As many of you know I play rollerderby. I am legally female and everything matches parts and pieces as well as paperwork. What does surprise me is that WFTDA has announced a VERY generous policy for trans women. They are going to allow trans women to compete even being pre-op. Thats a big surprise if you ask me!

Here is the link to WFTDA and thier announcement http://wftda.com/news/wftda-adopts-gender-policy

So if you want to play an incredible sport this might be of interest to ya.

It's amazing to me, as a whole, how cis-women are far more accepting of the transgender community. Can you imagine the NFL adopting a similar policy for FtM?

IF only I had a good sense of balance ( can't easily roller skate or ice skate). BRAVO for the WFTDA !! I hope to see this sort of thing in other, similar ruling bodies .... well, I can *hope* at least !

There is a Women's Roller Derby Team here in town now, I should go and watch a match ? !!

I did not give my opinion on thier policy but with that said I will NOW. I myself have mixed feelings about what they have choosen. I am not exactly sure I agree with them allowing Pre-op girls to play but thats is just my opinion.

Finally as with everything I would hope that any trans woman that plays a womans sport knows how to keep her mouth shut and play as a woman. That means not go out there and advertise they are a trans woman. I to some degree made this mistake and learned from it.

Well they do require hrt and female hormone levels so a pre-op can't bulk up with the benefit of "T"...

Quite true and that is why I have mixed feelings.
