Today, my two daughters (ages 2 and 5) were playing dressup. It was time to get their baths so we asked them to stop playing. The youngest was very upset, and kept saying that she wanted to dress as a cowboy. She was holding her sister's old dance recital costume: a powder blue concoction of tulle and lycra. My wife and I laughed and I said "Honey, cowboys don't dress like that, at least not in public."
It's too bad, really. If I knew that would have counted as a cowboy costume, I would have asked my mom if I could be a cowboy every Halloween until I was 16! :D

That's pretty funny. I wonder how she got the idea it was a cowboy costume. :)

How does the song go? "I see by your petticoat that you are a cowboy."

Twas once in the saddle, I used to go dashing.
Twas once in the saddle, I used to go gay.
:heehee:
There is a huge difference between working cowboys and movie cowboys, particularly those of the golden age of singing cowboys!
In fact, singing cowboys are about the only males actually *expected* to dress in high heels, bright colors, embroidery, and lots of fringe! :)
