I saw on the news earlier that a local transgender lady was beaten up at a 7-11 by 4 teenage girls. The police have 2 of them and are still looking for the other 2. What is the matter with people today?

I don't know either :( I saw not long ago where two teenage girls beat a TG up inside a McDonald's. It seems to me that teenagers are the ones that have the most difficulty understanding and accepting...... This is one of the things that scares me so for when Danni is ready to go out fully dressed. I read on here not to long ago about someone going out dressed and a group of teenage boys coming up and causing a stir and one or so of the group being pepper sprayed.... I wish people would not judge others so much.

It's a shame things like that happen! But it always has and will for some time to come! We can only receive a better world tomorow by educating morons today!Hugs!

and then people wonder why passing is important, or why we hide. I try not to, but it does take courage to go out looking anything less than typical male.

I'm going to posit that as a really rather large website with thousands of CD/TG/TS folk and their loved ones on it, that this website probably catches a large proportion of the attacks on trans people in the western world; both the ones that make it into media, as well as members posting up bad experiences. In the broad picture, I'm not sure that the number of crimes or their brutality has gone up, just our perception of them?

Does anybody have some decent stats on gender hate crime rates compared to the past?

What is the matter with people today?

Too many people named Brutus, not enough people named Popeye...:heehee:

One factor might be that we have the same number of bullies, but more surveillance cameras to catch them on.

Another factor might be that parents these days are more interested in "having a life too", than they are in parenting their children in order to give them a moral compass in life.

Another might be that many people today have no idea how important it is to pay attention to your immediate surroundings, even in public places these days. There is a brazen aspect of violence that we have not experienced in the past. It is a threat in daily life that requires astute awareness of your surroundings at all times. Not paranoia, but vigilant awareness.

It is not the way it should be...it is the way it is.

I'd say we go out and beat up some teenage girls... Let them see how they like it!! Mean girls are so damn nasty.... I remember them doing thinks like that to other girls 40 years ago in High School... Nothings changed..... Its human nature to strike out to what you don't understand... And you wonder why aliens haven't shown themselves yet?? they are scared of being attacked my packs of teenage girls!! Lol.

I dont think that there is really that much more violence than there ever was. I do think its more of whats caught on camera now. Instant sharing of information in todays society makes things seem much worse. I also think its more of a minority than the norm.
You always hear about the bad things but you never hear about the good things.

In years past, young girls were taught to be feminine, get married and have children. These days, they are taught that they can be anything they want to be. Some choose to be bullies and thugs. It's part of the culture in some communities. Potential gang members have to beat up people to gain "respect".

I don't know the solution. People much smarter and more educated than me don't know the solution.

All we can do as individuals is stay away from bad areas and places and be aware of our surroundings.

I'm afraid that if this trend continues, we will endup as a society where everyone is packing guns and ready to shoot at the first provocation.

In years past PEOPLE (not just women) were taught and shown respect (unfortunately many were not). This is not just due to girls no longer being raised for all intents and purposes to be the property of a man and raise children. This is because parents and schools are failing at preparing kids for the real world.

NO ONE should be taught the gang culture, male or female.

While I do not agree 100% with this statement, namely that girls were "raised to be property" or that are kids are being taught the gang culture (At least not yet here, in some parts of the Midwest :))... I do think that Pythos is very much correct and on target with his opinion of how parents and schools have failed our children AND how boys and girls in years passed were taught to show respect for their elders and not so much anymore.

Too many children do not fear consequenses anymore. It's that simple. Collectively, as a society, we gave children the upper hands when we turned over the raising of our kids to the schools. It's not the school's job to raise kids. It's their job to teach your rugrat the shit you don't know or forgot. Sure they should reiterate or reinforce postive behaviors and manners learned at home. The issue is that many kids aren't learning these things at home or school and when the kids don't (school curriculum doesn't include manners and Emily Post) they turn into disrespectful little shits. (Mean Girls /Bullies)

Somewhere along the way or line... some "experts" decided that we should let children raise themselves and do what they want with minimal consequences, whenever they did something wrong. Basically that children always need to feel good about themselves. Excuse me? Wha Wha WTF?!?!? If I'm not mistaken.. for some of us... the worst thing we could ever hear or get from our parents is "I'm disappointed in you". That's called GUILT and I know my parents, along with all my friend's parents, used it as a tool... often. The other tool was your Dad's hand or belt. It was a BIG deterrent when I was growing up. There is a reason why your kid's ass fits in your hand and parent's shouldn't be afraid to use it WHEN NECESSARY...

If you think I'm wrong, take a look at other children in the animal kingdom... some of those little shits get eatin & killed by their parents for fu**ing up.... I'm just saying. Tell little Johnny that it could be a whole lot worse. Better yet... show him Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom. Little ******* will be sweeping out the garage faster than a fat kid after a cupcake

In all seriousness, we as a society must do better for kids... cause they don't know. It's our jobs to teach.

Sorry for the soapbox.

I would worry about multiple guys attacking me but I can't see the fear of teenage girls. I mean for a crossdresser you are a man in women's clothing, surely any guy should realistically be able to defend himself against a girl. I exclude transgendered from this thought process.

It is sad that things like that happen. My sister manages support groups at a high school in Iowa. One group is the LGBT group that meet on different days. Her school had their graduation Monday and a few students were afraid of being outed at graduation. The staff took care of that. I think teens are more vicious and they just don't care Its just about me.

Oh yaaaaaaah, I knew that did not sound right when I posted it! Spank you for correcting it!

Now, I am wondering who Brutus is

Isn't he the guy who stabbed Casper, er, I mean Ceaser? Or its a cologne.? :heehee: how to spell Ceezrrr...hmmm.

Anyway, girls should be nice, not tough. Doesn't Dr. Phil have a camp for that. He does for everything else...:daydreaming: We need that drill instructor with the Smokey Bear hat that used to scare kids straight on the Maury Show before he turned it into a paternity test lab.

When King Syndicate started making Popeye cartoons,to avoid a copyright infringement law suit, they changed Blutos name to Brutus,in the original black and white Popeye cartoons, befor Ted Turner colorized them,Popeyes bully was named Bluto,if you wonder why I know this,I'm a Popeye fan for most of my life, and did you know Popeye was given Eugene the Jeep by Olive Oyl in a 1940 Popeye cartoon.

When the military started using Jeeps, originally called General Purpose vehicle, the GI's called them Jeeps, after Popeyes Eugene the Jeep in the cartoon, because Eugene could go through anything, like the GP could.

Kate Lynn,

Thanks for clearing that up...reeely...that kind of stuff drives me crazy.

Back to the malfeasant teenie whoppers...I've been involved with martial arts since I was about 8 years old. I would only engage with a guy if my life was threatened. I don't know if I could ever strike a woman. I suppose if it was life/death situation, but I can't imagine that scenario.

I would think even those mentally challenged teen girls would be a bit cautious about attacking a "CD", with the knowledge there is a guy in there someplace. Obviously it worked out for them.

I am always curious about the parent of kids like that. I would like to observe them just to see what goes through their heads, besides air. I think when young kids get into trouble like that, the parents should have to serve time right along side them in the same cell. Of course it would be "too little, too late", but hey, you have to start someplace...

Hi Karren, I love your response. but let me ask you this. if you are saying that "its human nature to strike out to what you don't understand" isn't it human nature as well to use self defense tools like a good ol papper spary in case if you do happen to be attacked? and spray that s$$t right into those teenagers' eye balls when they list expect it, ... which brings me to my next point. I am strongly considering getting a papper spray before i go out for my first time, or any time:) I belive that regardless of your sex, whenever you are in a dress you are in a whole different field of the game. and besides after all we are still men and men can get in a lot of trouble with the law if they beat up a girl but if you use a paper spray for self defense, i see nothings wrong with that.

in this economy no matter who you are , where you are going , dressed or not, it's really important to protect yourself, At least level the playing field a bit.
Yes, i carry mace, but I can't convince my H, Tea to carry one.

Lot's of my gg friends carry [ or at least own in their homes] a gun.

Times have changed, and it's scary.

I think teenagers/kids,learn that level of hate from their parents,my half brother and half sister are a fine example of that, they always have treated me with the same level of hate and spite our father treated me with.

That same TG that got beaten up at the McDonald's was also raped in a previous incident. She lived in Baltimore, MD. This is yet another reason why Jeannie is not ever going out in public.

TODAY????? This is nothing new. It's been going on, well, forever. We just didn't hear about it; it simply wasn't 'news' when a bunch of thugs ambushed someone who crossed the gender lines.
It's not the schools job to raise the kids. The parents are too busy, and so leave it to the school. Then, there's no one raising them. I see misbehaving children every day at work, and the parents act as if they're helpless to do anything. The school has no authority to discipline the kids. So no one does it. And then you wind up with little monsters like in this incident. BTW, I saw this what, a few weeks ago? There were no follow up stories; I guess the media didn't want anyone to know what's going on.....to 'protect' the girls who did the bashing.
