Saturday I met with a GG friend and we proceeded to drive to Savanaha to go shopping for Laura. As we were driving down we decided to stop for an early lunch or late breakfast. stopped at R&D resturant, small and in the middle of nowhere. We ordered our food and as the waitress turned you could see her smile. I knew I was read, oh well ain't the first time and sure won't be the last time. I took it all in stride and acted lady like and did not push the issue. One by one you could see the staff stop at the register and look in our direction, its was comical:heehee:. When we finished our food I went up to the cashier and older woman and presented my credit card, she processed it and gave me a copy to sign and it stated no signature required, sh stated she always askes for a signature, so I did, she looked pullezeled, but didnot say any thing, and the hole time the kitchen staff was takeing turns looking at me thru the serving room door window.

We took this picture outside the resturant.

So on we go on our journey, next we arrive at the mall and go int Bass Pro Shop, shoped around and then went into the mall for a walk around. Was looking for a souther girl style hat and a pair of sun glasses.
The more we walked and talked it was so nice, there was the occasional group of school girls go by and then the wispers and giggles, but no rude remarks or anything, we tried on hat after hat and took pictures, but haveing a hard time getting them to display her.
Finally at Target we found a white floppy hat that fit perfectely and was just so stunning, that I had to have it.
Next it was on for the search for sun glasses, and in alittle shop we found the just right pair, I was so happy. we strolled around and took more picutres and just had a wonderful girls day out. Most people were too involved in what they wer doing to even notice us and the ones that did we polite and smiled.
At one store my friend called me by my boy name and then remembered and called me by Laura, the couple next to me just looked so suprised when I answered up to her, it was pricesless, the woman giggled and said she liked the blouse I was looking at, I told her I liked it too, but it was just a little small for me, she said that the bigger girls sizes were just behind me and maybe there was one there, I thanked her and she went on her way, It wa so wonderful being treated so nicely by stranger, let alone another woman.
We procedded on to Logan's roadhouse for dinner, the waiter asked me mame would you like some thing to drink? I got mammed, for the second time in my life, it was so special, I can't even explain it. It just must have been the combination of my new wig and my new special southern girl floppy hat. lol:daydreaming:
Dinner was great and as far as we could tell I was never made and it was so nice to eat and be treated as two ladys haveing dinner together, the feeling is still with me and I hope the feeling stays for a long time.
The more I get out these days the easier it is, my makeup still needs some attention, but I will make it a priority to work on, who knows it may just be another day trip between to girlfriend to a beauty counter somewhere.

Day started at 09:00 am its now after 07:30 pm and we are just getting home, just didn't want this special day to end. So we have scheduled another day out next week, can't wait. PS changed my avatar to one of the pics we took while we out.

It sounds like a great day between friends!:)
I kind of know the feelings that you were having!
It was in Savannah that I met Charleen for the first time.
We walked down River Street, a main tourist place.
Then we had lunch at the Pirate's House.
It is supposedly haunted.

I'm glad that you had a good time.
I don't know if I would be shopping in the Bass Pro Shop, though.:heehee:

I am glad you had a great time! I lived near Savannah for several years and I loved going to the mall there. I never had the nerve to go dressed (well, I was still in denial then) but it is good to see pictures of places I have been. I LOVE THAT HAT!

I met my wife in Savannah 27 years ago although she is from a small community Henry Ford built just out side Savannah....and we were actually married in Beaufort South Carolina....I know the malls well and have spent many a great night running around Bay and River Street. Use to be a club there named the Main Sail just a little ways from Thunderbolt which is on the way out to Tybee Island...The band I worked with right out of High school in the 1980's played there every six weeks for the better part of 6-years.
sounds like you had fun on your trip...next time go eat at Teeples in Thunderbolt or Musashi's...good food at both places.

Thank you all for the input so far. I will definetely try those resturants. As far as Bass Pro shop no problems and they were very couertous towards both of us woman. They even mammed me when I walked in.

Believe it or not I found that Hat at Target,$9.95, thought it was a steal, besides it actually fit over my wig and all and was comfortable.

Hi Laura, you have an amazing positive attitude. I think that I'm going to have to develop the same if I go out, being 5' 14"!

It would have been priceless if you had asked to take group photo with the staff of the restaurant. They would have talked about it for days! :)

You go Laura! Sounds like you had a great time and I love your attitude. And when the cooks and other waitstaff peek around the corner, I give them a little wave and a smile.

And isn't it automatic that if you shop in Georgia, that you have to go to Bass Pro Shop? :heehee:
