I was talking to my partner the other day about drag stars. Well I was reminded of a tranny party I went to a long, long time ago at the home of a gay couple. In the middle of the evening one of the guys put on a drag show – complete with spotlight, big intro and music and vocals. Of course, it was crackly 33rpm version of Shirley Bassey’s ‘Goldfinger’.

So letting your imagination take control of your sense, reserve etc. There you are behind the curtain on the stage of a smoky nightclub, the MC is about introduce you….

‘The Pink Pussycat is proud to welcome back to its stage, the crème de la crème of femme, the signorita of salsa, the madame of chic, the Queen of sublime – the one….the only…..’

OK – fill in the blank - what’s your drag name?

And then the band strikes up – the curtain opens – the spotlight hits you and you step gracefully to the microphone…..and the crowd goes wild...

I must be getting old cos I have no idea who the seahorses are...or Voodoo and Serano...but I like the names.

'Fever' and 'Charade' - are more my style I think.
