Can't find my lipstick anywhere and have just finished doing a pretty thorough cleaning looking for it...where is it?? And, yes, I looked in the closet where it belongs!

Check you purse? I always have an extra stick or two in there. Anyways they are usually round and do tend to roll around a bit. I'd start vacuuming and see what turns up...

The same thing happened to me. I lost my only good eye liner.
I left it on my bedroom table and when I went to use it there it was, gone!
So I did a systematic search of the whole house but I never found it.
It’s almost scary. Reminds me of the twilight zone.

Current wife accepts, but first wife divorced me over cd-ing. Deeply closeted (until busted), I remember having to account for and dispose of properly all ten of the adhesive nail tabs (the backing you peel off). Aaaargh

I'm loving some of the reples to this one. As for "cleaning up", I track the tabs for the wig tape and empty the trash into the bag that I do for the kitty litter and that ends up in the garage work can. I then clean the bathroom with a tissue and cleaner picking up all of the lose hairs. No one else in the house has long brown hair so it's got to go. The tissues used for nail polish remover end up in the turlet and flushed. On top of all that, when I get postal deliveries of stuff, I get the packages into the garage where I have a confetti shreader that shreads all of the paperwork and boxes. And the list goes on....

i will trade you one lost lipstick cap for a lost pair of (1/4 carrot ea) diamond earrings. loaned to me from my mom so now i have to go out and buy her new ones..ouch the cost as these were better grade stones.

Checked your partners purse or cosmetic bag/dresser? I also lost an eyeliner once and found it months later under my desk tucked behind a leg of the desk, whooo but lost lippie, especially if its "your nice lippie" too Yikes.

My wife always carries and extra lipstick now because I can never seem to find mine. It's either too large a handbag or too small a mind. LOL

I rarely lose stuff, but I tend to occasionally leave things laying around out in the open where visitors might see them. I live alone and I'm used to having stuff laying out in the open, particularly in the bathroom, and I put it all away if I'm expecting company.

I'm so used to seeing my stuff that I occasionally miss things. I have my two grandsons here for most of the day and overnight every Sunday and then I take them to school on Monday morning (about a 60 mile round trip) because their dad works nights and I, along with his dad and my ex take turns watching the boys to help out. Anyway, the last time they were over, I returned home from taking them to school and suddenly saw a pair of my big dangly, girly earrings sitting on a light stand in the living room where I had left them after taking them off a couple nights before. If the boys saw them, they didn't show it, but I need to be more careful.

I know the feeling! I am missing a pink lipstick and lip liner and I have looked in all of "usual places" as well as in pockets of
what I might have worn with that color, all to no avail. Of course, it is not like I do not have some more (grin).

I remember one time that my wife was complaining that her good lipsticks were disappearing. Turned out that her handbag had a slight tear at the bottom corner of the pocket in which she kept the lipstick. We found four or five lipsticks lurking behind the lining!

The other day I used bobby pins in my wig to hold it up as I snuck out to shop. When I returned home I counted the pins as I put them away and I was not missing any. Today I was walking in the hallway and spotted one on the floor... opps. If someone else found it I would be explaining how I used it for uhhh..think quick....well, actually I would have to admit I was cleaning out my costume collection and tried my wig on.

sounds like you might hae hidden them from your self . were you realy fearfull of loosing them ? . so I would get a step stool out and look down on your world to see where , in your heals , you might have tucked them for " safe " keeping!
I have had to do this for something I put away and 15 mins later i needed it again. and it took me 3 hr to find where I had tucked it away safe! ( yea my garage is full of stuff )

Time to look at the bright side of things. It sounds like everyone here has an innate ability to misplace the simplist of things (me included). That will make it easy for us to hide our own Easter eggs this month.:heehee:

I have a feeling the missing lipstick answer is quite simple! Perhaps the police took it for evidience!

I find that as I get older, I tend to misplace things. It's going to happen to all of us.

Once when I was about 14, I was all dolled-up in the bathroom… as I often did, taking full advantage of my sister's and mother's things. Then all of a sudden, my sister's lipstick that I had taken full advantage of, and which she had just bought, disappeared! I knew she would notice it gone and I went crazy trying to find it. There I was in complete gala in that little bathroom trying desperately to find it… About 20 minutes later (an eternity) I found it. It had somehow managed to fall between these cabinets we had. Seems nothing now, but at the time my life seemed over!

The best thing to do is stop thinking about it for 15 muntes. Go back with fresh mind and you will find it. Your mind kinda of plays tricks on us and we could be staring right at it but our minds don't comprahend that we see it. This happened one time with my false nails. Waited awhile and went back and then I found it. If my wife would of found them she would of freaked. My heart was pumping real fast but I slowed down and took a deep breath and found them.

It's 'The Borrowers' in my house, I'd swear it is. Saw one of the little buggers dragging an earing off one night and another dabbing at my lipstick two days later.

As for MargaretJ's socks, I'd bet it was Dobbie the House Elf!:heehee:
