I am new to CD/Sissy world and want to expand wardrobe. Am also new to W. Washington state.

I am looking for crossdresser friendly stores in Seattle/Tacoma area so can try on new outfits, party dresses, mary janes, shoes, etc. Any recommendations would be most welcome!

Hugs, Katie

I think you'll probably have luck using Google, though it is a specialist end of the market.

1) the stores on Capitol Hill - (Broadway) this is a big G/L/TG area

2) any Victorias Secret

3) thrift shops

4) PM Ava Mouse :) (from this forum) Ava, hope this was OK?

5) University Way (also known as "the Ave") this is by the UW. There are some very comfortable (cool to CDers) stores there. No problem with trying on stuff. There are some very good consignment stores there too. They tend to be filled with younger people who are understanding.

6) Value Village stores

Yea another Washington girl. I'll walk right into Kmart, Walmart etc and try things on. Have to go in the men's dressing room though.

Yes, Robyn--you'll luv it. The girls at the Mall are very helpful and discreet. In fact, that's where I got the outfit I'm wearing in my avatar pic. :)

The Bon Marche was bought out by Macy's - and it doesn't really look any different - just a big department store.

I might try a store called "Tall Girls" if you're over about 5'9. It's located in Westlake Center. 400 Pine St. 206.262.1985.

Other than that, I'd talk a walk all through the Capitol Hill and some of the First Hill neighborhoods. Definitely the most forward thinking progressive neighborhoods.

Don't know if that helps at all.

Michelle J, no problem! I love to help!

Katie/RustyLacie,

Lot's of cool places in the area. But I'll need to know a little more about the look you want, age & size. I'm a 9/10, so I can hit boutiques most of us CD'rs can't. Not bragging, just lucky, I guess!

Anyway, Value Village is the best you can do, followed closely by Goodwill Salvation Army Stores. For a slight step up in price, yet smaller in sizes, there's Red Light & Buffalo Exchange in the U of W area, and a handfull of stores, inc. another Red Light on Capitol Hill. Red Light will let you try on stuff enthusiastically. I frequnt these places in both boy & girl modes. Good place to start shopping for the newbies... :)

There a a few upscale consignment shops in Kirkland and Bellevue, which focus more on name brands, and are a bit more expensive, but have nicer stuff, more organized, etc.

Feel free to PM me, I'd love to be your fashion consultant, and take a look at Emerald City, http://www.theemeraldcity.org/ for fun CD meetings and outings. We have a Halloween party on 10/27 and a Mary K rep on 10/13. And in May, our CD conference! http://www.espritconf.com ! :D

So, feel free to PM me, you can be my guest at a meeting, if you're interested... Or if you'd like to do shopping en femme one day...

Lot's of CD fun in Seattle!

Yes, Robyn. At The Tacoma Mall Bon. Their top line fashions are plentiful available in all sizes. They also have a pretty good selection of "clearance" items as well.

See you in the check-out line! :)
