View Full Version : Anyone else down in the dumps?

I wear a bra because I want to. Now that heat and humidity is here, I am not able to "dress" (wear a bra) as much. And I feel like I've "shaped up" over the winter. I like what I have, but I wish I had a little more. I am down in the dumps this week, because of not being able to "dress." But this happens each spring. Anyone else having the same feeling?

I've been down in the dumps for the last couple of weeks due to my Wife's inability to accept my feminine side. Much to my Wife's displeasure I dressed this morning and when I told her I was going out, well that didn't make her any happier. I drove out to Rancho San Diego, parked in the lot and walked to the Avenue store. Spent about an hour-and-a-half shopping, trying on several items, but not finding anything that really touched on my happy button. I ended up buying some bracelets, the solid rings, the first ones I ever found that I could get my hand through, and a a pair of panties. I have never owned women's panties before; I'm wearing them right now and I'm sure it is all physiological but I am really enjoying knowing that I am at last sitting here wearing women's panties and not my old briefs. None of the GG's in the store paid me any attention what so ever, although the manager asked me if I needed any assistance several time and she always addressed me as Babs; being called by my feminine name was a bit of a rush, something I think the manager was aware of -- anything to increase sales. I don't care if it was a sales tactic or not, I enjoyed being called Babs.

At one point I noticed that the manager was wearing wedges very similar to mine. We stood side-by-side and compared our shoes. She said she needed heel strips but couldn't get then to stay in and I said I had the same problem. I also mentioned that I had bought the Dr. Scholl's women's high-heel inserts and she said she too, Standing in the middle of the store just talking girl-talk with another woman, especially a GG, was very uplifting. I could get to like living as a woman very easily.

I still love your Avatar and wish I could find a similar shape wear, Been considering a real steel boned corset; I have always want to be laced into one to see not only how I looked, but what it felt like.

Heat has never stoped me! Although I hate the sweating part! The only time I'm not wearing a bra is in the bathtub or shower! PLEASE GET OUT OF THE 'DUMPS' SOON! A smile sure looks good on you! Hugs!

The heat and humidity are not as high where I live (there is a frost warning for tonight!!) so Tee's are not a "practical necessity" most of the year here. The building I work in is carefully regulated for temperature summer and winter, so wearing something long sleeved or thicker while at work can be a good idea to keep off the chill of the air conditioning. Things might be different if I were outdoors doing sports more, but even then we get a fair number of summer days that have cool breezes so light jackets are not uncommon here.

The other factor for me is that since I started on estrogen, I have not been wearing my bras very much. Part of that is that I seem to have gained a band size (drats!) so several of my "go-to" bras are no longer comfortable. Part of it is that I am not dressing to "hide" my development: I'm wearing my usual clothes (well, the "shapeless" ones less often ;-) ) and letting the cloth fall as it may and giving people time to adjust. Part of it is that when I do wear stretchier tops, bras smooth away the pokey parts, making my development less obvious. But part of it is just that on HRT, my stress levels are reduced and I don't need to "bust out" as often.

Jorja calls the Emergency Heat Response Team and sends them over to anonymousinmaryland's house to turn down the air conditioner. :D

The heat and humidity really do a number on makeup and wearing pantyhose get mighty hot.
The good thing is HRT made it less necessary to dress to feel like a woman. I feel like a woman just wearing shorts and t shirt now days.

Nope, today I went out again, albeit no human contact and it felt great. Summer is when I'll be feeling down 'cause school's out and I don't get the run of the house by myself. So enjoy what you have when you have it and when you don't look forward to the time you do.

Every day is a gift.... fem mode or not.

Thanks for your comments. I should have mentioned back in September I went almost to a 17/7 ritual, being "dressed" (wearing bras) and did great except for the emergency surprise visitors here and there. But now it's t-shirts and and some pullovers, but time being "dressed" is virually nil. I'm not out, nor do I show off what I'm wearing, but I really enjoyed being "dressed" 17/7, or as close to it as possible. Someone said, down with the thermostat, and that's ok, but I don't want to spend my time indoors. And so the weather went from high 50s to 80 plus overnight, and you can only wear flannel shirts and cover-ups so long. Thanks for listening.

extenders are available at Sears and possibly other places as well, and come in various widths--2 clips, 3 clips , etc

What r all u folks going on about? It's been hi 60's and low 70's for months! What's, "humidity", by the way?

Why wear a bra if u don't need one? I don't think THAT'S FEM! I see lots of women that SHOULD and THEY DON'T! I'm with THEM! Lol!

Doesn't help on my clip-less bras such as the Elita Cross-over mini-camisole (model 3638)...

I live in Georgia, here in the U.S.A., where it not only gets very hot but also very humid!! Right now at 10:00 PM my time it is still 79 F !! But I wear a bra all day everyday, whether I am dressed in drab or enfemme! I was told to wear one by a doctor 70 years ago, when I was 9 years old, and except for military duty have worn one every day since then!!

I don't feel down about anything, because I don't let myslef be down!! Being down, or depressed, means you are not in contol of yourself!!

Move further north!! Nice and cool up here!!

It might be cool now; But come August, it will be hot and hummed.
Now get yourself a walk in cooler, where It is 38 F all the time, now that is cool.

be happy that you do not have to have a bra on all the time. but here we are still a good 15%F cooler than normal for this time of the year. i live in a lower (only 500ft) part of the state but snow last night and again tonight above 5K feet.
got to love california, land of fruits and nuts...even the weather is not "normal"...ha..ha...ha.

even when the heat does hit us here i have a coupler "lighter" bras for then. thinking about trying a stick on un-bra thing.

and i melt when it gets above 80F.
have fun
