Just wondering....do you have to see a doctor to get female hormones...estrogen, etc.?

Should you? Yes.

Hormones are prescription only, as far as I know. There might be some exceptions to the rule however.

Self medicating, in the case of hormones, is not a good idea. There are all kinds of side affects that need to be watched after. One being an increased risk of DVT (deep ventricular thrombosis). That's the one you can get from sitting in one position for too long, like on a plane or a bus etc... A clot forms in the legs, breaks free and travels to the lungs. More often than not, when this happens, it's deadly...:eek:

You do have to see a doctor if your planning to start a hormone regimen. Not everyone’s the same. There could be complications of the liver and kidneys, and the dosage varies from person to person. I’m seeing a doctor for my regimen and my doctor monitors me very carefully to make sure nothing goes wrong.
