopausal woman. I want the estrogen level of a PRE menopausal women. And yeah, it tastes SOOO good.

JMHO
