we see all kinda names here you know your profile name....some are real intresting .. so lets hear abought your profile name......

Julie York
09-30-2005, 11:13 AM
I chose Julie because it is undoubtedly a 'real' name and has a ring of truth to it. Maybe that's why it is so popular with Cds. I chose York because I live in Yorkshire (somewhere!) and so the two together sound like a real person and has character (I think?). There are a lot of CD York and Yorks about for the same reason.

Tamara Croft
09-30-2005, 11:14 AM
I chose mine because it's the longer name for Tammy :D So I guess we go well together....

Ella
09-30-2005, 11:18 AM
I chose mine because there used to be this girl in my class at school called Elly, and I always dreamt about being her. She was really popular and very attractive and so feminine. I really wished I was her!
Well I thought I won't steal her name, instead just tweak it a little bit. I guess this is the person I pretend to be when I dress.

I was actually given my name, Melissa is a great fit, when dressed I feel all of her and desire to be called by my name

Lisa Marie
09-30-2005, 11:47 AM
If I would have been born a girl my mom always told me my name would have been Angela Marie and have been called Angie so thats why I picked this name.

Maddie
09-30-2005, 11:52 AM
Ona day when i was dressed the dog was looking at me funny and my wife said to him "is it daddie or Maddie" and so it stuck

When asked i say it is short for Madison

Bonnie D
09-30-2005, 12:01 PM
My name comes from my first girlfriend. We were 5 years old at the time so actually she was a friend who was a girl. The following year my family moved and I never saw her again. I never forgot her, and of course her name was Bonnie. My male name also begins with "B". This helps with my private credit card and any femme clothes ordering I make.

Lady Jayne
09-30-2005, 12:06 PM
4/5 years ago I used to go out at night, you know just for a walk, on one occasion this Asian lad caught up to me and started asking for my name and phone number ect(well it was very dark) I was trying not to speak as that would be a dead giveaway and I was really worried how he would react, eventually I told him my name was Jayne and I was engaged but he wouldn't take no for an answer anyway after a while he just said to me "is you a lady" I guess he'd read me! I said "yes of course I am" but I don't think he fell for it.

I am Jayne and I is a lady hence Lady Jayne

Phoebe Reece is a character that I have played (in amateur theater) in a series of plays written by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jr. Phoebe Reece was a middle-aged woman who was the chairperson of the fictional Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen Guild Dramatic Society.

I love the name Lucy, and i was born in London, so....

MsEva
09-30-2005, 03:28 PM
I sort of stole the name from my dear wife. When she was feeling really frisky, she would say that the naughty lady Eva was going to make a visit tonight..reer reer ;)

When I went online for the first time..way back when I used to chat in AOL I needed a name and Eva came to mind...

It sort of sounds more exotic than the fem variety of my male name..Dani...When my dad used to get on me for wearing my hair long, back in the seventies, he would refer to me lovingly as Danielle...almost went with that..so..do I look more like an Eva or a Danielle?

Charlene Marie
09-30-2005, 04:05 PM
The truth is I wanted to sigh on fast to join the club, I tried my girl name;
Charlene, but the computer kept telling me it was taken. I wear a lot of Red
hair so I choose Big Red. I guess I was thinking about all the country music girl singers in the 70's.

It boils down to whatever you are happy with, but, I've always likes the name Danielle.

As for me.. A derivative of Teddy, my birth name.

I have posted this story before, but the short version is that the girls at a salon where I got my first head-to-toe makeover christened me Dana when they were finished :)

Penny Dreadful GG
09-30-2005, 05:09 PM
Although I am a gg, and therefore perhaps not in need of a pseudonym, I nevertheless wanted one. (Everyone else had one!)

So, the reasons behind my choice of name are twofold:

1) My real hair is sort of copper-coloured, like a penny.

B) It is a literary joke of sorts (two possible interpretations), and I like to see who gets it.

It is also been effective as an 'ice-breaker.'

What fun to be able to choose one's own moniker!

Penny

Helen MC
09-30-2005, 05:36 PM
Although I originally used the brand names "Montfort and Cherub" as my user name being the two types of girls' school knickers I wore when I started to borrow my sisters, I use the girly name "Helen" when I am en-femme at home or in my womanly persona as I am now while I type this wearing only my panties. Therefore Helen MC = Helen Montfort-Cherub.

Helen has always come across to me as a very , very , girly name and all the Helens I have known have been very feminine and pretty.

I used to know a girl in grade school named Karen, she was the quiet type like me. I guess I always thought of myself as being her, at least in fantasies. I got Gypsy because I guess I look like one in drab, shaved head and two hoops in my ears, plus a few tatoos.

It's from a baby name site on the internet. I liked it and it's Celtic so that's it. Oh! Also it can be Male or female the name Haley. LOL

Sharon
09-30-2005, 05:53 PM
I had two heavy duty love affairs at the same time once, one was with Lavonne and the other with Sharon. Lavonne doesn't quite fit me, so I chose Sharon instead.
<sigh> The good old days of first grade, when I could handle more than one love at a time. :)

Sherrie
09-30-2005, 06:12 PM
I was looking for a name with a nice ring to it, and wasn't so common. I chose Sherrie. Sounds kinda playful too. And I think it is a pretty name.

