I recently had another outpatient appointment and found out that funding has been approved for me to have an assessment at Charing Cross. Annoyingly, I have to wait for my appointment longer because the doctor that processed the funding application didn't apply for the assessment at the same time as applying for the funding (apparently she wanted to make sure funding was in place before going ahead with the assessment, understandable but now I have to wait a bit longer...). Anyway, this was some good news in my currently dismal life, I've also never been to london before!

Lacey, that is great news as I know how much you want and need your life to continue on the track to being who you are :) Sorry for the wait, but as you said its still great news. And a trip to London to boot.. win win situation. So happy for you..

Nothing is free dear, but it's nice for Lacy that she doesn't have to pay for it. Good for you Lacy!

Hi Lacey, that is wonderful news, but tell me, would there not have been a possibility to get you into a clinic that is closer by (is there one in Manchester)?

If you have never been to London before, make sure you give yourself enough time once you do have the appointment. Coming from that far, you might even prefer to do an overnight stay so you can arrive refreshed at your appointment. If you are travelling from Manchester Piccadilly you need to allow Two and a quarter hours to London then about another three quarters of an hour to get to the clinic.

I know the frustrations of waiting for everything to come together, my doctor went down the route prescribed by the NHS only to discover that my local PCT works in a non-standard way. They took 4 months to approve my funding.

Still, good things come to she who waits

I have heard that Charing is better at getting things done than the one in Manchester?
