I have been on HRT for a year now and yesterday my wife told me that my cheeks have become much puffier like a natal woman's.

I can only see a sight change myself but my wife sees more.

Have any of you had fatty tissue increases covering your cheek bones?

I have only been on HRT for nine months, but in the last week I have had two people tell me that my face is becoming rounder (fatter). I have also noticed that my hips are a little fatter too, pants seem to fit better and skirt and tops look like the fat distribution is going were it needs to go. Very cool.

I've only been on HRT for 7 months, but have had changes to my face for a little while now. I showed a picture of myself pre-hrt to some friends that never knew that old me and they were surprised at the difference.

Absolutely, as well as some re distrbution around the thigh and back side area's. I'm now broad where a broad should be broad.

Reading these replies makes me anxious to start HRT. It'll be at least another 6 months before I even get into therapy, but the wait is worth it.

It's funny that!

Last weekend I was going through some older photo's, me before, during and after 8 months. Wow. The changes. You look in the mirror every day and you don't see the little changes that happen slowly. There are lots. Hips start getting rounder. Pants you could slide into no longer are easy to slip into. Arms are thinner. Everything is so much heavier. I went back over my photo's in response to meeting some people I haven't seen for over a year. They didn't recognise me - irrespective of the hair, clothes and makeup. I thought I basically looked the same, just with a few surface modifications, but they could see the physical changes in addition to the more superfluous ones. Especially in my face!! Most of the changes have become more noticeable in the last 2 months.

I'm sorry. I haven't been on HRT for over a year, but I really am looking forward to the continuing change that HRT is bringing. It's amazing the changes a couple of little pills and some liquid in a patch can do. Continuing to love the journey.

OMG I am so jealous , I have been on HRT for 13 months now and I see none of the fat redistribution but my breasts are as large as my mothers already and I am bigger than my sister (is she ever jealous) and body hair , wow I only need to shave my legs every few weeks and chest once a week now. I keep hoping the hips will get bigger and face more feminine . Patience I know.

Sadly, not much change there. But I have a fairly "gaunt" face (little fat). I had hoped, but facial changes seem to start (for me) only after a lot of distribution to the belly....

I think my features have softened, very slightly. I've been on HRT for 18 months now, but I started pretty old, that likely is going to slow down facial changes.

After 4+ years on hormones, I definitely feel and see changes in terms of fat distribution. I've been told that my face is softer and rounder. I also have a lot more natural padding where I used to have to wear foam pads before transitioning. Although I already had noticable breast tissue development before due to gynecomastia since puberty, I am now a "C" cup. The changes have all been very gradual over the last few years.

Yes but mostly it has been much further south, as in the seat of my panties. LOL. My face has softened as well as many of my physical features but as my endrocrynologist put it, "I guess your tush is going to be much more round" than she thought initially. Having a skinny butt before it is nice. LOL

Traci,
In answer to your question. i have been on hormone therapy since 1998 and you will see a difference in your facial roundness and fat distribution with time. Not all will see the same amount but a general softness occurs over your entire body. for most it will never equal a natal female.