I have a lovely, understanding GG who happens to be called Olesha. Seemed logical at the time.

there has been a thread on this before i sure of it, But anyway i will say it again " MICHELLE was picked coz it would been 'me name if i was born a gg 'me mother told me a few years ago " PEANUT for being a peanut lover and eating fresh out of 'th bag 'th only way i will eat them. SKIRTER for being a skirt lover and it is what i wear with a nice blouse or sweater most of 'th time when dress femm, 'Bout a few months ago now i started to wear ladies pants and you know what i love wearing them as well with our winters being very cold here in calgary sometimes below -20c it is way to cold to be wearing skirts outside so that's when i wear 'me femm pants mostly and when i can't wear me skirts for different reasons.

cd_isabelle
09-30-2005, 06:54 PM
hello girls,

heres the story behind my name, the cd is obviously to do with crossdressing and isabelle, 1. becuase i love the name and 2. because i used to know a girl who was called isabelle and she was just such a fun loving, sweet, carefree, feminine kinda girl that she was everything i wished to imitate in my dressing.

thats just about why i chose the name.

kisses,

cheri
09-30-2005, 07:27 PM
Cheri happens to be the most feminine female I know and best female friend to my wife. Thought it would be only proper I chose this name.

kysmet
09-30-2005, 09:30 PM
Well, I will only tell you about the two names all of you know me by. I have many others but they are not relevant to this board. :D

Kysmet - In Bulgaria this word means lucky. However, I am nowhere near even thinking about being lucky, so I guess the name doesn't really work. In India though it means Fate and that is more suitable to me at any given time since I seem to fight with Fate every day just to prove I'm going to win.

Ericka Jean Morris - I have explained this one before I believe, but it never hurts to entertain the new people. EJM are the initials of my boy name. Not that this is my birth name though as I was adopted by my stepfather when I was three and my named was changed thus. Ericka stems from a pen and paper game called Dungeons and Dragons that I played for nearly 20 years and then quit. Erick was my longest lived character/persona in this game and I always liked it most, so I feminized it by adding the A. Jean was a tough decision. I originally wanted to keep my grandfather's name in some form as my middle name but decided that Ericka Josephine did not roll of the tongue like Ericka Jean does. Besides, I'm from Texas and Jean works better. :D And Morris is, well, my real last name. Hence, Ericka Jean Morris. Not to mention it made signing billiard tournament payoff tickets much easier. hehe

Ericka Jean

Talon DeRojo

09-30-2005, 10:25 PM
Gosh! I'm up to like 4 post, will it ever stop. A long time ago, I was "Linda". Used it for many years, thought it a bit dainty. Then met this "Bi" gg and she thought I looked more of a "Charlotte" and said it fit me better in my persona, because in real life I was a bit of a "charlatan". ( One who pretends or is a fake ) Later as I matured (sure I did ) I needed one with my own initials, for the ovious reasons, A cd friend and I came up with " Diana Eileen ". As most of the eariler chat boards already had a " Diana" taked, I opted for "Diannna". Three sylables and I thought rather unique. My gg friend of the last two years, who I've told early on about me as a cd'r only recently asked if I had a fem name. I told her "Diana", she of course giggled a bit and said she rather liked it, but! She usually referrs to me as " D'ana". I havn't asked her why, as I kinda like it too. Hummmmm! Maybe "D'annna". Hummmm! Long post again. Sorry.
Love to all,
D ( hehehe! ) :cute:

Marlena Dahlstrom
10-01-2005, 12:27 AM
Originally I was thinking of the animated character Daria because we're both brainy sardonic outsiders with closely guarded vulnerablities. But somehow I misremembered it as "Darla." I realized the mistake a day or two later, but decided Daria was too obvious an allusion, so I stuck with Darla. Oddly enough when I looked up Darla on baby names site, I discovered it's very age appropriate. It peaked in popularity around the time I was born, but fell out of fashion in later years.

As far as "Dahlstrom," it started with "Dahl" -- my own little private joke, particularly when combined with the first name, you had DarLA Dahl. The spelling probably came to me from children's author (Willy Wonka) Ronald Dahl. The "strom" came because I hate the lack of rhythm in my guy name, so I wanted something that flowed well. So I experimented with a couple of endings before settling on "Dahlstrom" which sounded soft and appropriately Scandinavian. (Of course now I'm interested in being an auburned-haired. Go figure... :undecided )

MarieTS
10-01-2005, 01:43 AM
Well, back when I was a litttle boy and knew I was misgendered, I wanted the name Mary. Marie (at least to me) is a more chic version of Mary that sounds even more femme, so voila... that's why I chose Marie

Well Michelle came from a girl i really fancied and fanaticized about being in secondary school (I like the name too, I don't know why I just do) it is also the same as my first initial so that helps, and Moxon is my actual family name I guess I used it and not a false name because I feel like I have had enough hiding behind a false me (being in the closet for so long), I am who I am and proud of it :D

My wife and I chose April for a few reasons. One because April is one of my favorite months of the year. And two because of my cousin April. I always thought she was what all ladies were modled after. And my wife thought she was one of the sexiest women she knows. So, April was chosen. I know wish I had changed it. And I want a middle name so bad it drives me crazy.

Went to a concert by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and life all became clear, i had been dressing on and off for about 14 years, and fancying the odd guy. Well life became all very clear that night at this concert, she came onto stage in a gorgeous pair of shoes and a beautiful little dress, and a few good looking male dancers, and at that point i looked up and saw this vision of beauty, and realised i didnt want her, i desired her shoes and dress, and would of happily gone off with one of the dancers. It really hit me that night who i really was, I wish i could say i hadnt felt unsettled by this, because i did, and its only now im truly accepting more that i am who i am.

I remember Daria, she was pretty cool. When I hear Darla I always think of The Little Rascals. :)

As for me (sorry to crash the party), Lex comes from my middle name, Alexis, and the Capt part is because of my obsession with pirates and all things nautical. I fancy myself a pirate captain (sort of like Geena Davis in Cutthroat Island). :D

I chose joanna after a very elegant girl at school who was a ballet dancer and leotards are some of the first fem things i wore, and pain after the trials, tribulations and pain that dressing has caused me over the years.

Laurie Ann

Nothing as original as I have read here. Like several others my mom was sure I was going to be a girl and my name would have been guess what? Yep Laurie Ann. My male name is my grandfathers name she did not not have a boys name picked out so she sort of went with the flow.

