My wife and kids are going out of town in early July leaving late afternoon on a Friday and returning midday Sunday. So far the salon junky in me has a pedicure scheduled for Fridy at 6 and acrylic nails 9:30 Saturday followed by a hairstyling appointment at 12:00 (I may move that earlier since the acrylics should only take about 90 minutes). That leaves some time Friday night and mid to late afternoon into the evening Saturday. I'm thinking dinner before my pedi if time permits (don't know exactly when they will head out). Then shopping Friday and maybe even on Saturday. Sunday will be spent returning to guy mode, Oh well. Suggestions of things to do or details to include that make dressing all the more special?? One thing I will love is the opportunity to wear perfume!! Thanks!!

Maybe try something other than shopping to do while dressed? My first instinct would be to go to the movies, although it might be awkward if you don't have a friend to go there with! The point is, at least in my opinion, dressing is a lot more fun if you do things totally unrelated to just looking pretty while you're dressed; you feel more at peace with that side of yourself once you're able to push it into the background.

Sounds like fun in the sun! Shop till you drop! Go out dancing! Just have fun and enjoy it! Hugs!

IMO, Any restaurant will do....the reward of a decent dinner is enough to make me happy :)
Being in the public spectrum is very gratfiying, I find. anywhere, really.
I've been en femme in movie theatres quite often too, no problem.
Maybe try a broadway show or something.

Violet, you put that very well! A few weeks ago I met my image consultant for coffee (off the clock and she gave me a gift cerificate as a thankyou gift!!) and then on a whim i when food shopping at lunch time in a busy supermarket. It was special doing an errand dressed as a woman would be doing. I got into the sara mode a bit more than usual! I'm leaning toward dinner and maybe an errand or two.

I was going to suggest swim suit but it sounds like you have other plans! I suggest doing something you always wanted to do. I thought the movie idea was great. There is also the road trip idea - just get in the car and drive and see where it takes you. Set a time or distance you will drive and when you reach that point, see what there is to do.

Danni's idea about driving is good but dinner, movie or clubing are all good too. The only thing to remember is take all kinds of pictures and then purge the bad ones later but keep the goods ones for the memories.

Sounds like you will spend part of the time taking the acrylics off. :heehee:

So what do you like to do that you don't always get the chance? Is there that one thing you always wanted to do en-femme? Is there one thing you always wanted to do and it doesn't matter how you are presenting? You are the one that really knows what you want to do, so run some questions through your mind and the light bulb will come on.

As others have suggested and you have alluded to, find "normal" things to do. While being a woman does involve shopping, it isn't the only thing. Frankly, given the little time you have, unless you are really into getting acrylics, I would spend my time doing other things as putting them on and taking them off will take a total of about 3 hours. Just let your nails grow between now and then and get a good mani and pedi. While others have mentioned going to a movie, there are other things. You don't mention where you live in the northeast so I don't know what is readily available. Things like going to the beach, a museum, church, a park for a picnic, a play or a concert all are fun to do. I recently went to Anne of Green Gables put on by a theatre group of teens. It was a great time.

I think something on the line of a museum would be fun, instead of sitting in the dark, like at the movies, you would be out in the light, and able to move. It's a place where you can dress a little nicer than the mall and not look out of place, a skirt, or day time dress would be appropriate as well as pants.
