My spouse retired a few months ago and we've started joining various hobby, collector, and activity groups now that she has the time.

We've joined most of the new groups as two women.

There is one group, however, that she has more interest in than I do. She asked me to participate in that one in male mode, since some of the members are people she knew from work.

We were at the meeting this month and the membership chairperson came over to her and said, "I need you to clear up something about your membership application. Who is this other woman that you listed?"

Apparently, she had automatically put my femme name on the application!

That's one of the times you wish you had been given a sexually ambiguous name at birth. "Dana", "Chris", "Carey", etc.

That is almost TOO funny. Yep, I too would like to know how she answered. It has the makings of a classic retort.

Thanks for this, I needed a bit of humor in my day.

Whoa! Just imagine that happening if you were completely closeted. So, now tell us how you cleared it up (if you did).

It wasn't just my first name, en femme I have a different last name as well.

My spouse is extremely cool, especially under fire.

She laughed and said, "Ooops! My sister-in-law and I do so many things together that I put down her name by mistake! Please correct it and list my husband."

(When we are together and I am en femme, I am her sister-in-law since she is married to my twin brother).

Hugs,
Persephone.

Wow, when even your spouse has to think about what gender you are, you've arrived!

Okay, that's funny! I don't know how many times I've had to look really close to see which Facebook account I'm signed onto, or which bathroom I enter! Ahhh, the lives we lead!

I had to think about the sister-in-law logic. Funny story and believable reason.

You mean Barbara isn't a non-gender specific name? :heehee: Good cover by your wife!