Katie Ashe
12-07-2005, 10:36 AM
I wanted a none traditional name, but referenced my likes and more or less me. I picked Katie because of :rose: Kate Beckinsale:rose: . She is very pretty, and a lovely person. I :<3: Hilary Duff to death, but her name doesn't fit my personality. Ashe was a none traditional middle name that flows. I'm trying to create a different side, for my fem side. Katie Ashe (and my real last name) is the whole deal. They are not shortened or nick names. I have started signing her name on documents now. I have been through a dozen baby name sites, Katie Ashe X is what I kept going back too :chained: . It took me over a month to decide, this :Pullhair: .

Lisa Golightly

Perrhaps but it wasn't in common usage, as far as I know

PennyAnne
12-07-2005, 11:34 AM
My wife suggested "Penelope" since my original given name was Phillip and this let me keep the same initials. Besides, she knows that I do like the classics. I chose PennyAnne for the simple reason that "Penny" or "Penelope" wasn't avaliable as an email address. Besides, I kind of like it.

Amelie
12-07-2005, 12:00 PM
Amelie---a-may-lee

From the film "Amelie de Montemarte"

I went by four other names before Amelie, well, I think it was four, it's sort of like Dissociative Identity Disorder, I kinda had multiple personalities and I can't really remember them all. And Amelie is the one that appears right now.

SherriePall
12-07-2005, 08:53 PM
I chose my name because I love the song "Sherrie" by the Four Seasons with the phrase, "won't you come out tonight?" which I ask quite often, hoping to spend some time with her. Plus, one of my earlier girlfriends had that name. As for my last name, Pall, it sounds like my male name. And my middle name is Lynn which, I think, sounds nice with Sherrie.

Staci
12-07-2005, 11:44 PM
I chose mine because I was looking for a simple name that sounded cute and feminine to me. I also like the girl names that end in an "i" for some reason. Plus I have not found many that use the name spelled as I spell it.

Mona

I have had (and am having) trouble choosing a fem name for myself. You see, I only recently went from having worn a few girly items of clothing (never really dressed fully) to realizing that I may want to transition at some point. The first time I ever considered finding a fem name for myself was when I joined this board and felt I should choose one for a username. In fact, it took me a few days to half-settle on one so I could register. I'm still not entirely satisfied yet with the name I chose, Amber Dawn. I chose that name because it is the first and middle name of a girl I grew up with and admired very deeply. She became to me in many ways the model of not only womanhood, but of also a fine example of a human being in general. So, I hope I am able someday to live up to the example she set for me. While I love the name and think of it as very beautiful, I'm still not sure that it fits me, really. I don't know if that's because I haven't really adjusted to thinking of myself with a fem name yet or if it is because of the name itself possibly not fitting me. Time will tell, I'm sure.

Marlena, I thought at first your name was Nordic coming from the word "Maelstrom" that means something like 'a powerful storm usually as the result of conflicting tides'.

You mean like Norwegian for "violent and terrifying whirlpool of death that sucks up all objects within a hundred-mile radius, leaving total destruction and chaos in its wake." :D But that's only when I'm in my femme fatale mood, emphasis on fatale. ;)

But seriously, thanks Faye!

Actually, when I decided "Darla" didn't fit any more, I inspired by Marlene Dietrich (it's also an homage to two GG friends, both with names starting with "M," who've been an inspiration to me). "Marlena" might be some big heels to fill, but one could do worse than to model herself after a strong, classy woman -- who also happened to look fantastic in drag.

ReginaK
12-08-2005, 03:01 AM
Regina is a latin name that means "queen". The "K" is for "king".

It kinda fits in with the pseudo-royalty motif i've had over the years for picking names for online gaming, forums, etc.

Lotte L
12-08-2005, 03:12 AM
Lotte is short for Charlotte. Lot is also destiny. And the added L is to make a differance with other Lottes.

Its Sarah
12-08-2005, 01:12 PM
I've just always loved the name Sarah, if I could get away with legally changing it without the stigma of being that guy with the girls name, then I probably would.

Bridget
12-08-2005, 02:01 PM
Carolyn, my first name was chosen because it was a nice sounding name, out of all the female names I know. Sometimes I like the name Iris, because it's pretty too. ^^; Bridget, my middle name, is a homage to Bridget from Guilty Gear, a crossdressing character. According to canon, s/he is a crossdresser because the town she was born under believed identical twins to be bad luck, so they raised Bridget as a girl. However, according to canon, also, he is not gay, which nicely breaks the stereotype "crossdresser=teh ghei". He becomes a bounty hunter to prove, despite dressing like a girl, he is a man.

However, this fact is lost on scads of rabid otaku girls, who shove him into more yaoi than you can shake a stick at...

Megumi is my chosen Japanese name, I'm half Japanese, because it means roughly the same as my English name when traced to it's Hebrew word root.

I liked the name Melissa, but I know too many girls named that, and it would be awkward...

Sharon86
12-08-2005, 05:15 PM
My wife gave me her middle name and 86 is the year i left the army.

Lissa Stevens
12-08-2005, 05:56 PM
I chose Melissa because it is a very pretty name and if I can't be pretty at least my name can be. LOL. You can call me Lissa for short. Only my gurlfriends are allowed to call me that, and fromwhat I have seen in my short time here I think I will have a lot of gurlfriends. You all are the most beautiful and loving group of people I have met. :rose2:

I met his wife at a gig I was playing. It was all I could do to keep from looking at her constantly. I can only dream to have a fraction of the beauty that had consumed my every breath. Thanks Arula. XO Arula.

Jeri Rene
12-14-2005, 07:55 PM
I went with Jeri because it is my given name....with a twist.

Rene because I just liked it.

On the subject of what if's. I recall that my mother once mentioned tha had I been born a girl my name was going to be, swear to god, Buttercup.
Well I am a 60's baby....sign of the times?

jennifer marie
12-14-2005, 08:07 PM
I picked Jennifer Marie because Mom always said that would have been my name had I been a girl!

Gilded Graper
12-14-2005, 08:22 PM
I was one of the girls at Gilded Grape and GG Barnum in NYC.

