Argh!!! God I hate being stuck with this male body. Here is my dilemma. I have electrolysis on monday morning. Today (sunday) I want to go somewhere but I don't go out as a male anymore except around my kids and parents. Obviously at some point that will become impossible. Anyway I don't really want to be the bearded lady, haven't shaved since friday morning.
any suggestions? do i just need to suck it up and accept that having visible facial hair 1 or 2 days a week is part of the process or do I hide out at home. a third option I guess is to just go out au natural. No make up, no wig, and let people think what they want, at this point I'm sure i just look like a very effeminate male. I don't think I've passed over into the realm of masculine female yet which i'd feel more comfortable with.

Since the electrolysis will take many treatments, what you are going through this weekend will become a regular event for you every few weeks. So, I recommend that you experiment a bit, trying a different look, and even staying inside once in a while. That way you will find what approach, or more than one, works for you. Unfortunately, it is a necessary inconvenience to reach your final gaol. Good luck and let us know what you decide and how it goes.

I hope you started with laser first , unless you got to many white hairs. Best to be treated on a monday as like you , I can get clean for the rest of the week. My apointments are every 2 weeks now and its just over 4 hours so I can get the whole face clean.
As you will have to except some hairs before treatment to be sticking out. Use a cheap battery trimmer, not the tinny ones but like a conair to trim the size down just enough so the electrologist can grab it with her forceps. If you have alot of dark hair with a shadow effect , use make up or dye them white. Basicly get used to be out with facial hairs, why hide? just trim them down if there way to long. Good luck.

On Wednesday and Thursday nobody is allowed to see me, except when I go to work which is by myself and sometimes my customer and the woman who performs my facial torture. Otherwise I lock myself up in my house for those two days. I guess it’s just what you feel comfortable with.

Find a different electrologist?
They don't all require you to let your beard grow for several days before each appointment.

My electrologist says that I can not shave the morning of my appointment, but I like to make it easy for her so I give her the day before too. If it's easier then it is faster. If I have to pull a nail out of wood, it is a lot easier if there is a little sticking out. It just makes sense.

there is no requirement around electrolysis as stephanie says..however, i think you would be making a bad judgment call because it's vitally important to get every hair possible in every session ..if you miss hairs because they are not really out yet, you'll simply extend your number of sessions...every time you do a section , whatever is missed is missed, and you'll just have to get it later..
for what it's worth i am post surgery and today i'm sitting here cooped up in my house because my face is so beat up from shaving i'm giving it some days off...i did go out to the market for a some milk and apples, but i couldnt wait to get out of there..
it's just part of the whole drill...it sucks but only time and money will get you hair free...
your scenario (and mine) is why so many of us here counsel to START ELECTROLYSIS IMMEDIATELY if you have any thought of ever transitioning..

It might be kind of funny to say this but I had six setting of laser but I still have to shave every morning. I am well post op but I guess it is not a big deal in my book. Such is life I suppose.

I had a year of laser on the general beard area and still go back for my upper lip at about 6-8 weeks apart. I think I am up to 14 or 15 treatments so far, but the areas that still need work are getting less.
And someday I will start on the grey/white hairs. It really does pay to start early.

I decided to go out "fuzzy" I had plucked all the hairs on my lip and chin above the jaw so what was growing out was under my jaw line. luckily It was really nice out so I was hanging out outside after dark so I don't think anyone noticed. The problem I've encountered so far is that people are so polite, who knows what they notice or really thinking!
Anyway I'm glad I went out, it was fun and I talked to several women I hadn't met before.
I started with a new electrologist who I like much better. he charges the same as the last one but was much more efficient, less painful, and I hope more effective.

A surprising number of out and about TG/TS girls still shave daily.
But a surprising number of natal girls shave often also, especially as they age and estrogen levels decline. They just don't talk about it very much.
I waited until I was done with electrolysis.
There is always E3000 if you don't want to do the weekly routine...

At the risk of sounding cold , get over it , we all must bear this burden . Personally I stop shaving 2 days prior to my electrolisis and I deal with customers every day . It will take some years but you will get through it and look back on it and laugh.
WOW, good thing you don't live in Japan!!!!!!! talk about problems.
