A new milestone for me today. I went to visit a place in center city to quote some work (male,en drab) and one of the people showing me around was a trim, pretty & petite well-dressed woman who I swear was wearing a belted cowl neck cotton sateen Ann Taylor dress just like one I bought 2 falls ago. Needless, to say, she looked fabulous and I really wish it wouldn't have been wildly inapproprate to compliment her and ask about the label on her dress.
Has this happened to anybody else out there?
Best,

A few years back while attending a wedding I saw a woman wearing the same style dress that I have. She too looked good. I didn't have a chance to talk to her otherwise I would have complimented her on her dress. I've never seen anything wrong with that and have often complimented women on what they were wearing. They always seem to appreciate it.

Yes, a woman whom I admire has several times worn the same twin set that I have. It is a great temptation to say something about it to her but I won't.

I don't recall seeing anyone wearing a dress that I have, but I have seen several women wearing skirts matching those in my closet. I told one lady that I had the very same skirt she was wearing, and really loved it. I was a male Stephanie at the time! She just laughed, and told me that she would bet I looked good in it!!

A few years ago, I came into work and passed our receptionist, and had to do a double take. Not for anything unusual to anyone else. It's just that she was wearing the same cute blouse I picked up at JC Penney's. It was nice to see I still had style>

A few years ago I purchased a tunic-length top, boat neck, runched waist, doleman sleeves, from an Indian clothes store in New Orleans. It can easily be worn as a top with leggins or jeans, and it can be just long enough to be a very short mini-dress if you are careful.
Two months ago I started seeing this very "top" advertised in many of the catelogs we get in the mail as a "dress"! My wife smiled and complimented Tina on being on top of the styles :)

Cool - Does she know you have similar taste in clothes?

I was in a Safeway in Miami (en male), waiting in a very long line for deli. This girl, who was waiting with her boyfriend, had this pink and gray T-shirt that I really liked. I was tempted to ask her where she got it, but I didn't want a confrontation with her boyfriend.
About half an hour later I'm checking out, and I turn around to see them checking out also. But from a distance, I can clearly see she is wearing my micro mini skirt.

I was in line at Layne Bryant buying a nice top and a woman came in the store wearing the same top I was buying.

A few years ago, I was at my usual stop at the coffee shop, and Just as I am walking out, this very attractive woman walked in wearing the exact same black dress that I had just purchased at Wallyworld.
Needless to say she looked way better in it then I do. :heehee:

I had this happen a long time ago at a work Christmas party. I saw that a co-worker was wearing a burgandy empire-wasit lace dress that I also had - at the time it was one of my favorite dresses. I recall being distinctly jealous of her, thinking "that's MY dress, how dare she!" I did swallow my irrational jealousy but also made sure to tell my coworker that I really liked her dress and she had great taste. If she only knew.
I still have that dress. I haven't worn it in a long time since it works best on a skinny person, but I'm loathe to get rid of it. Maybe I'll wear it again when I lose that 20 pounds. ;)

I see women wearing shoes I own all the time. Usually, I manage to reasonably convince myself that I look better in them.

I haven't ever seen anyone wear something that I own, but once; - a top I purchased at Lane Bryant, but I have seen several dresses that I have purchased for resale at the Goodwill store. Makes you kind of upset to know you could have gotten something for $10.00 if you had only waited one season later on getting it!
oh yeah... this happened a few months back, my girlfren gifted me a saree and a designer blouse.... it was a designer blouse and was quite surprised to find the same design in a movie poster... i was indeed quite surprised on seein the same exact blouse includin the colour and pattern worn by a prominent south indian actress...

More than a few times. I have even seen some of my clothes on some of those makeover shows on television.

I saw a girl in a commercial wearing a top very similar to my red ruffled one, and she was presented as someone who would be very fashionable. I wasn't sure (and didn't care) how fashionable it was when I got it, I just personally liked it.

I bought a pink floral dress in Phase Eight, and Carol Kirkwood (who does the morning weather on BBC Breakfast) has the same one. I like to think I look good in mine - it is very flattering - but Carol definitely looks better. A woman at work has no less than two skirts I own! Buying a patterned skirt from M&S means you occasionally see them out and about, and my sister (who does not know I dress) once bought a skirt I already had from M&S.

I attended a wedding anniversary celebration with my SO and while we were waiting to eat, she pointed out to me a lady who was wearing a brown summer dress that Nancie has. Well, after seeing this lady, my SO tried to convince me that I looked better in it but I still decided to send the dress to Goodwill. This lady was about the same size as me and she didn't look that good in the dress. Good bye dress.

Never had anything like that happen, but the wife and I sold off a bunch of old clothes, we had both put on a lot of weight, and this where stored for a few years, well some of the Lady's that work with the wife heard about it and showed up. A lot of my stuff sold a lot faster than the wifes stuff, and it was fun watching them pick up things and comment on how cute it was, and what great taste my wife has in clothes, all will admiring something of mine that was no way near her style. Now when I go by her job, I will see some one wearing a dress, blouse, or skirt, that looks very familiar, It always makes me smile.

Actually, I've been trying to do just the opposite. I see a GG with a great outfit/dress and then I try to find it myself. The other day, this GG walked into an eating establishment with a mostly white knee length skirt that had black striped swirls and a broad black hem. For a top she had a black turtleneck, longsleeve.
This is how I learn fashion I guess...

I have seen a couple of girls out at clubs wearing some sexy little minidresses similar to the ones I own and can't help but think, I think I fill the dress out a little better than she does hehe ^_^

As stated zillions of times before, I wear conservative fem clothes all the time (slacks, tops, etc). I went to a clients customer's house once and the lady of the house answered the door...in the exact same outfit I was wearing...same black blouse, same or similar black slacks...ok different shoes but very similar loafer style. She looked me up and down (as I did her), we chatted, I did my job in a heightened level of professionalism (didn't want the client to get a bad report on this one!) we chatted some more when I was done and left. Not a word was said by her about how I was dressed and I did hear back from the client that the home owner thought I was very professional!!....whew!!

Yes, and more and more I find myself noticing women that are well dressed/put together no matter what their shape or size.

I get a lot of my shoes at Payless, so I see a other folks wearing "my" shoes pretty often. Very fun when it happens.

See it all the time; every day on the way to work, some girl going to school is wearing my uniform. Same in the fall, I eventually find a cheerleader wearing the same thing I do. Maybe that's one reason I wear them, to identify with that group so I feel like I'm one of them.