That was a long long time ago, so now I'm trying to find a
granny avatar that I like.

I left for the west coast cities when Grapevine opened.

12-14-2005, 09:21 PM
This is pretty wild, but back in '99 when I really started to dress the full regalia, wigs ,shoes and alla dat. My then girlfriend /now wife was helping me to get it all together & we were planning an out-of-town excursion into my femme side, wow those were some exciting days.

Anyways, I had gone to a rental company to return this video camera I had been using on the day we were scheduled to leave town. We had just been toying around with the names Karen and Heather. In walks this girl, long black hair (I had just bought a long black wig), the VERY outfit I had just bought for the excursion. And she was wearing the same color lipstick I had got. She was fated to come in there when I was in there, I truly beleive that. Now this is when stars start lining up and thangs like that. It was like clockwork.
She was also returning some rented electronic device of some sort. Well they asked her what her name was and she said Karen Webb. That was it. I adopted it right then and there and the rest is shall we say, "HERstory". Thus Kwebb.

cdaleli
12-15-2005, 01:01 AM
I met an argentinian girl in college named alexandra... loved to be called aleli...
I liked it and loved it as well... as it is a derivative of my middle name.

tiffiany
12-15-2005, 11:50 AM
I used to watch saved by the bell and I had a crush on kelly. In highschool I had a girlfriend that looked exactly like her, but her name was tiffiany. When I was thinking of a name, hers happened to pop into my head and It just stuck.

Darlena
12-15-2005, 11:59 AM
Names are important to self image. Initially I wanted "Trish". It was taken. Then "Trisha". That was taken as well. A spin off of Patricia, my Mom's Name. My birth certificate states that my real name is Patrick. After my Mom. I think my parents were hoping for a girl. Then I decided on Darlena as my handle. (Darlene was taken) Ever since I've grown to really like it. Take Darling, Daring and Lena and what do you have? DARLENA I'm so comfortable and at home with it I'd like to change my name to that for good. P.S. I just Googled "Baby Names" for the fun of it and DARLENA" means,`Famous & Loved' That cinches it for me. I'm keeping it!

Reana
12-15-2005, 12:41 PM
My name came about after much thought and the realization that my first choices for a name were already overused. I noticed that there were several nice names that could be created by simply placing a letter of the alphabet in front of the letters "eana". When I got to the Rs I felt I had what I desired. I prefer to have it pronounced "Re-a-na". It has been pointed out to me that I should have spelled it "Reanna" provided I wanted it pronounced "my way". I somewhat agree with that but have gone too far with it now to change. So, either pronunciation is acceptable. In any case, I'm very happy/comfortable:) with the name.

BettyAnne
12-15-2005, 05:30 PM
I chose my name since it remined me of a wonderfull English girl I met in Paris in 1955. We lived together for nearly a year and after that our career paths pulled up appart.
It was a delightfull interlude and when I see my chosen name I am aways reminded of happy times

Oh, and before you ask, that really is me, 2 years ago. I treated myself to a professional portrait

nobody had Aubrey so its original *shrugs*

Nicole Lee
12-16-2005, 01:27 AM
Unlike others, the name I chose has pretty much nothing to do with my male name. I picked " Nicole " because that is the name of a girl whom I had the BIGGEST crush on in school. I admired everything about her .. her face, her hair, her body, her sweet personality, her taste in clothes (GLO jeans!) .. everything! Why I chose to choose her name .. not too sure, but it seemed like a great idea at the time! ;)

lovemybras
12-16-2005, 04:05 AM
I chose lovemybras because I absolutely LOVE to wear them. I have on two right now, along with a garter belt, stockings and a pair of string bikini panties. I have worn lingerie since I can remember, and would love to wear it with someone, and "fool around" at the same time. I live alone, and have no boyfriend or girlfriend. I'm looking for either a m/f couple, or a cd guy.

Robyn2006
12-18-2005, 11:22 PM
In my guy life I'm Robert and my gorgeous older sister's middle name is Lane. So, "Robyn Lane" clicked-in years ago, I think with no thought at all.

Robyn

JennyCD
12-18-2005, 11:36 PM
Jenny is a permutation of my middle name so obvious I used to be teased with it as a kid.

Rene
12-19-2005, 12:51 AM
I chose Rene' because I wanted a name that could be both male or female. Just like me. Of all the names that fit the bil, Rene' really fit me.

Darlena
12-19-2005, 01:26 AM
I tickled my GOOGLE and it told me that "Darlena" means `Famous & Loved'. I can accept that I suppose. But initially I chose this monicker because Darlene was already taken by someone going by the name of "Darlene". And besides, The extenuated form sounds a little more "La Femme". I like it and I plan to use it in place of my given name. Kisses+love,

tiffa
12-19-2005, 04:28 AM

12-19-2005, 05:20 AM
Growing up, I had a friend called Alex (a girl). Ever since then I have loved the name, especially in its full form, Alexandra (I am also fond of Alexis and Alexander). I wanted to choose 'Alex' when registering here but it was taken so I added an 's' onto the end, and here I am: Alexs. :)

cindybarnes
12-19-2005, 06:59 AM
Ok I may have posted this before, but its a looong thread and instead of searching here it is again :)
My wife first called me Cindy,, she was teasing me about always changing back to ugly drab me after midnight *S* Cindy-Rella :)
I picked last name Barnes at random when setting up my Geocities account long ago.
I have thought about how much I like the name Sabrina,, especialy when Im in my red head mood,, it was a red headed girl named Sabrina gave me my first kiss when I was a kid and I had a crush on her for a long time.
I dont see a name change tho,,, too many monogramed towels and Cindy coffee cups LOL

Cindy

Raychel
12-19-2005, 07:07 AM
Ray sometimes Raychel the rest. Afterall Raychel is just an extension of me. I am still trying to think up a last name the will fit.

