View Full Version : activities while dressed - anything else to do instead of shopping?

I'm trying to figure out what other things I can do outside of the house while dressed. I've been shopping, but that drains the bank account quickly. I'm leaning towards eating out, but I hate to eat alone and for now, it would be hard to coordinate with another person. I guess the movies are another option.

So tell me, what have you done while dressed? I'd love to hear :battingeyelashes:

Pretty much what you've always done Hon, except maybe in a different costume. Changing your clothes doesn't mean you have to change the things you like to do.:)

Denise,
Thank you for your input.
but...
June's alter ego works on cars and mountain bikes. I don't care for grease on my blouse, nor dirt in my makeup. :) Although I do wear female spandex shorts when I ride my mountain bike. They are shorter and low rise.

I do have a collection of guns and have considered going to a shooting range. Can you imagine me with my M1A rifle. I don't think heels make a stable shooting platform.

I struggle with the same problem .
I have been going to community concerts or plays and I recently joined a "Meet-Up " group and hope to get involved in their activities .
The Spring and Summer also offer yard sales and Flea Markets .

I say loosen up! Go dancing! Perhaps a bar or casino or what ever you enjoy!

June,

Let you imagination run wild. Here are some of the things I do and I don't go bar hoping as I don't drink:
1) grocery shop
2) visit the park
3) Visit a museum
4) travel - by plane, train or automobile
5) sightsee in the city - NYC, Boston, etc
6) eat out
7) visit the zoo
8) attend the symphony
9) attend a play
10) whatever I want.

Some of these activities also allow you to dress well without being out of place.

Enjoy,
Leann

June,

Your idea about going to a shooting range dressed femme is not as far-fetched as you may think. I've done that a number of times with friends. Heels are not recommended for an outdoor range, but should be OK if it is an indoor range. Here I am with my AR-15 last month:
155071

Other things that are fun to do (that I have done)are: Go to the movies, visit museums, go to comedy or improv clubs, go bowling, visit the zoo, eat lunch at Hooters, ride the local rapid transit system, watch a parade, attend a play, take a walk in the park, and take care of ordinary errands - like taking care of business at your bank or renewing the license plates for your vehicle.

Whatever you do, hold your head high and do it with confidence.

I do a lot of the things that Leann does, especially eating out. I am a widower, and although I am a good cook I like to eat out. I always take along a book to read, but usually wind up talking to other people. I should mention that when I go out to eat by myself I am almost always dressed enfemme from the neck down. By that I mean that I wear no wig and no makeup!! So I am a guy in a skirt or dress with lingerie underneath!! Been going out that way since my wife passed away some years ago. She always did my wig and makeup! Sure I get looks and sometimes questions, but it doesn't bother me!! I dress to please myself, not anybody else!! My attitude is, if you don't like the way I look don't look at me!!

Just dress up and go out to enjoy yourself!!

I've broken in a couple of straight bars and clubs, and made many casual friends and acquaintances there. I have a circle of friends who only know the Diane side :)

That takes experience and/or confidence, but it's very liberating.

I live in a tolerant place (Los Angeles) though. I don't think I'd be this bold in backwoods Florida, for example!

Learn from the women.

Shopping and buying are two different activities.

I always enjoy shopping (even in drab). Hardly buy anything except for planned necessities. I don't have a lot of disposable income.

I've looked through the "meet-up" groups and I never saw one for CDers. Did I miss that certain group?

We have a local Meet up group here in the Denver area that enables a good many of us to spend time together going out to various types of activities! Perhaps that would work for you as well!

Do a google on Meet up groups, transgender, crossdressers, transsexual like I did to find the different groups or a local group to join.

While I have yet to go out dressed. I have thought of things to do while dressed. I am not one for shopping nor club scene. So I figure I could do what I want to do dressed. I have thought of the shooting range also. I even thought of the perfect outfit. a nice polo or t, my black mini, comfy shoes. you have to be comfortable when doing practical pistol. LOL

Thank you ladies for your suggestions and ideas.

I like the ideas for the museum or sightseeing. It gave me an idea to visit the Dallas Arboretum and do my own photoshoot. A visit to Hooters sounds like fun too. I'm also thinking of Barnes and Noble to browse magazines, or Starbucks to just hang out. If I go gun shooting, I'll have a to find another range...I'd like stay incognito. I'll have to figure out the outdoor activity stuff and sweating as June with a wig. My mountain bike is masculine in my opinion.

Tease the truckers. I love just driving the highway and giving them a great show. A little "accidental" panty flash, stocking top, etc. Lots of fun and they have no idea!

I've been to classical concerts, jazz clubs, plays, operas (a great place to dress up a bit), museums, book stores, cinemas, restaurants, visiting friends, and to be really mundane, grocery stores. All things I would do anyway.

I agree. You could run errands, go to DMV, get the oil changed in the car, etc.

