As many know I work in our building repair department of Physical Plant. Okay how does this apply to being a transsexual female? Well today in doing my work I had to hang a mirror in the womens restroom and although the room was marked with signs indicating it was closed for repairs this twenty something student wiggles in to use the facility. When you have to go you go. Well she took a look at me and proceeded into one of the two stalls and did her business and then came over to the sinks to wash her hands.

At this she turns to me and asked how it was going with the repairs and hoped I had a good day. I smiled and said thank you and wished her a good day also. It was a small moment that one cannot plan or expect but there it was and the feeling was so wonderful. We often ask if we are accepted and in one moment the bridge had been crossed and the "hand" of friendship was offered.

Just thought you would like to hear. Teri

You are so right. Those moments are precious. Makes all the hardship and doubt and struggle worth the while. I wish for you many more of those moments. And thanks for sharing. :0)

Sometimes it's the little things in life that can be the most rewarding.

There is nothing like that "woman to woman connection", men just can't express it. Having said that, a woman is also capable of tearing your heart out, eating it and stomping whats left into the mud.......:D