Crystal Harmony
12-19-2005, 07:15 AM
I choose mine for two reasons,

1.Crystal is my fav girls name,
2.I picked my whole name from the cruise liner crystal harmony

Yael
12-19-2005, 03:34 PM
Yael, in Hebrew, is either a girls or a boys name — seems more than fitting given the situation. :D

Translation: "wild goat" or "G_d's strength"

Yael

gina is just a name we liked and faye was a very special person in my life when i was young so ginafaye i became

Paula Blair
12-19-2005, 05:46 PM
Several years ago, in my first phase of dressing, I chose Paula, simply because my first name is Paul. My middle name, which I have NEVER used as a male, is Blair. I figured it would make a reasonable last name. Anyway, I set up a yahoo account using paula_blair. After my big purge, I stopped logging on. When I went to use the account again, for some reason yahoo wouldn't let me log on. I didn't want to use the names yahoo suggested (i.e. paula_blair15789455, or something like that), I just picked a middle name. I have always liked Ann. So, now my yahoo id, and female name is paula_ann_blair.

Paula

AlysonCD
12-19-2005, 06:00 PM
Like alot of others here, I got my name from a girl I liked growing up. Even spelled it the same way I do, except without the Cd(of course) That's one of the reasons I chose red hair also as she had the most gorgeous red hair I've ever seen

jenny_cheerleader
12-20-2005, 05:47 AM
Well, i have always loved the name Jenny. Not being short for something, but jusy Jenny. If i ever have a daughter, i hope my wife would agree to use that name for her, but it would ultimatly be up to her, not me.

As for the "Cheerleader" part, i have always loved watching the female cheerleaders, in high school and in college. i wish i was able to do the stunts they do and wear those cute outfits while performing in front of hundreds of people. 2 years ago, during my sr year in HS, i was able to video tape them for a DVD that i made for them. Some were already my friends so i offered and they accepted. I still have every last second of that footage on my backup tapes and i have been thinking about redoing the dvd as i now have professional editing applications and professional DVD authoring capabilities as opposed to that consumer crap that comes on computers. Im glad that they were my friends and that i was able to spend all those early 6am practices with them. Wow this post got long. Anyway, thats the story of jenny_cheerleader.

Stacy Lee
12-20-2005, 05:57 AM
I've noticed several other 'Stacy's or different spellings of the name after I registered...:o

Mine was inspired by my biggest crush ever...

terza
12-20-2005, 06:22 AM
it was chosen for this forum. but i think i'll stick w/ terza from now on.
the initial is the same as my first name and since i'm the 3rd child,
the meaning "third born" in italy -- a language i'm fond of --
is a cool reference.
not bad for the first feminine name i ever chose.

Clare
12-20-2005, 06:55 AM
My male name is the patron Saint of Wales - England, and as I like Welsh names, Clare seemed appropriate for my femme persona. Clare also happens to mean 'Bright One', so I hope that refers to either my intelligence or my personality!

geegee2
12-20-2005, 07:02 AM
I chose my name GeeGee or GiGi, cause i liked that song from so long ago,if some of you can remeber it, Hey there Georgie Girl. I used to go around humming the tune, cause I cant really sing well:D ,then someone told me I was
going to turn into Georgie Girl, hence GeeGee love hugs kisses GeeGee2

Helen MC
12-20-2005, 07:26 AM
I decided to put my "Girly" name as my Signature here. My nom-de-plume "Montfort Cherub" as I said above is a combination of two of the brand names of the Girl's School Knickers, "Lassies' Knickers" as the Scots call them - (any Scottish "Lassies" here) - that my big sister used to wear and I borrowed and wore secretly. However it is not a very feminine name , so I thought that I would use "Helen" which is whom I consider myself to be when dressed en-femme at home

KarenNY
12-20-2005, 08:39 AM
My mother gave me the name Karen Marie because it was what my name was going to be if I had been born female. My mother was very supportive and accepting of my crossdressing, plus I was an only child, mom was a divorcee... it's a really long story. Suffice to say I was able to dress around the house when I wanted, and my mother would call me Karen when I was dressed.

LisaRaye
12-20-2005, 08:44 AM
I choose my name Roxxy beside it starting with the first letter of my birth name. although shy to go outside she is very sexy, outgoing, gorgeous, my girlfriend says if you want to call it that just alittle freaky. I love my name it is very delightful thats where Roxxy Delight comes from. I am keeping the name it fits me.:) btw all of you have beautiful names.

Sedona
12-20-2005, 09:03 AM
While I was in college, I was on a vacation to Arizona. I ended up having a fling with a woman in Flagstaff. After um, enjoying each other until the early hours, she turned to me and said, "I'd bet you'd look good in some of my lingerie, maybe a garter belt and slip." Needless to say, I was shocked. I said something like, "no way, what are you talking about?" Needless to say, I was embarrassed, and didn't come out to her (sigh). After breakfast, I never saw her again. Later in that day, I visited Sedona, AZ, with friends.

I picked Sedona because it's simply sexier-sounding than Flagstaff. A lot of water has gone under the bridge, and I have a fantastic girlfriend now, but Sedona pays homage to my old friend.

ronda
12-20-2005, 09:13 AM
i choose ronda because it matches my male name and i like the name ronda

kally
12-20-2005, 09:50 AM
The 2 reasons I choose my name sounds ridiculous compared to some of the others, but anyways

1 It was the name of my first pet cat

2 If spelled with a I instead of a Y it means energy, and black goddess.Which if you ask anybody that knows me I can go from a happy go lucky person whos full of energy to a very dark mood [dark goddess] in a matter of minutes. Not something Im proud of but its who I am.

kally:o

RenaCD
12-20-2005, 11:40 AM
I took the name RenaCD because the name Rena means Peace and I am most at peace when I am Cross dressing. I know I gotta lightin up

Rena

Sally Gray
12-20-2005, 11:54 AM
My name...after a girl I was at primary school with...she had the most fabulous blonde bob....may be I should have that as well!