I don't feel the need to do any particular activity dressed. I love to just go out walking, sometimes on residential streets and sometimes on commercial streets. I love to window shop at night, and see myself in the store windows. I love the sound of my heels on the sidewalk. The feel of the breeze on my legs and up under my dress and coat, and that vulnerable feeling that comes with walking in heels outdoors. That slight tingle that puts you on full alert, when a car slows down for a better look, or goes around the block. I know I'm looking good when some testerone crazed kid hangs out the passenger window and yells "I love you", or someone honks the horn. And I'm thinking "if he only knew". :heehee:

I go out as Janet almost daily so apparently I cannot go shopping every time. As Janet, I dance, play bowling, pool, tennis, visit libraries, book stores, cafe, dine out, I go movie theaters, gym, I hike, jog, attend support group meetings...the activities are endless. You just need to do them with confidence...

I have been contemplating this very same question, trying to identify things and activities that I can do while dressed up. what I came up with might just suprise you.... Anything I can do when I am dressed in drab.
I have essentially challenged myself to performing all those mundane daily chores, errands and activities that just have to get done. I am not currently living enfemme full time...but do hope to begin doing so within the next 6-months. I thought I would wait for the classic Crossdressing season of fall and winter to begin my transformation. until then, I am taking small steps.

Anything that you would do as a male would work. I have been to many movies, dinner and even karaoke. My favorite would have to be going to sporting events and concerts. The world is out there waiting and we should experience the whole thing.

I enjoy going out and just walking the small and having a light meal. Just because you are at the mall doesn't mean you have to by. A walk in the park. Other wise I love just being dressed as LoriAnn and realxing around the house.

One thing that you may consider is that sometimes we live a sheltered life, not by design and not by direct choice, but primarily due to laziness. How many times have you heard a person say that they only visit cool and different places when they have out of town visitors and they are the tour guide? If you are smart, use the dressing as an excuse to see more of where you live. I bet that there are many nearby points of interest, places to see and experience and things to do. Check your city's website, county and state tourist guides. You will be surprised at what is out there that would be fun to do in guy or girl mode. Try it and you will probably like it.

Thanks Allie, I wish I lived in SF, it's easier to do those things in a city like SF. I visit relatives twice a year and never run out of things to see. I would love to do those things as June.

Yesterday was the first time I did things like fill my car up with gas, walk into a grocery store, just look around at stores, rather than buying everything I try on. I am more relaxed walking around. I concentrate on my arm position. Pointing my wrists forward to tuck my elbows in and letting my body sway gently or glide, with my head held up high.

On another note: I am trying to plan an outing to the Dallas Arboretum to take self portraits one of these days. Having a camera with a flip out screen and a remote control make that easier. I'll have more "June" time in July to go out, but it will be sweltering hot.

I'm thinking of going to one of the mall photo studios for a photo session, also take a cooking or craft class - maybe with a friend.

I like to go to the library and read books or magazines about makeup, fashion, etc..

Thrift stores are a great way to do a lot of shopping without breaking the bank (and you can make a day of it driving across town to different thrift stores, never know what kind of treasures you might find)

Craft classes are fun too but that depends on the setting and how passable you are. If you go to a class of all women (which many craft classes are) and you don't pass then you had better be personable and engage them otherwise they will likely be creeped out. I've done sewing classes and jewelry making, both of which were great fun.

I completely forgot this one, maybe because its become pretty routine for me. It's a good way to spend a good amount of time in public without paying my way through a day to be out en femme. I often spend hours at a coffee shop or bookstore with my netbook and do some work, email, browsing, etc.

the bookstore or a coffee shop....I like that. I hardly ever go to either but June could start to read and drink coffee. June's alter ego doesn't like turning pages nor does he like coffee. It's just television and diet coke. :)

Thanks. That's a great indoor suggestion!

I find walks very exciting.. though one must be careful where you go.

Our downtown area is partly open late, I pass the open bars and venture to the more secluded yet safe areas.

There is a paved walkway on the river in Chattanooga and here where I live, night is my favorite time, and I do carry adequate self-preseveration methods
[items left blank as not to offend our overly sensitive members]

Driving with a nice dress and /me pumps excites truckers who strain to keep pace :)

Yard work!! I have a big yard and a garden and I amalmost always Carla when working in the yard. Did you ever notice how people always ignore someone woring in their yard? I have not cut my hair in over two years, so wearing shorts and a tee with my forms, hair pulled back with a banana clip, and I'm just another women on a riding lawnmower.

Bike riding, of course! Nothing, and I mean nothing is more fun dressed than a nice leisurely bike ride. A colorful dress, heels, hose and th' ol' 3 speed - Heaven!

Yes, a coffee place ( ones with free wifi a bonus )- you can log onto places like CD.com and report on the guy who keeps staring at your chest for example. :)
In public places with people around, you can also pick a nice person to ask to take your pic for you ( women being easiest to ask ).

Kim, I think I may plan to fly one day as June - a day trip out of Dallas to Austin or Albuquerque, and then back again. It would be like June on a one day business trip. You've certainly given me the courage to do so with all of your trips. I love reading them.

Yard work is something even June's alter ego doesn't like to do...besides, my heels would get too dirty and I my hose would be covered with grass :)

"Do you like it? "
I was being facetious in that comment, but sometimes yes, sometimes no, depends on the type of attention.
