... I'm going to tell them that I have a case of the SPINS

Sparkly Pink Irridescent Nail Syndrome. :)

Wish me luck - it's a small step, but a noticeable one.

Yahoo, here you come! If you do not flash them too much in the unsuspecting eyes of those at the dinner table like a girl with a new engagement ring, you just may make it through the night without a comment. Good luck and I can't wait to hear all about the evening, including what was the menu.

Dinner went well. As far as I know, only one person semi officially noticed - my SO's cousin. I didn't see it happen, but she caught him staring at my nails, and he mouthed to her "is he wearing...?". She just nodded and smiled. She'll see him next week sometime, and I imagine a question or two will be asked.

If anyone else noticed, they didn't say anything to me or my SO.

The true test will be my side of the family - I predict somewhat less tolerance, and more hassle. Time will tell, though.

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone.