Only after I started using the name I discovered there's a current television presenter (here in the UK) with the same name and a 1930's film star...

susan howard
12-20-2005, 02:41 PM
susan just seems to me to be a really juicy sounding feminine name. names also conjour up memories and it reminds me of a girl i once dated. howard, the 'sur name' is my middle name and just sounds somehow cool.

Rosemary
12-20-2005, 09:08 PM
I chose Rosemary for this forum mainly because I'm hiding a little bit,

My real femme name is just Mary. It's the name my mother gave me whenever she would scold me about behaving like a girl. Funny enough I do like it.

I'm always behaving like a girl these days, so just call me Mary.:)

Mary

Barbara G
12-25-2005, 12:12 AM
My mother died suddenly when I was 15. My father soon remarried, and my stepmother had a daughter one year behind me in high school.

She was drop dead gorgeous, but I never made a serious attempt to make a romantic connection with her.

I chose to use her name because she was my first unrequited/unrevealed love and -- as I said -- she was drop dead gorgeous.

Oh, by the way, my last name starts with "G".

Falcor
12-25-2005, 05:16 AM
Falcor is my dog, that or my name nicky, falcor sounded better

Jasmine Ellis
12-26-2005, 10:47 AM
I chose Jasmine because of my ex wife. She told me, my dressing had to stop or we would be finished. One day as my wife was working I found myself putting on earings, make-up, and my wig. My face went from a miserable man to a very happy girl, the misery had stoped right there as the name came out of the blue "Jasmine lives"
Fully dressed, waited for her to come home just to say good bye, nevertheless, we are still good friends and she will not tell anyone about me.

sadiechan
12-26-2005, 12:13 PM
Have read everyone's entry here and loved finding out. There are some great stories there and it's nice to see some of the girls I am friends with here revealing their reasons for names :) Most of the names here are really pretty and complement their owner well.

A lot of people on the chatroom ask me about my name. I used to go under the names of Sina and Selphia, the first was a name borrowed from a friend and I didn't want to keep it. Selphia Chan was my name a while ago - based on Selphie, a very cute girlie girl from the video game Final Fantasy 8. Chan is a japanese word for endearment and came to my attention when it was used to mean "cute" in Ranma (re: P-chan)

About 9 months ago I became Sadie, chirstened by the love of my life. She thought it would be better to have a name that was sexy but not trampy and not a fabricated-sounding name. She said I could keep the Chan if I wanted to (although this has made me a target for the Oriental admirers on the chatroom!).

So that's the story of Sadie Chan. I love my name :)

xx Sadie

Jennifer47
12-26-2005, 12:32 PM
I chose Jennifer because when I returned to college after many years I met a shy young girl named Jennifer. I befriended her and helped her to come out of her shell and participate more. She graduated with a 3.78 gpa. She is my role model to overcome my feminine shyness.

cheryl1035
12-26-2005, 02:42 PM
I chose Cheryl because I love the name and was the name of my first love in high school. The 1035 is because it is ConfiDential (CB term) that I am a CD!

Sweet Susan
12-26-2005, 02:45 PM
Just think of all the marvelous women named Susan!

Tamara Barclay
12-26-2005, 02:53 PM
Mine came from my ex wife.

ChristineRenee
12-26-2005, 03:14 PM
Christine came from the book and movie of the same name by Stephen King. It is a fave of mine and when I was trying to come up with a name to call myself, I thought of the main character who Christine "posseses"...thus became my first name. Renee came from the name that my mother would have named me if I had been born a girl. Also...I liked that the fact that it means "reborn" in French....which is how I viewed myself after finally understanding the woman that is within me.;):)

kyra
12-26-2005, 09:55 PM
Actually, my SO picked Kyra for me. When we found the internet CD community, she and I were talking about femme names and I said "Karen". But she said, "No, you don't look like a Karen, you look more like a Kyra..." I thought about it for a few minutes and decided to keep it. I chose the unusual spelling because I'm so unusual.:D

Hugs,
kyra

I don't actually recall the reason for choosing my femme name other than I have always found the name charming. I originally used the name Nicole which was very close to my m-name but I suppose I wanted to remove myself from my male self while dressed en femme so I eventually settled on the current.

EjayeCD
01-02-2006, 10:58 AM
I simply took my first two initials & made Ejaye, sort of like Jaye Davidson the actor who played a female part in the Crying Game.

susancheerleader
01-02-2006, 11:04 AM
When I was 12, I took a leotard from one of my sisters friend named Susan. My sister got the leotard back from me and for months kept "teasing" me by calling me "Susan."
Somehow when I was thinking of a name, that event came to mind. I figured that was what got me to like dressing, so went with the name.

janice4ever
01-02-2006, 11:17 AM
:) Where I work is a girl named Janice. She is beautiful great personality and a body I wish I had. So I took her name thus far I want to be Janice 4ever

Billie Renee
01-02-2006, 11:17 AM
My name was given to me by my mother she called me Renee but when she got mad at me she would say Billie Renee which sounded close to my real name Billy Ray. So I normaly go by Renee most of the time.

Rikki Elisabeth
01-02-2006, 02:21 PM
I have a neutral colored luggage, portfolio, and some oversize men's shirts all with my initials. I decided on a name that sounded fun but not off the wall: Rikki Elisabeth. It had a nice sound to it.

JuliaCD
01-02-2006, 04:32 PM
When I first took baby steps to bring dressing out of the bedroom fetish phase into the light of day, I bought skirts and dresses, makeup, and an absolutely godawful long curly costume shop wig. One night I got made up, dressed, put on the wig and..."Well! I look like Roseanne Rosannadanna!" So, before my next experiment, I got out the shears and removed 60% of that horrible wig. The next time I got dressed was much better. The wig was still horrible, but at least it wasn't a clown wig anymore. It was dark, curly, close to my head and long in back. Looked sort of like Julianna Margulies...right after she woke up. I've always loved the name Julia, and so it stuck. My boy name also begins with J, but that had little influence on my decision. I also go by Jules, as I had a friend named Julie who used Jules and I like that too.

By the way, the second wig was much, much better and finally allowed me to go out. Now I am no longer under the corporate dress codes of those days and have grown out my own hair. It's getting thin on top tho...we'll see how much longer that lasts...:(

01-04-2006, 06:16 AM
I chose "Cheryl" because I like the sound. It is close to my given name "Charles". If I had been born a GG, with XX chromosomes, I might have been named Cheryl

pricilla21 GG
01-04-2006, 11:51 AM
I picked my name as it was the name of one of my daughters hamsters! We had two - Elvis and Pricilla, but pricilla had to be put to sleep last year as she had a really bad skin condition that would not heal and was very miserable. Elvis is still going strong and I thought it would be a fitting tribute for her!

PartGirl
01-29-2006, 01:28 PM
The way I chose my female name was from way back when I bought my first wig, this was when fredrick's carried a better line, the wigs name was Diane. I all so dated a really hot girl with that name in my early 20's. So when I made the connection, WALA:D

Phyliss
01-29-2006, 02:36 PM
Phyliss is, to me a kinda natural extension of my male name of Philip.

Don't really know how I chose it. I figured it fit and sounded close enough to what I had been used to hearing all my life so I figured ,"what the heck?"

Amanduhrob
01-29-2006, 03:03 PM
Long story short...

First time out dressed, Halloween, dressed like a prostitute, drunk guy at party tried to pick me up, and after four or five dismissals, I finally said...I'm A Man...Duh!

Drunk runs away, ex wife laughs her ass off, and called me Amanduh from then on in private. Lost the wife, (good riddance) kept the name:D

TaraB

I used to post here as dewdakota since this was merely for research for a play where I am playing a woman. Sicne then I love coming here reading and posting to everyone and I felt that I should have a more proper name. I used to workon a cruise ship and some of the male dancers decided to hold a drag show for the officers and cruise staff. I agreed to join them since I knew I could get a few items shipped down to me from a previous show. While thinkin up my act I needed a name. I recently watched "Gone in 60 Seconds" which featured a Shelby GT muscle car nicknamed "Elenor." I love that car and the name Shelby reminded me of this cute girl I use to work with. She was cute, skinney, flirty, a little young for me but we still flirted a lot - god I miss that girl. So I went with "Shelby the Stage Staff" since that was my job on the ship. The Cruise Director thought I looked like Ethal Merman and the host of the show referred to as Dolly Parton's stuntdouble (I wasn't impressed). Soon Shelby will come out from the depths of the closet and under the bed to perform in a murder mystery with a whole new look and attitude. Her last name will be Pendleton which Is a name that Rita Hayworth used in a fun movie. I love coming here.

My name came up to me while I was at work one day. I was thinking of what my life would be like as a woman, and of course I was thinking of what a transexual has to go through during their transformation phase, acting feminine, changing their name etc, I even started practicing signing my name down numerous times. This drew a wierd look from my team leader when he saw my piece of paper with a woman's signiture all over it. My first name is the female form of my first name and the middle name I just came up with, it just matched with the first. As for my last name I use my given middle name. The one I use when I am in drab.

Well, my first girlfriend was named Paula. She was my very first girl. Loved then name ever since. Mother wanted a girl named Linda Lynne. So I took Paula Lynne as my name. Rather sexy I thought. Seeing as how the first panties I ever slipped off a girl was named Paula and the first panties I ever wore were my mother's at age 12, it was natural I pick Paula Lynne.

Choosing my name was easey for me. I've allways loved the name Tiffany when i was a young child and the name stuck with me ever since.

Anne was for 2 main reasons---St. Anne and---Anne Of Green Gables.

As for the---9954 thats part of my male self and for my main interests besides my dressing. It does get a little technical so to speak so i wont disguss it here.

Kimberley
02-04-2006, 03:31 PM
I am not sure but I think Kimberley chose me since I never knew anyone with that name.

Maybe I was under the influence and pulled it out of a hat, I dont know, but I do like it.

My sister used to tease me in private by calling me "Joanna" in my early teen years. This was after she caught me fully dressed in her fave black woollen clingy dress, and full ensemble, including heels, makeup and jewellery.

Vanessa Sheridan

Hi,

Before I get started, you should know that butterflies have always been sort of a totem for me. They start out in life as caterpillars, crawling around in the mud, but eventually they spin their cocoons, go through their remarkable metamorphosis, and become those beautiful winged creatures that everyone loves. I've often thought of my personal journey as being similar to that of a butterfly--starting out as a caterpillar but always moving toward becoming beautiful. I hope I've achieved that, at least to some extent.

When I was looking for a feminine name, I tried out several. None of them really seemed to click for me. One day the name Vanessa just rolled off my tongue, and it sounded good--classy, feminine and it felt like it fit my personality. So I adopted the name and it's now an important part of my life.

A couple of years later I was in a bookstore and happened to pick up one of those "name your baby" books. I started looking up all the names of the people in my family, and then decided to look up the name Vanessa. To my surprise, the book said that the name came from a Greek word meaning "butterfly!" The cosmic significance of that event was not lost on me. Nothing in life is an accident.

Hugs to all,
Vanessa

Tess Tickle
02-05-2006, 07:33 AM
Well, I chose Tess as it belonged to a gorgeous, intelligent and caring girl I worked with and of course, envied in every way.........as for Tickle, well that's thanks to my sense of humour, as when said quickly together it is exactly what I've got two of.

This is going tobe boring, but my mum has ALWAYS told me from an early age she would have called me Karen if I was born a girl. Wonder if that's why I have dressed all my life? hmmmmm...

ladyelaine
02-05-2006, 11:06 PM
When I began dressing again a very few years ago, The name Elaine was very appealing and seemed to be right, then one evening the sense of it came up ladyelaine when I was getting made up, and it has been the same all along. Since being at the forum and signing in with ladyelaine, it feels even more right. I have thought of myself as such, but now and here have the opportunity to use and have it be used by others for the first time. Thanks so very much to all of you.

I don't have a femme name. I wanted a name for this forum that expressed at least some of the differences in my feelings and actions when crossdressing.

I don’t like shopping - never have. Don’t even like to shop for the stuff I like (computer stuff), I hate shopping for clothes.

But I have spent hours online searching for an article of lingerie that I thought I just had to have.

I am a shopper for lingerie – truncated spelling because I am lazy?

Hmmmm, interesting thread tho,
thanks

lela
02-13-2006, 06:13 AM
I had a wonderful aunt named Lela who I admired very much. She knew of my crossdressing and helped me in many ways. She helped me with makeup, clothing, and hair styling. She became my best girlfriend, we would talk on the telephone for hours about girl things. She helped me become the woman that I am.

When my SO and I had a great conversation about my need to be the women/girl I had always wanted to be and with her 100% support, I looked in the Names for children " Girls" and choice 25 names that I would enjoy being called, I gave the list of names to my SO and she picked the name

" Christy " for my adult female name and " Crystal " for my very young female name. I love both of them very much

Bernice

Gosh, I guess that was over ten years ago! I had heard about how TS would go from Glen to Glenda, Patrick to Patricia, Samuel to Samantha, etc. My real name has no exact counterpart. I obsessed for a long while, settling on a name that shared many of the same letters. It's a French name - I'm not very French, but have at least some French ancestry. Still, I guess if I had born Bernice, my parents might have named me Bernice. I've grown to feel like "Bernice".

I answer to "Bernice" now, that is, I look to see who said the name. I forget that nobody around me knows I actually go by that name. Sad.

I've also selected a middle and last name, seldom used, along the same methods I used to select my first name.

To thine own initials be true?

Hugs,

Bernice

Elsie GG
02-15-2006, 12:52 AM
I have used Elsie for other situations where I needed an AKA. On my sub-line I originally had Dian's GG and Anam Cara. In Gaelic, Anam Cara means soul friend. I really like the idea that am I not only Dians wife, but her soul friend. When Dian asked me why I used Anam Cara - I realized it was not a commonly known term, unles you were into Celtic Spirituality. So I will drop the term but not the concept.

Ellie

When I first got fully dressed, I had pony tails in my blond wig, tight shorts and an "Awe Shuck-um's" attitude so Ellie Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies came to mind.

I dropped the 'Mae' cuz I didn't relly like it but Ellie has stuck.

TracyDeluxe
02-15-2006, 05:16 AM
Tracy because when I was changing my name legally, my psychiatrist suggested something that could be used for both genders, and Deluxe, because when I was transitioning, I always made sure I was accessorized properly (no mores, alas), and met a gay couple who knew a drag performer with that moniker, and so christened me that, as something of a joke.

And it seems that it's a screen name that isn't often taken, a plus when registering for a new website.

Pretty boring stuff, but there it is.

Sarah Rabbit

To recap my Introduction in short

I always like Cathy or Julie when growing up. Once I accepted my female and started dressing those name just did not do anything for me. Sarah just kept comming back again and again. My mother told me it was the name of her Grandmother

I like rabbits Iam a Rabbit on the chinese horiscope (A close shave for a Dragon) I have Apet rabbit and my house is full of toy rabbits.

Sarah Rabbit

I've just always loved the name Sarah, if I could get away with legally changing it without the stigma of being that guy with the girls name, then I probably would.

Reminds me of the Johnny Cash song 'A Boy named Sue'

Well I chosed Joan which is the feminine form of my first name John. And Lynn just had a nice match to go with Joan. My maiden name is Thomas which is actually my male middle name so I can still have a connection with my male self under my female name and identity.

Marsha
02-16-2006, 12:55 AM
I really don't know a Marsha, no preconcieved ideas of who Marsha "should be". Also it was symbolic of a new life, like me in a better package. By this time it seems to be my name, not my "other" name and I am comfortable with it.

Well it's ancient Greek female name...love ancient greek mythology and so...I got it...and love it!...

Penny
02-16-2006, 02:01 AM
Penny is short for Penelope the faithful wife of Odysseus. Like Penelope, who waised many years waiting for his return, I spent many years hiding the femenine side of me. But much more than that, Penny has even stronger value:

" A penny saved is a penny earned"

" Pennywise and puund foolish"

" A penny for your thoughts"

" Your two cents worth"

" Everytime it rains, it rains pennies from heven
Don't you know each cloud contains pennies from heven"

" Find a penny, pick it up ----------- good luck!"

One penny doubled each day for 30 days and you have a million
dollars!

I had no input in choosing my male name. My fortune was to be able to choose my female name pennywisely!

My hubby (Daniell65) got his name from me. His real name begins with a D and I have always liked that name. He is STILL too shy to post here (we're working on that) so I thought I'd put in his 2 pennies worth too!

Lady Elaine was the name of a character on Mr Rogers (U.S. kids program)....

Lady Katherine
02-19-2006, 08:48 AM
Katherine, of course, is an old fashioned name .. befitting an old lady like myself. It also connotes, to me, elegance and style, a goal I strive hard to reach as a woman. And, I am relatively tall, somewhat trim (tho with a girlish softness) and feel I'd most love to be like the late Katharine Hepburn. Maybe I'll change the spelling of my name to match hers.:)

Satina Silky
02-20-2006, 03:37 AM
It' really easy with my name. I choose Satina Silky because I have strong fetish for satin and silk.

Gail Stauffer
02-22-2006, 12:43 PM
I chose Gail because it's such a beautiful and feminine sounding first name, and stauffer as a last name because it just seems to fit ...

Natalie J
02-22-2006, 01:13 PM
Natalie just kinda came to me. the J is the initial of my last name. As it turns out, the name Natalie basically means born at Christmas. My birthday is December 23rd, so the name stuck to me pretty well.
